    Thanks - one of the best drawer videos !!! ... To add a small "trick" if you have a lot of cabinets to fit drawers of different sizes , rather than using a "scrap" panel of plywood to size where the cabinet drawers fit and cutting it to size each time , take a couple of off cuts and cut them to a few pieces of 20cm, a few pieces at 10cm , 5cm , 2cm and 1cm and color code them with some sharpie ... This way you can "build up" a spacer of any size you want rather than "wasting" a lot of panels and sacrificing them as spacers .. if you have 5 cabinets of different drawer sizes you would end up "wasting" 5 different panels of ply (and plywood is NOT cheap these days!)

      @@3x3CustomTamar You’re the last of a dying breed. There has to be someone who’s the last to have this accent. Pretty soon linguists will be contacting you to do interviews to preserve the legacy of your ancient dialect.

      @@3x3CustomTamar I became your fan watching the Records cabinet you made. that was some really out of this world stuff. The resilience, persistence, “evaluating life choices” and finally when the platter got spinning, i was down right 🤯 👏👏🙏

    Any plans for a project that utilize 20 / 30 or 45 deg.angle Joinery ? This seems to be the least addressed type and everything I've seen are for small joints like drawers vs larger pieces that would need strength .

    Very nice looking cabinet. Umm this is unrelated but I really like your floor. What's it called?

    The black paint and walnut combination really stands out. A few thoughts: didn't you consider mitered edges for the module? You have a domino cutter anyway, and although assembly is more difficult, you wouldn't have to struggle with putty afterwards. Visually also more attractive as you don't have plywood end grain. For this kind of furniture I would even consider MDF rather than plywood.

      I considered edge banding it. Then I forgot… ha.

    5:30 cut grooves, was the depth of cut the same in all grooves? You can use "I.D. O.D" , welders technique

    • @3x3CustomTamar
      @3x3CustomTamar  Před rokem

      Depth is the same yes. But I don’t know what that measurement actually is. I just line up the blade to a height that “looks good”

    Good morning Mrs Tamar , you're lucky to be able to get away with such a small filing cabinet , in my home office it's a 4 drawer legal size
    600 pound beast that's almost full 😿 / btw - now your kids know where your secret candy stash is 13:52 - and you've probably been robbed
    and cleaned out by now 😹😸 , Happy Caturday 😸😺

    It’s a beautiful build and the black paint looks like it turned out very smooth. Is there any reason you didn’t edge band the top and bottom of the carcass?

  • @michaelmenard8614
    @michaelmenard8614 Před rokem

    awesome build. I have wanted to make some thing similar to store airbrush paints. I am curious how you came up with the draw heights? is there a generally accepted height, or do you decide how many drawers you want and divide the space evenly?

    • @3x3CustomTamar
      @3x3CustomTamar  Před rokem +1

      Well… I knew I needed the bottom drawer to be tall enough for files. And I knew this needed to fit under the desk. So after those 2 things were works out I could just divide what was left over.
