    Astros had a strong 2017 season, for sure we're gonna at least contend for the AL or possibly another WS. Verlander and the new kid Cole is a deadly combo, lots of strikes and great infield players. Apart from that, out Altuve, Springer, Bregman combo is just deadly, definitely lots of homers this season. Excited to see our boys make us proud

      I think the Yankees are going to surprise people...and not in the way that you'd expect. I don't trust their pitching at all and the Red Sox won 93 games last year with a lot of things going wrong. Think the Red Sox will win the AL East and the Indians will win the whole AL. Talked about the whole upcoming MLB season on my channel today.

    I think it’s possible they add another pitcher via trade. But they need to wait for the right offer. Apparently they offered Clint Frazier, Chance Adams, and Tyler Wade and still couldn’t get Michael Fulmer. That’s plenty for a pitcher that’s not even among the best.

    • @MrSkyboy997
      @MrSkyboy997 Před 6 lety

      They don't score runs but how many teams do you see out there make it without a good pen? I get that the Indians lost back in 2016 but they had a very mediocre offense and Corey Kluber was their only healthy and reliable starter yet their loaded pen got them all the way to game 7.

    Houston won over 100 games with most of the team injured and no Verlander. McCullers, Correa, Keuchel, McHugh all missed time. Mike Fiers led the team in innings and Marwin Gonzalez led them in RBI because of all the injuries. I could see up to 110 wins. Playoffs, that's a coin flip, who knows?

      There’s a massive assumption in your statement, you ought to broaden your horizons a bit. Your statement would have some validity but for the assumption that *if everyone stays healthy this year, they could win 110 games*. Or, they could suffer more injuries this year than last, end up with 93 wins.

    • @isaacfuentes2770
      @isaacfuentes2770 Před 6 lety +1

      Hollowman that statement was very stupid the whole purpose of sayin if we stay healthy we can win 110 but we obviously know that injuries can derail a team

    • @heidi7151
      @heidi7151 Před 6 lety +3

      Hollowman
      I'm saying WITH injuries last year, to the players named, they won over 100. They made many free agent upgrades (Cole, Smith, Rondon) plus having Verlander for the year. So yes, speaking of horizons, it is possible they could win up to 110.

    it's very difficult make predictions based on "last years performances", everything can happen along six months, and I don't want to write about injuries and slumps. De Rosa and Farrrell just missed by one team (at the end of season, Angels and Twins couldn't even win 81 games, and they even mentioned the Oakland Athletics as the surprise team). Results: The Red Sox ALE champs again; Cleveland ALC champs again; Astros ALW champs again; Yankees WC1 again; Oakland WC2.

