Oh my goodness, when Hannah and Arianna looked at each other and hugged grandpa. My heart! What a special day with loved ones. It is clear that love runs deep in your family, as it should be. It makes me happy that your kids still have grandparents to enjoy!
I cried through this entire dedication and video. So very sorry to Aaron and your entire family. To open gifts your mom picked out and not having her there in person must have been so hard. Your bonus dad is so amazing. All those gifts yr after yr for the children and they put so much thought into it. The photos you gave him meant the world to him. I cried. As someone who has lost both parents and my brother, this really choked me up.
Crystal that was so sweet to take John around and show him all the lights. My heart goes out to you all. Aaron's mom was so generous, kind, loving and sweet. May she rest with the angels and always watch over you all.

I love that Aaron has Joy and the kids around to help him through this rough time. It's also amazing that you guys have so many videos and pictures to remember things with Aarons mom it's amazing and so good to see her and hear her voice. Aaron needs a food processor for his ideas like potatoes abd stuff.
The amount of tears I shed on this one... whew! Having lost my mom 21 years ago... I can honestly say, it does get easier... and yet, that hole in your heart can never be filled by anyone or anything else. You have my prayers, Aaron. To the family, love on him, yes... but also, give him space to be alone when need be. Grief is a journey... and no two journeys will look the same. You have my heartfelt prayers, Aaron. Trusting God to help you find moments of joy and rest as you navigate the days ahead.

I understand the pain that you guys are all experiencing right now. My nan passed away at the start of July unexpectedly, however she hadn’t been well for a while. This was our first Christmas without her and it was very emotional. Merry Christmas to you guys and I hope you’re all doing well 💜

I am so sorry for your loss! I lost my my mom right before my 30th birthday. It was the night of thanksgiving when she passed from heart failure from Parkinson’s. It was very hard especially with my birthday right before Christmas. So I understand how hard it is. Especially when my niece was born after she passed not even a month after. Christmas was hard for me after that for a long time. Because I was missing that person who made it special, but my son kept me going and he is a new years baby. So I had to keep going even though it was hard especially that first year. It’s been 11 years since I lost her and it’s still has its moments. I don’t think we can ever get over our loss of a parent we just learn to live without them. It’s hard but you will eventually get a little better, but it will still out of nowhere hit you. I can really feel Aaron sorrow. It's hard when you lose someone important in your life, it's like you lost a piece of you and you can't get it back. I feel that especially in the holidays but it's part of life. in time the ones who are still there will fill the emptiness and you have a big family that can help you get through it. Carol had this whole community as an extended family, I've lived her since she first appeared in the vlogs, a long with Grandpa John, she was such an amazing lady, mom and grandmother, the love she had for everyone was so beautiful.
I am so very sorry for your loss.
This was my first Christmas without my mom, she passed away Sept 5 with dementia, my heart goes out to you all.

I have lost both my parents, mom 5 years ago and dad 28 years. I can't even say I understand your pain..Loss yes, but pain, no. everyone's pain is different and they behave differently..I want to saw how deeply sorry I am. Loss of mom is so difficult. Just be good to yourself, take time, eat, shower and breath..Take it day by day..The ups and downs will last a life time. It never gets better, it gets different..Bless you all. Losing a loved one is never easy!! Around the holidays is even harder. My husband passed away in December 22nd of ‘O5. Even with all the years that have gone by it hasn’t been the same since…..

I usually watch your vlogs during my lunch breaks. I really had to speed through a bunch of this one because I started tearing up and the crying look isn't pretty while at work. But since the first skim through I have sat and watched this again from start to finish and I have to say this is one really beautiful story you have told through love and imagery. My heart goes out to Aaron, John, Crystal and the rest of the family. Together is where you all belong.

The first Christmas without a loved one can be so hard but I know the love of all those beautiful grandchildren helped lift GrandPa. Honestly GrandMa was there, her spirit was in the smiles, the hugs and love surrounding you all.
I believe the same thing. Three years ago my Mum passed away from cancer the day after Christmas. I suddenly started seeing feathers everywhere and I knew it was Mum letting Dad and I know she is still with us. On the anniversary of her death Dad called me to the kitchen and there were eight little birds doing figure eights dipping up and down so fast for at least an hour. One month and a day later Dad passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep. After that I stopped seeing feathers and I felt it was because they are up in heaven so happy, pain free and even though I'm terminally ill they know I've fought illness my whole life and that 13 years ago my lifelong specialists gave me two years at the most to live so I'm strong and when the right time comes I'll see them again. Thank you for reminding me of the peace I have because of the small signs that let me know I'm not alone.

Oh I welled up when John took in the pics in the frame. Himself and Arianna have a good relationship, she keeps him upbeat,i know the kids are all special to him. Just he needs someone to keep the banter going. I remember grandma from her times on here over the years,she was a gem,a really mothering nature. Aaron you have done her proud,she is always with you.

OMG it is breaking my heart to see your sad face Aaron, I have been there and ironically the throwback year was 2018 and that is the year my Mom passed away, I hope you take consolation in all the messages of love been sent your way and hope you had a lovely Christmas (I know it is not easy). Just watched to the end and even though I never knew your Mom Aaron, she always seemed like a really sweet and kind person, I'm crying the whole way through that video cause it was so emotional

Pettit family I'm so sorry for the loss of your mom and grandma. I truly felt the love from all of you in this entire video. I was crying while watching. It so hard to lose someone so close to you. I lost my mom when I was 18 and I lost my grandma when I was 30. The 1st holiday of every holiday without is the hardest. It doesn't get easier but you learn to live with it unfortunately. I know she was smiling down on you all this Christmas. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Pettit family.

The year first is very hard after losing a loved one. I lost my mom to cancer in 2018 when I was 19 month before my 20th birthday. Aaron, take as much time as you need to grief. The one thing that sucks about grief is it will sneak up on you no matter how long the loved one has been gone for. Just take each day one day at a time. May your mother rest in peace no more suffering in pain

This might sounds really weird but ive been breaking glass an unusual amount lately, including on Christmas morning so i looked up what the meaning could be and i found out that some peoople believe its someone communicating with you from the afterlife. I found that comforting, especially on Christmas morning when i was thinking of lost loved ones.
I just want to hug each one of you and say I love you for sharing your life’s with us for all these years . I’m looking for many more . I’m 64 and 65 Jan 12 and I’ve been alone for years for all holidays . My kids are busy and I’ve not seen them since my Mums funeral in Nov 2018 . They just don’t call or visit because I stay so sick . So enjoy your precious family and God bless .

Grandma had a fantastic life, so much love was bestowed on her, and she certainly felt the love and devotion of her grand chldren, which is the most precious gift of all. You all gave her a wonderful life full of heartwarming memories and the best of times.

Those king Hawaiian rolls are great to cut out the center and put spinach dip in the center. Precut bite size pieces by slicing the bread like you would a bread bowl. It’s a holiday staple! Merry Christmas ❤

I’ll be honest, I almost didn’t watch this. This is my first Christmas without my mom, too. It’s so hard and I miss her terribly. I wasn’t sure I could get through this, but I’m glad I decided to watch. This was a beautiful tribute to her and I felt the love that you showered on John. I can tell Ariana is struggling with it, as well. Make sure she’s getting extra loves while she’s home. She’ll need it to fortify her when she leaves.
My suggestion with the broken glass in the frame is to take a piece of glass from another part of the frame to the dollar store and find another frame the same size. Use that glass as a replacement. Or the thrift store might have a piece of glass from a frame that would work. 🤷🏼♀️. Voila!
