As an Illaoi main i can give a small tip with anti heal vs Illa OI, Bramble vest is not that good vs a decent Illaoi since it doesnt apply if you are hitting the spirit (E Ghost). This means that as long as illaoi is not W or AA you directly shes not recieving the anti-heal

I used to main illaoi. Yorick and Gwen are dodge/bans and completely dumpster illaoi. If I had to pick any champion it would Yorick bceause there is no counterplay whatsoever. Other lseser counters are vayne, quinn, teemo, cassio, tryndamere, akshan. Good illaoi players can beat Mordekaiser, but is difficult and the window of opportunities are very low, so for that reason mordekaiser can also be considered a counter.
Good video but I would advise revising it and removing bramble vest as a suggestion or at least imply that executioners is better. Illaoi's main all-in and trade damage will come from hitting your spirit and unfortunately bramble vest anti heal does not apply to that
i think someone mentioned this already, but including counterpicks is really nice for dealing with champs. I think showing general game plans is still nice, since you can apply the concept to any champ you play top (for the most part), so good work nonetheless, love the content.
Illaoi has 0 ways to force you to commit, its why she's a bad champion in higher elo. She stat checks most champs in her ult but you never actually have to fight her inside of it. You always have the option to walk away after baiting it and just re-engaging once its gone/on cd.
Not going in recklessly and respect his early strength (unless you play WW) and always go for short trade and avoid/bait his e If you have more than 200 hp advantage while he's low then try to get close to him if he tries to Q and finish him off Also buying MS and anti slow is a good choice since he don't have mobility and all he got his a hook into a slowing auto

Another tip against Illa oye: A good Illa oye will be able to finish you from range if she hits her e against you while you're low (or blow your flash) - she can e you, ult in place, kill the spirit and the tentacles that spawn to hit you are basically undodgeable without a movespeed boost or a dash, and at this point you are going to be one tentacle from death what with you already being low and the echoed e damage which will get you even lower. Also, tentacles will finish their current attack if they are killed in the middle of an attack animation, I've gotten quite a few kills off of this
As an Illaoi main, all these tips are great to counter her, but remember that a good illaoi wont throw her E like crazy. We throw it when you are about to last hit a minion, or when we use W on a champ, that closes the distance and we can’t miss E. Try to bait her E in this instances. Good video❤
Main Illaoi here, Imma drop the best advice against her: just ignore her. Legit, with the changes on bami and how low she moves you can easily proxy her into oblivion until min 14 and she can't do anything about it. If she goes after you she loses 2 waves and if she keeps under tower you'll gain plates and possibly the kill. Best champs for this strat: Garen, Rammus, Sion, Volibear, damn I was destroyed by a proxy Irellia once.

Wait till the illaoi has spawned a passive tentacle, or kill one so the next spawns, before roaming to help the jungle so she can't get a useful one in a team fight at herald etc If your opponent is playing illaoi and didn't ban morde, morde is an easy win, just every fight wait for her to ult then ult her and she's useless, Also if she misses her e, especially before level 8-9 when the cool down gets low, punish it. If an illaoi misses and doesnt immediately fall back then you can fight. Do not call for ganks - oh illaoi is pushed up under tower we can 3v1? That's what she's been waiting for all game. And learn the timings on the tentacles, but bear in mind during ult they spawn and slam much faster, (if you go empty vessel and are super low (cannot survive one more slam) , if you try to kill the tentacle instead of just dodging (especially if you're melee) sometimes illaoi can ult wherever she is, the tentacle becomes indestructible and will then kill you.
You either pick Jax and turbo stomp them the entire game or you pick fiora and you wait for windows to punish mistakes and you outscale them. Or pick trynda!
As a gwen player, don't build full tank, it is exactly what we want, so you're playing a champion like mundo, build items like titanic and stuff, try your best not to get hit by the Q center, as it is the most damaging part of your kit(late game it deals like, 40% max health true damage). If you're playing a champion with any sorts of skillshots, use them to farm, if your playing defensively, most gwens will try to poke you the whole lane. Some champions that work good against gwen are aatrox, tryndamere, illaoi in some cases, renekton. Some good picks are scaling and/or ranged champions, gwen's w lasts for only a bit and has about 26 sec cooldown if it has 1 point in it. Whenever im against gwen, i personally pick veigar if my team comp allows it

I find it very easily to counter both illaOI and Aatrox is to not fight them in laning phase. Proxy champions can hard countering them like Singed, Rammus... and then in late game, you can just run across them and let them die. What's important is to not giving them too much resources early

I’m no expert but maybe toplane Akali? When she’s in W fiora can’t hit weak spots and she’s also very mobile so she can outmaneuver, you can even wait out her ult in w. Akali also doesn’t rely on heavy cc that fiora can counter with her W. But idk that’s just my take
People say dodge e or game. But I think a better advise is this. She is useless as long as you're not hit by her E at all levels. She loses basically every level 1 except yuumi. Just walk at her lvl, dodge q, then take control over the lane.
Might depend on the champ too. As Riven, I prefer to build straight into my first item as Illaoi typically rushes armour vs me and i only have flat damage. When she has Tabis and my item isn't complete yet, i might choose to avoid trades but once i get that item its over for her. I know its a bit easier for my champ and i have lots of dashes but consider whether you really need to rush an early spike item if it delays an even better power spike.
She is a low mobility, low range champion that has no cc. You can pick ranged champion and if you dodge her E she can't do anything. Also, Singed is really good against her. He doesn't requier sticking close to her to deal damage, you can flip her when she ults to get her away from tentacles. She cant use w while grounded so her tentacles are useless and rylai is your core item which helps your team kite her. He also has built in grevious wounds when he ults.
One advice I can give for her tentacle spawns, please clear them out when possible and if you are fighting near 2+ tentacles nearby the terrain then she will have an advantage of doing tons of damage.
If ur champ has literally 0 wave clear just rush hydra. Otherwise she will perma push and lets be real u gotta take one or two E's or u gonna miss farm.

