You’re so right. Losing 30% of my hair over the last year was so stressful and scary. I’ve always had thick and long hair so after going blonde and stressing my hair I no longer take it for granted. I have also been doing my best to focus on eating healthier, taking hair vitamins, massaging my scalp with oils nightly and using really moisturizing deep conditioners and styling products. It’s finally thickening up and I hope it grows back quickly.

To answer your question a paraben is a preservative that prevents fungi from growing in consumer products but the reason people say it’s not curly girl friendly is because it can cause side effects to the body specifically there are studies that say parabens are linked to cancer. I lost at least 30% of my hair to protein overload last year and was absolutely rocked by it. By the way, I recommend a Wet Brush for detangling - just as gentle as finger detangling. So good!
Glad you tested this products. I tried them years ago and love them. I haven't tried the Spiralicious Gel, but I will. The texture looks similar to the Curlmix Gel. As always, both heads of curls are curl fantabulous!

Sorry for posting on an older video but I was amazed by the Rockin Ringlets! I purchased the sample size of 10 products and I used the gentle lather shampoo, the aloeba conditioner and the spiralicious cream too! I scruched out the crunch with the oil blend. I have to have a full size of the rockin ringlets now! I still have a full size of the RR! Thanks for reviewing this line!
I first used Jessicurl when they first came out. Their products were packaged in green bottles back then. I loved them. They are, however, way too pricy for my budget these days, and so I stick to my regular shampoos, regular rinse-out conditioners, and spend a little more on my stylers (which are usually Shea Moisture these days).
Marleen G. Sounds like a great compromise. I always say, you don’t have to use designer shampoos and conditioners. Save your money, there and spend it on the stylers. 🤓🦁💕➰-LoriAnne

I’ve been wanting to try JessiCurl, specifically the light and luminous line since my hair gets weighed down easily. As I’m watching this video I ended up doing the math lol and it’s $14.66 per product if you buy the collection, which isn’t bad. Devacurl supercream is $28 for like 5 ounces so when you compare, JessiCurl isn’t too bad.

I may have to try Jessicurl. The Rocking Ringlettes is basically just a thinner flaxseed gel, and I make my own thick and just the way I like it. I would never use a thin flaxseed gel by itself. But I'll have to try the Spiralicious. Humidity in South Florida is no joke.
Parabens are esters of para-hydroxylbenzoic acids, hence the name, paraben. Chemically, they kill or inhibit growth of a wide range of organisms.
But every product on the shelf needs a preservative. And some preservative are worst than parabens healthwise.

Actually, neither of their cleansers have sulfates. Sometimes I use the Hair Cleansing Cream and sometimes I use the Gentle Lather Shampoo. Both make a nice lather.

TaylorAnn I feel where you have been girlie! This past fall I had a terrible setback with buildup from the water in our dorm. I had so much buildup that I had shampoo residue for months. My hair was chronically dry and none of my products worked because they foamed up from the shampoo. I almost chopped it off. All I can say is thank God for apple cider vinegar because it saved my hair. I definitely want to try out Jessicurl now! You ladies should look into products from SheScentit. They are black owned, super moisturizing, but most of their products are lightweight. I think you would love them!

Yess Taylor I love your hair! 😍 soo happy you love these products because I do too they're soo good, it's gonna be my go to as well. It's unfortunate LoriAnne didn't like them 🙁 I definitely don't think you should one and done the styling creams because they don't have hold so the curl definition won't last. You can use any styler with the gel on top and if you work on soaking wet hair maybe you'll have better results. It seems to me that they're sold in certain salons, their website and Amazon.

