  • Finally had some time to chase some Pike! I have never fished for Pike on this lake, so I just went exploring, fishing anything that looked like it would hold some Pike. I honestly think Pike is one of my favorite species to fish for!

I've always found on any pike water, at least until late June, a good pattern is to find major spawning areas are and just figure out how far the majority of the fish are likely to have dispersed the since spawn. I find the dispersal is typically mud bottom bays, to shallow rocky flats, weeds as they come in and then deeper water. Just how I make sense of the way various spots on my home waters produce well at various times, and whenever I hit new water it seems to work.

Excellent tips, well done. Pike fishing is so much fun. I sort of lob really big baits, often with a sidearm motion, never have broke a rod casting, only with accidents. In a couple instances, losing a couple inches off the tip *improved* the action, making a nice, heavier niche rod. I also mash down the barbs. The 4-Play lip lure is also great, but I don't see it in the link. Hope they haven't discontinued it.

Nice video 💪 good to see the bigger pikes are fat and healthy, need to be some 20-30lbs Northern in that lake. Wondering - in the late summer we often fish dropoffs from 25 to 35ft that goes to more deep cold water. The bigger pike here often feed on 40-50cm wallye, whitefish and borbout in and over deep water during summer. I know you have more different baitsfish than us in Scandinavia but is anyone trying fish with big rubber 10-15" on the deeper edges?

Not to be rude... Because i love your videos.... And your content overall is top of the food chain .... But how about some new species... Pike and walleye are great.... And trout are always good.... But man o man id love to see a whitefish cisco burbot video.... Here in michigan i can catch pike all day every day and i guess they have lost their flair.... Just lookin for something new bud thanks for the great vids regardless!

I hear ya! If you go through my videos, I do have some stuff on Cisco, Perch, Stocked Trout, Rock Bass, Smallmouth, Largemouth, Pike, Walleye, Lake Trout... I do try to mix it up. Sometimes I need to fish for what I can at the time. Appreciate you watching the videos!!

@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Hi Clayton love your videos. Yourself Jay and Tom have the best videos on You Tube. The reason why I ask is because the record books are based on pounds not inches so I always want to compare the length with the weight. Don’t worry I always ask Jay and Tom as well. Hey you where killing me this summer with so few vids. Love your work Clayton
