- This edit is kind of similar to my Nighmare on Elm Street edit. H2 feels very dreamlike. The setting is basically a liminal space (empty Hospital) which only adds to the dreamy look. When I was just at the start of my horror journey I actually considered this movie as one of the scarier ones because it felt kind of weird. So yeah there's something about this movie that's uncanny for me idk. So here's another dreamy or rather nightmarish edit!

Wow, I might be biased, but this particular edit of yours was something extra special. I love the split screen effect, with the pumpkin opening up to reveal its sinister contents as the madness escalated, along with the volume increasing and frame zooming in. But you're right, there is something stark about H2, set in a place where death is common already within its whitewashed walls. Even the gunshots and glass shattering sounded hollow, and when he stalked the halls, it was as if he were walking the corridors of his own "unconscious mind." Everything was without reason or rhythm, stripped bare of conscience, all primal instinct and shock, trapped within a cold exterior that never relents. Well done, the timing and mood of this was truly fantastic, I felt like I was floating in a strange and new, but dangerous world, seeing one of my favorite movies for the first time. 🎃🔪
I'm glad you liked it so much🙂. There's actually a theory that H2 is Lauries nightmare. Normally, I hate dream theories. But in this case it's quite logical if you look at certain scenes. For example that parking lot scene in which Laurie was only able to scream as soon as Loomis closed the door. Not being able to scream or run is very common in dreams. Things like that combined with the already mentioned setting really give it a surreal feeling. And don't forget how some of the death scenes take place in a literally completely DARK room, like that bleeding nurse. She's just laying in this dark void. I love surreal imagery and I've always loved this opening. H2 and H3 have the best openings in my opinion, they are both so eerie😩🎃
@@pichaelpyers1738 I remember reading that Jamie Lee Curtis hated the part where she couldn't scream until it was too late, she thought the concept was "silly." 😅 I suppose she was supposed to be frozen in fear. And YES, I loved seeing that one scene with the nurse bleeding out, it was such a hugely gruesome, yet silent death. Just opening the door to reveal utter carnage inside, but it was oddly contained, which made it all the more unsettling. Not to mention, it really showed the extent of Michael's intuitive intelligence--he managed to set up an IV, no doubt having seen it done a million times in the mental institution. Just like him unlocking the door in H20, driving a car, etc. Always gotta watch out for the quiet ones, they know everything 💀

The first Halloween was really low budget, I can imagine that they just weren't able to make a second one right away, even if they wanted to. Plus, they could never have dreamt that Halloween 1 would be THAT sucessful. I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro to edit my videos :)
