An idea I've considered is working at the place that has the events so you can learn what goes into the event. For example I want to start a business planning golf events. So I could work at a golf course during one of their events and see all the tasks that need to be done during an event. I could work there for the day or volunteer with the club or even with the people holding the event.

How can I do a event planner cause
To find clients on a bare budget. Should I cold call? I have a laptop and cell phone can I start? I have to make money ASAP. This is a dream and I am in a situation where I must make this work. But I don't have anything but my laptop and phone to start. Can I make this happen. Im willing to go all in with nothing to lose.
Yes absolutely you can cold call local venues and vendors to introduce yourself and ask for referrals. Tell them about what you do and make it appealing for them to send referrals your way. You can also walk into hotels and venues near you for the same types of deals. You sound very motivated to hit the ground running so I recommend you craft your pitch and get started. Good luck!
