Beautiful AMX with awesome black paint. In 74 I bought a green 70 AMX 360 4-speed w/Go Pack 3.73 posi. It was a burn out machine. I went through many clutches and tires. Very quick, unique, and fun car that drew lots of attention.
I somehow managed to hide this one ! I really do like these AMX's and the engine sounds mighty strong ! You really have to remind mind yourself this is 51 years old ! It still looks much more modern than it should ! Yes sir ! Someone's going to enjoy this pocket rocket ! Thanks Jay .
Love it, remember them when they came out, my sister had a new Red AMC Javelin. Like the AMX better. "American Motors X-perimental" Looks wicked in black, definitely a hard choice in 70 of that over a 70' Vette.. The only draw back are parts. Wish AMC had a bigger budget, company would've lasted longer.

A desirable car for sure and REALLY like the pics taken outdoors. You should include a least a few exterior pics taken outdoors in every listing v. only under the florescent lights. Maybe not in the case here with a black car, but with other vehicles the exterior paint colors show much differently inside v. outdoor lighting.
i really think these cars were unappreciated. They are a sharp car with style, attitude and a muscle look. I would buy to drive , but thats not good. But how could you buy this and not drive it. only collectors can do that, me I am using it , my daily driver. 😀

Do not insult this car with especially the fucking pinto comment. C'mon man...those door handles were AMC design standard issue on many of their cars for a decade. Freakin pinto...jeeezus.
Basically 12 inches, off the rear,, the doors,front fenders and hood is all interchangeable from 68 to 70. But rear quarters are cut short but have a nice aerodynamic flow to them.
Nice car, but is it worth $52k? Volvo has some great cars but most are on consignment and are over priced. It’s till fun to go there and look around and dream

mine was identical in looks but was a 360 w/ borg warner - kind of a dog really -did no handle well -but my buddy had the 390 4 speed -big difference

What was the difference with the Javelin and the AMX ?
The Javelin had a longer wheelbase and was a 4 seater, the AMX had a shorter wheelbase and was a 2 seater.
