Soo was born Goro Suzuki on a ship traveling in the Pacific Ocean from the United States to Japan in 1917. His parents lived in Oakland, California, and they decided that as he was the oldest boy, they wanted to have him born in Japan. He graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a degree in English. He lived in Oakland until ordered into internment along with other Japanese Americans during World War II. He was sent to the Topaz War Relocation Center in Utah. His fellow internees recalled him as a "camp favorite," an entertainer singing at dances and events.
He was also a popular singer, but because of anti-Japanese sentiment, he was billed as Chinese. He and Kaye Ballard played on the same bill. It is a shame he never had the opportunity to sing on the show, but neither did Hal Linden, who was a big band and Broadway singer.
I think I understand why the had intermittent camps but I think 🤔 that it would have had been sad for natural born citizens of f the USA 🇺🇸 and even to the Japanese born who later moved and truly loved and enjoyed living here. 😢😢😢😢

This goes from the original script where she wanted Barney off the force due to danger. But now she has that type job so it doesn’t justify the divorce. Lack of continuity in writing
Strange that Harris could afford a 250$ suit, at that time, my dad was paying 180$ a month rent for 2 bedrooms, yet they couldn't get good coffee, and afford a proper fan for the summers, heh. Who? Doesn't know how to make a pot of coffee ☕ weird 😅

My heart does not bleed for ex-cons. I love this show but it has a bit of a "progressive" bent. Inspector Luger is the best and most pragmatic character.
Lugar basically believed the cops should have carte blanche to beat the crap out of a perp. Problem is see, doesn't work so well with the whole "innocent until proven guilty" in a court of law thing that we have.
Mrs Barney Miller, most extraordinarily unnecessary and lackluster characters of all time. It’s not why she’s there but why she remained for sooo long.
The original script called for Barney to be seen at home. The writers did not seem familiar with family life like they seem to be with police stations. Barney tried to protect his family while they wanted to prove they could handle the world. As for the lady cops. Their research indicated the steotypes they presented. The ladies acted like they suffered from discrimination. Some areas wouldn’t let them on the street.
As with most sitcoms at the time, they made changes from the original script. I personally liked seeing their chemistry, but as things moved completely to the squad room, it was tricky to have her just drop by all the time. But we got an understanding of his home life, and his passion for his wife and that was good.
Some creators will purposely spell words wrong or, pronounce words wrong, etc... Because people will correct them in the comments, thus "poking" the algorithms, which helps grow their channel. Food for thought...

Inspector Luger was a trip. Great character actor!
I absolutely loved his character! 😅 Great actor from the Golden Age of Hollywood too.
It came across as closeted. I didn't know that the reason Mike was not around was because he had passed.
I had a boss who talked just like him. He became the chief. I didn't see this show until after I left the department. I should've stayed.
One of the great characters. He's just perfect.

YES!!!
Unfortunately CZcams thinks a whole episode of CHEERS, is whole 5 monutea
The detective called Mike was only on the show a short while. I barely remember him. Fish was funny on this.Glad I watched every ep new.
I thought Fish was a one-note character.
I love that when fish said it's menopause I caught it from Bernice. You can see Barney almost couldn't hold it together😂
When times were easier !!
Not really.
Love seeing this older New York skyline. Left me sad seeing the Towers. But "Barnie Miller", how nostalgic, thanks.
That theme music is still the jimmie-jammmm!
Hilarious Hogans Hero's is another one of the classics.
Love Hogan's Heroes!!
Love this theme song.
Opening shot of the Twin Towers on a clear, sunny day. ♡ :(
Liz whining about Barney sending in a car to check on her but she constantly whining about Barney being a police officer!
I JUST SAW EDITH DIAZ ON ANOTHER COMEDY ALSO GIVING BIRTH, THIS TIME IT WAS IN PHOENIX AT MEL'S DINER!!!GARY BAILEY KING OF DARKNESS
