People filmed my boyfriend and laughed at him. He was working on getting in shape, really sweaty and out of breath, and they were filming and laughing at him behind his back. I was there doing my own workouts and saw them, played along while setting my own phone to record and said "Are you filming that big guy over there?" to which they responded, "Yea, he needs to take his sweaty ass back home". The sweet sound of confirmation. I replied "Yeah, I'm his girlfriend" etc...I yelled at those people for a good 10 minutes, telling them how horrible they were, making sure they deleted the video and deleted it from their deleted folder, and told them to fuck off. Ofc security came because of how loud it got, and once they got confirmation that those assholes were filming people and making fun of them, they were promptly kicked out. My boyfriend didn't really care, but there's no way in hell am I letting people be assholes to someone I love.
I also can't believe people have the audacity to do this shit to people. I wish someone would harass them with cameras anytime they went somewhere, pointing out every flaw, maybe then they'll learn how awful it feels. But I guess victims of bullying should just lighten up 😜

Thank you for standing up for your boyfriend, it takes a lot of mental work to even step foot into a gym when you're not "physically fit" props to your boyfriend for even getting in there.

@@krissi_b it’s what happens when you raise a bunch of first world wimps. They believe that everything should be handed to them just because they exist and that they should never face any consequences because they’re better than everyone else. My family would’ve rung me out to dry if they ever saw me making fun of someone, they taught me to be kind and loving, and if I bullied anyone it would be my ass. Kid, implies minor, in a gym. By an adult. Without their permission or parental permission.
I was traumatized by going to the gym as an overweight woman. Even when going into a great gym where there was no bullying and very women based, it would take me an hour to muster the mental energy to even step foot in there. Personally I thank Joey Swoll for making me feel safer in the gym. I mean just being seen by people, even if I’m walking in a park to exercise, I know I could get filmed. I’ve lost nearly 150lbs from my heaviest and his voice gives me peace of mind from the bullying.

Hey, I would love for you to know two things, and imagine more people are like me, cause I think there are, but I go to the gym and focus on my workout, not other people. The only time I really acknowledge them is in the hot tub or sauna, or possibly at the water fountains.
Also, I think it's really cool you are making a healthy choice for yourself, and I don't judge people for being overweight. I was at one point overweight because I had to stop exercise after a car accident and it made me fat. It took a lot of hours at the gym to get back to my normal weight. You have only things to be proud of, and your body is super capable! Appreciate it. As women we have to do that more.

As a disabled person, I want to pitch in and talk about how much fear people like Nika Godun instill in a lot of us. I feel like this is an important perspective because often it is disabled people being videoed without consent because we "act weird", and for a lot of us, that's made it very scary to go out into the world and do things.
For example, I suffer with something called Functional Neurological Disorder; essentially, my nerves just don't work correctly sometimes for no reason. I experience temporary paralysis in various limbs several times a day; my arms or legs sometimes jerk without me doing it; my hands will sometimes drop the thing I'm holding without my say so; I also have non-epileptic seizures where I just randomly pass out and am fine like five minutes later.
All these things have caused moments in public that have been embarrassing and that cruel people might laugh at.
Several times, my leg has paralyzed itself mid-step and I've just tumbled to the ground hard. Luckily, so far, I've only had good samaritans who helped me up and retrieved my walking stick for me, but next time, it might be some bellend on TikTok who immortalizes it.
Also, once when I was in Wetherspoons with my friends, I was holding up my phone when my hand decided to just drop it by itself and my other hand decided to jerk to the side by itself, and so I ended up dropping my phone into my jerking hand and batting it right at my friend's face. I was so terrified in that moment, and so apologetic and humiliated. And it does sometimes worry me that a moment like this might be on TikTok and I just don't know because I don't have it.
The one that terrifies me the most is the seizures. First time I had them, I ended up having to go to A&E for it and while waiting, I'd had six seizures in the waiting room. Then I had the seventh and I fell at such an angle that my mom couldn't quite grab me before I hit the floor, but my brother tried and ended up lifting my shirt up and exposing my bra to everyone in the room. Obviously, in that moment, that was the last thing on my mind because I was terrified that I had a tumour or a brain bleed. I thought oh my god, I could be dying.
I was also feeling very grateful to the maybe eight other people in the waiting room who jumped up to offer help in anyway they could.
But when I now look back on it with this trend in mind, the fear hits me so hard. As far as I know, no one did film me having a seizure in an unfortunate way that exposed my bra and put it online, but what if something similar happens and someone does film it?
And that makes me scared to go outside and go into public spaces. Earlier today, I was in a craft store while my mom was waiting outside in the car, and the whole time I was just thinking about it. If I had a seizure in there, I'd have no one there at the moment to help me or to shield me from anyone filming it. For all I know, the next time might get 30,000 views on TikTok.
It's not okay to just film people you don't know and upload it to social media. It's just wrong. And that's not getting into other issues like the fact that you risk exposing the location of someone hiding from their abuser.
Also just on the note of suggesting the child was disabled; just no. We don't know if he is disabled and if he is, it should be his choice as to whether he wants to disclose it. He might seem to exhibit symptoms, but one, it is a very short clip and that's all you have to go on, and two, it is weird to publicly speculate about anyone's potential to be disabled.
But also, to Nika Godun saying something akin "you calling him disabled says more about you than me", piss off. Your underlying implication there is that the state of being disabled is an insult and that disabled folks are somehow lower than abled folks. We're not; you're just an ableist bellend. Enjoy your day and be careful not to stumble into that eugenicist mindset on your way home (:

YESSSS! My mom used to say this all the time! She would take me to the mall or walmart or mcdonalds and we would sit on a bench and she would basically just tear down every human that passed. They were fat or ugly or had a bad perm or their clothes were shitty... it was awfully cringe to have to sit there and try to act agreeable when I was horrified. She encouraged me to join in and teased me for not doing it. But she also ridiculed me daily about my hair, my clothes, not wanting to wear makeup, burping, coughing, basically everything. She was a creep.... probably still is but i havent spoken to her in years,

@@ShanaGarrett that's unfortunate... I love to people watch when I'm in the city, but I moreso just Look at people. In college I noticed I was really judgemental and I didn't like that, so I'd force myself to find something to appreciate in my head about every person I passed. Now when I look at people I just see things to appreciate I guess. Like, I can compliment anyone at any time lolol.
Plus watching how different people walk and move reminds me that we're not all that same and that's ok. I am more of an artist now, so I see people more as interconnected shapes rather than Bodies to be Judged.
I'm sorry your mom tried to make you do that instead of like, taking you to a petting zoo or something. She's not only a creep but she's probably miserable. And I'm a pretty miserable person myself lolol but at least talking shit about people isn't one of my hobbies..

The fact is, no matter what you do, you WILL be judged by some people. But the important thing to remember is that those people's opinions don't matter.
I grew up with a narcissist for a parent. They judged *everyone* everywhere all the time. They would point out "ugly" people and make fun of people for their bodies, clothes, things they were doing, etc. And at the core of that judgement was a deep insecurity and desire to be better than other people. That's the type of person that will judge you. Everyone else is busy thinking about their own problems or the things that bring them joy. ❤

I had a very bad experience one time and had to leave my workout early to go cry in the car. People think they are sly and you don’t see them making grossed out faces or mocking you but we see. I also have a fear of changing in the locker room because I’m afraid someone will take a photo or video.
