      Thanks! I find horn to be one of the most complicated instruments, and, as technically a child, I find it very a good instrument for me to have started on! I play a few others, but French horn is definitely superior. 💗✨

    What are your best exercises to gain upper octave range? I’ve tried slurs for God knows how long, and it just isn’t showing improvement, I’ve tried the Kopprasch warmups, the 335 technical and melodical studies book, I just don’t know what to do. Leafeon Plays You just made me realize I need to practice a bit more. The highest note I can hit clearly is an Ab above the staff. On the good days. I'm going to go get my 40 hours of practice a day now

    • @peep__4387
      @peep__4387 Před 4 lety

      OHNOSHE DIDNT Range isn’t as important for a French horn player. As long as you can get like a high A consistently/clearly, then you’re good. Tone, style, and rhythm are the three most important things.

    • @peep__4387
      @peep__4387 Před 4 lety

      OHNOSHE DIDNT if you’re French horn principal player in high school, the highest note you’ll have to hit is an A. It needs to be clean and consistent tho. Range is more of a trumpet thing, we’re expected to have an insane range.
