Buying a Royal Enfield Himalayan • I was not expecting th...
My first was a Grom. I still have that little thing. 😊
My riding buddy and I bought ‘cheap bikes’ 3 years ago to store in the western US for fly and ride trips, mostly TAT/BDR and off-road exploration type riding. He picked a new ‘20 Himilayan and I bought a used ‘19 Honda CB500X. We are both experienced riders of 800-1200cc adv and other type bikes.
In last 3 years of fly n rides we’ve put on 7000 miles in about 34 days of hard mostly off road. His Himilayan has taken a good beating with grace. Only issues have been kickstand failures and a broken rear rack. The lack of power was compounded when we were above 10,000 feet around Alpine loop area in Colorado. Overall he’s pleased with the bike for the price. Just wishes it had a little more sack.
Ive always thought a Yamaha XT250 is the perfect first bike. Low seat height (though sounds like you have long legs), light, and who cares if ya drop it. And when you grow out of it its a great bike to keep in the garage because someday uoull ride it again because it will go anywhere! Enjoyed the video. Cheers!
Thanks for watching and commenting! I totally agree with all your comments!
great honest bike review…. the RE, seems like people either love them or hate them. Light weight, and the fuel economy low price and low maintenance sound like a great combination but like you said, not a long distance, bike or a highway bike. keep up the great vids. it don’t hold a candle to the blue beemer huh!??
Haha yes it's def NOTHING like the beemer!!!
The brakes on the Himalayan are just fine i don't know why people bag them out, if like your self a beginner rider when riding in the dirt (which the bike manly designed for) the last thing you want to do is grab a handful of front brakes to slow you down, I've ridden many different bikes in my time , bikes suited to road (sports bikes) yes then you will want snappy brakes to pull you up , I to own a Himalayan and I find the brakes quite adequate for the power of the bike.
Wind can get pretty turbulent at around 100kph especially on open roads with crosswinds
That's the truth :) Thanks for watching and commenting!
I like my Himalayan.😘 am greetings fromm the Black Forrest!🙋
Hi!!!! So cool!!! I liked it too for fun off reading, I just know I won't be really doing much of that :(
They are cool little bikes. If I was smaller I probably would have tried one. Now I do not feel bad about it. lol Ride safe
No need to ride a Himalayan if you have a Pan America!
I talked to MinnowMoto and he said it's time you get a Pan America! lol
@BikesBeardsAndBrews I'm still unsure about associating with Harley owners in general 🤣
Hi melissa. Please keep an eye out for the Himalayan 450. I hope some of your issues will be resolved.
Have a good day.
