"Job 31:2 For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high? "
In the above verse job speaks about an inheritance that comes from God. In this world parents are leaving inheritance to their children. In this way our God is preparing an inheritance to his children in heaven. At Paul says that inheritance is kept in heaven( 2corin 5:1).Even David says about this inheritance ( PS 16:6 ....I have a Godly heritage) .Jesus said I go to prepare a place for you (John 14:2).
By keeping this inheritance in his mind Job made a determination that
"Job 31:1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid? ". Esu lost his birth right (inheritance) for one time partridge. He sold it to his brother Issac. How is our state now?
Jesus said If a man look at a woman with lust already he has committed with that woman.such people will loose their inheritance. Likewise let us make covenant with each and every member of our body and lead a holy life which is pleasing to our Lord.
"Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.5:29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.5:30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
"
Then we will obtain that inheritance which is kept in heaven. An old testament saint Job had such zeal, how much more we must be zeal for God and his holiness?. If we lead life with such determination, then god will say
"Psalm 50:5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. "