    No one expected it but the Toronto blue jays won the 2018 World Series defeating the New York mets. The series was excellent, American League cy young runner up Aaron Sanchez wins the World Series MVP with a couple of dominant 8 inning performances. NL cry young winner was said to be the closest player to win World Series MVP on a losing team in decades after a dominant game 1 complete game shutout tallying 17 strikeouts, then a game 4 complete game 1 run performance with 15 strikeouts and a 4 inning relief appearance in game 7 which went to 15 innings. Mike trout will have a down year for not only Mike trout standards but for just regular standards. Carlos correa will win the AL MVP after hitting 37 home runs with 123 rbis while batting a god like .356 with an ops of 1.132. Aaron Sanchez's cry young caliber season came close but in the end not even the voters could ignore the incredible breakout year Lucas giolito had with the sub .500 white sox. He posted a 2.21 era in 214 innings pitched while recording 231 strikeouts with a robust 0.89 WHIP. Shoehei otani had a decent first year but for what was expected of him everyone considered it a disappointment after hitting 14 home runs and batting a respectable .267 in 192 at bats. Pitching wise he posted a 3.89 ERA in 157 innings pitched with 152 strikeouts, still however claiming the rookie of the year award. The Minnesota Twins left a lot fans shaking their heads after not meeting expectations after a breakout 2017 finishing with a 81-81 record, still not bad but far less then hoped for. After an impressive final 2 months of 2017 everyone had thought Byron buxton had turned into the player everyone thought he was going to be be and they were......... kind aright. Buxton put up a somewhat above average season mashing 23 dongs while driving 85 and batting .273 and stealing 31 bases en route to wining his second gold glove and finishing 15th in MVP voting. While people can consider his 2017 season a breakout it seems Andrew Ben intends had his true breakout in 2018 belting 28 homers driving in 104 runs while batting .290 and owning an OPS of .945 to finish 3rd in MVP votes. Although Mike trouts 23 home run 72 RBI .278 performance with a 3.4 WAR was extremely disappointing, by far the biggest disappointment was the New York Yankees and they're expectations. Aaron judge did hit 37 home runs but batted only .236. Meanwhile Giancarlo Stanton obtained a season ending ankle injury 47 games into the season, but he was on the right track hitting 15 home runs before the occurrence. The only bright spot for the team was rookie call up gleybor Torres who batted .321 in 430 plate appearances. In the NL the mets would take the pennant as mentioned before behind staff ace and already stated cy young winner Noah Syndergaard. This surprised a lot of people including many vegas casinos which lost a record amount of money from World Series mets bets. Thor put up a 2.56 ERA in 204 innings while striking out a league leading 312 batters. A number I couldn't have even predicted. Matt Harvey bounced back into the scene posting a 3.32 ERA in 167 innings collecting 170 strikeouts. Jacob degrom also put up impressive numbers which solidified himself as the mets workhorse, mowing through 241 innings striking out 232 and posted a 3.01 ERA. The MVP award belonged to Bryce Harper as he proved himself in his walk year hitting 45 home runs supporting a .310 batting average and driving in 110 runs. He also led the league in OPS with 1.293. Many expected Freddie freeman to take the award but he unfortunately split too many votes with rookie of the year Ronald Acuna. Freeman drove in a league leading 142 RBI while mashing 42 dongs and batting .293 while acuna hit 21 home runs drove in 98 stole a league leading 52 bases and batted an impressive .287 and won a gold glove in the process. The braves suprised many by becoming the leagues second wild card team finishing with a 88-74 record. The cubs were the most disappointing team in the NL after missing the playoffs with a 86-76 record. Injuries from Anthony Rizzo, Jon Lester, Jose Quintana, Javier Baez, Wilson contreras and various bullpen arms played a huge factor in that and many people were suprised that they finished with a record like that. If it wasn't for a full year of health and his 43 home run bat they probably would have Been sub .500. Andrew Mccutchen was the biggest bounce back of all the majors reshaping into his MVP form hitting .310 with 21 homers and 83 RBI, but his fellow newly aquired teammate Evan longoria however did not. Batting a dissapointing. .229 while only hitting 13 home runs. The 2018 off-season lived up to the hype seeing Bryce Harper sign a record 14 year $419 million dollar contract with the phillies. The phillies also took a more significant step towards contention as they traded bounce back prospect Mickey moniak who was now ranked #9 by MLB pipeline along with other players for nationals co ace Stephen Strasbourg. The most dissapointing contract by far was manny machados whose deal was still massive but not as everyone expected after he settled for 8 years and 210 million as a shortstop for the Toronto blue jays, after the significant loss of Donaldson to the Yankees and it was clear that top prospect bo bichette would be a future second basemen. The biggest sellers were the San Francisco giants as they traded ace Madison Bumgarner to the Minnesota twins fo the #4 prospect Royce Lewis as they were looking for immediate contention. They also traded franchise catcher buster posey to the Boston Red Sox as they geared up for an all or nothing World Series run. The biggest loss was Clayton Keyshawn as he decided to opt out of his contract even after yet another season of back injuries limited him to 28 starts. He decided to go where he thought he could win a World Series as he clearly throught the dodgers were cursed and ended up in Milwaukee with the brewers on a 6 year 210 million dollar deal. Notable occurrences included the NL picking up the DH and the MLB announcing it would expand to 32 teams with Montreal and Las Vegas both being approved for teams to be eligible to play by the 2022 season. The top prospects at the end of the season were 1. Vlad Jr 2. Mackenzie Gore 3. Hunter Greene 4. Royce Lewis 5. Bo Bichette. Also even though wanted to play until he was 50, Ichiro Called it quits after a marvellous season where in the city in which it all began. The Tampa bay rays also got a new stadium deal so they ain't gonna be in that shithole anymore. Have in 2019, sincerely Future self.

      Last time I checked baseball has 162 games in a season. But I’m with you. I think they Yankees won’t take it as easy as people think, if they do at all. I believe Boston will still win the east Yankees look good but they still have some problems they need to work out and they have a new skipper so it might get a little bumpy this year.

    If the Blue Jays can get Tulowitzki back and for everyone to stay healthy, they could make the playoffs. They have many different types of players who can all do different things, and their pitching and bullpen got much better. They also have less key players on the disable list.

      @Teelay Před 6 lety

      Manuel Filimon Tulo isn’t the player he was when he came to Toronto in 2015. I’m glad the Jays are playing well right now but they don’t have the same firepower the Yankees and Red Sox have.