With nasus you can actually give him what he wants if you are confident. Perma shove wave and roam so hard it doesn't matter how much stacks he gets because you're perma pressuring the map. If it goes late you're fucked anyway, so just fuck the enemy jungle and mid and take 6x grubs and herald
For those who dont know this, thornmail is a terrible item and only realistically gets half its value into illa oye. If she hits your spirit it doesnt proc thornmail so she can effectively evade your antiheal by just qing you and eing the spirit.
How to counter Yorick? Outside of playing an AA champion. Say if I get counterpicked on Aatrox, Darius or another champion that struggles to deal with his ghouls.
Nice tips but there was nothing about destroying her passive tentacles, without them she is much much weaker. And she countered in the laning phase by any range champion
So you need to take short trades to poke her down and then use your burst to kill her when she's low enough. Problem being that she has sustain to heal after trades and she usually wins them anyways by just landing E guaranteed when you're close enough
How to counter her: oneshot her, or dont get hit by her P,Q,R becouse these abilites heal her and its missing health so the lower she gets the more she heals(if I am correct, if not correct me), BTW IT DOESNT MATTER IF U GET HIT BY HER E AS LONG AS SHE DOESNT HAVE P,Q,R. I mean, I really struggle against her. Yeah, if she misses her E, she's weak, not exactly. If she has two or more tentacles around she will still bonk you with W and u'll enter bullet hell mode trying to dodge 3 to 4 tentacle slams coming from different angles. If you take the hit, you lose health and she heals. With a champion without dashes and stuff is nearly impossible to dodge all the tentacles. If you try to kill one tentacle she will E you while you are animation locked on your attack, or just W, even if you kill the tentacle, the slam will still go off, and in 2 seconds she will spawn another tentacle anyway. I mean, I know she's not invencible and many high elo consider her weak, but I myself can't deal with illaoi. I either pick mordekaiser or a ranged top laner if I see one.
Don't let anyone fool you illaoi heals from the dmg she does with her tentacles if she doesn't hit any of them she's not gonna heall punish her when e or r IS on cooldown and she IS not gonna heall so much
There are too many champions. A new player will have so much learning to do before knowing them all well which is important for outplaying and not dying

and many people don't know you don't have to walk away when he uses q you can walk towards him and go inside circle

One advice I can give for her tentacle spawns, please clear them out when possible and if you are fighting near 2+ tentacles nearby the terrain then she will have an advantage of doing tons of damage.
If ur champ has literally 0 wave clear just rush hydra. Otherwise she will perma push and lets be real u gotta take one or two E's or u gonna miss farm.
Against all i think not giving counterpicks is a good idea.

this is the main reason I play on - hit mobiliity Illaoi ( flash , ghost ) q and e are just bonus to me since r + w spam is usually enough to kill somebody
nasus, i always win lane against him but still becomes feed, even with freeze
If you are low elo (not trying to insult you) most the time the matches goes 40 min +even if you win early he will become monster at this time
With nasus you can actually give him what he wants if you are confident. Perma shove wave and roam so hard it doesn't matter how much stacks he gets because you're perma pressuring the map. If it goes late you're fucked anyway, so just fuck the enemy jungle and mid and take 6x grubs and herald

For those who dont know this, thornmail is a terrible item and only realistically gets half its value into illa oye. If she hits your spirit it doesnt proc thornmail so she can effectively evade your antiheal by just qing you and eing the spirit.

Nice tips but there was nothing about destroying her passive tentacles, without them she is much much weaker. And she countered in the laning phase by any range champion
So you need to take short trades to poke her down and then use your burst to kill her when she's low enough. Problem being that she has sustain to heal after trades and she usually wins them anyways by just landing E guaranteed when you're close enough

How to counter her: oneshot her, or dont get hit by her P,Q,R becouse these abilites heal her and its missing health so the lower she gets the more she heals(if I am correct, if not correct me), BTW IT DOESNT MATTER IF U GET HIT BY HER E AS LONG AS SHE DOESNT HAVE P,Q,R. I mean, I really struggle against her. Yeah, if she misses her E, she's weak, not exactly. If she has two or more tentacles around she will still bonk you with W and u'll enter bullet hell mode trying to dodge 3 to 4 tentacle slams coming from different angles. If you take the hit, you lose health and she heals. With a champion without dashes and stuff is nearly impossible to dodge all the tentacles. If you try to kill one tentacle she will E you while you are animation locked on your attack, or just W, even if you kill the tentacle, the slam will still go off, and in 2 seconds she will spawn another tentacle anyway. I mean, I know she's not invencible and many high elo consider her weak, but I myself can't deal with illaoi. I either pick mordekaiser or a ranged top laner if I see one.
Don't let anyone fool you illaoi heals from the dmg she does with her tentacles if she doesn't hit any of them she's not gonna heall punish her when e or r IS on cooldown and she IS not gonna heall so much
There are too many champions. A new player will have so much learning to do before knowing them all well which is important for outplaying and not dying
Fiora is literally the best counter for iillaoi its so much abusing her with fiora
Griveous wounds against illaoi is not usefull in lane, you only feel the effect of it after 15 minutes

Do not fight her on her terms,which is disengage when she ults you or she gets E on you. Illaoi that miss E or R ran out is useless.
You can change the spelling of her name in speech to text like Ilawee so it pronounces it correctly :D
