The Golpayegan petroglyph from 10,000-12,000 years ago shows a greyhound on the back of a horse with a hunter and a hawk.
In the archeological findings of Sush, Chaghamish and Tepe Sabez in the west of Iran and Mianrodan, many pottery with the image of a greyhound running and hunting have been found, among which we can count this 6-7 thousand-year-old vessel in the Louvre Museum. Greyhound and mountain goat pottery
In some terracotta dishes, we find images of greyhounds chasing animals such as deer, deer, and antelope, which are painted with great subtlety and in an abstract style. Pottery found from Tell Bakun near Persepolis has exhibited unique examples of hound paintings from 4200 to 3800 BC. Slender body, long and elongated arms and legs, narrow muzzle and tail-like tail are all prominent features of greyhounds that are written on these pottery.

@donnybrasco9330 nope bro they're known as afghan hound they use it in the west for a show here in Afghanistan we keep them as shepherd dogs protecting herds and farms and we let them roam around freely in the wild we don't keep them at small places

Fun fact: This dog is called *afghan* in europe and *tazi* (arab) in Afghanistan.
It’s called Afghan hound and its called taazi by iranians and afghans and taazi doesn’t mean Arab it means the sprinter