Okay there were so many funny things that happened in this video. First of all TaylorAnne's eyes when LoriAnne was showing us some of the product. Hi ladies. Good to see you. TaylorAnne, I am so glad you discovered what the problem was with your hair. I am protein sensitive too and I found out pretty early about that. I have been told that many low porosity curlies are protein sensitive. I am also low porosity. This looks like a great line. I went on their website and you are right, information overload. You can order free samples, so I did that today. That is a great idea for customers but also shows the confidence of the company in their product. Curls a poppin" again. LoriAnne, did you try your daughter's exact styling regimen? I can't imagine why you wouldn't get the same results as her since your hair types are super similar. Thanks for your review.
Hi Karen! Yes! I forgot to mention that in the video but you can get free samples from them to try the product which is a great feature! I think more companies should get on the wave. & yes, I’m definetly staying away from protien for now while my hair recovers, I’m glad I’ve been able to turn it around. LoriAnne did not do my exact regimen either of the times she’s used JessiCurl, the Confident Coils was suppose to elongate that’s why she opted for that, she probably should have used it with the gel for more hold. Although it appears that we have similar curls, they are different lol, hers are definetly healthier and the curls are tighter and shorter. So it does happen that products I love, she doesn’t and vice versa. I’m not mad though, because I love JessiCurl and the bottles are only 8oz, not big enough for two people to share constantly so 😂🤷🏽♀️ -TaylorAnne

Kristina Rogers Thank you so much for the feedback. Fairy knots are a sign that your hair needs a trim. That problem should clear itself up once you get a trim. Dusting is the process of grazing off the ends that stick off of each individual curl. It’s time consuming but effectively will “buy you a little time before having to get a hair cut, perhaps a few weeks to a month, but not much more (in my case). There are videos on CZcams that show this process. I believe I watched a video on Naturally Curly once and learned a little something. I dusted about a week ago but I still feel I need a professional trim in all honesty. Sooner rather than later. 💕➰-LoriAnne

Hi girls, great video again😘I also tried some products from Jessicurl and i find the products do not moisturize my hair. I think the reason is because the products don't contain much oils, it feels very watery when putting it in my hair.I think that the Devacurl products are similair qua consistency.I never tried Devacurl by the way. I keep using ingredients with more moisturzing ingredients even if my hair is fine, but with watery products my hair stays dry.😁
HI Lisa! Yes, I would agree that overall the JessiCurl products are on the lighter side, maybe that’s why LoriAnne got some frizz and felt dryness her hair is a bit thicker than mine. Probably best to stick to what works for your hair lol thank you for watching us! ❤️

OAN-parabens are chemicals used as preservatives….similar to how processed food has preservatives to stabilize it..keep it from going bad. Hi Jaden! I am going through protien overload. I explained in the video what I’ve been doing to counteract this, but I’ll tell you again here, I’ve been deep conditioning twice a week, as well as sealing my ends with castor oil. With protien overload ive had an excessive amount of fairy knots, so when detangling I finger detangle, as well as use a brush and a fine tooth comb, to make sure I really get all the knots out. Lastly, I’ve been makin sure I do not put products in my hair that have protien in them. -TaylorAnne

Are these protein free? I’m going through protein overload as well .. I’m not really getting breakage but I barely have curl and my hair stays dry 😩
Tara M when is time you trimmed your ends? Have you ever tried to deep condition while steaming your hair? Do you know about the L.O.C method? Are you drinking enough water? Ever try spray aloe vera on your hair as a leave in? Are you coconut oil sensitive? Just some questions to think about? And don't forget to sleep with a silk or satin covering you hair so you have lasting moisture obtain it. Good luck with your hair.
Tara M Yes Ma’am they are protein free. TaylorAnne is going through protein overload so she definitely wouldn’t being using these products if they had protein in them. These are safe from protein 👍🏽🤓🦁💕

I’m going to use it more often and I have aloe Vera juice as well .. I used so much protein it’s just taking a long time to break that barrier from off my hair ... I really appreciate you!! How did you know your hair was going through protein overload??
I knew my hair was going through protien overload because my hair was VERY dry, rough and brittle. I was an excessive amount of fairknots as well as shedding. I left a Repairing mask in my hair for 2 days because we had a storm and lost power and I couldn’t rinse it out. I thought it was a deep condition but it wasn’t and had a lot of protien in it. -TaylorAnne

Thank God! Do not 'break' your hair to show me ANYTHING girlfriends. I love you but you have to be careful as anyone else, depending on what you use and what you do to your hair. Definitely BE CAREFUL!!! You have to have ULTRA healthy hair to use all these different products on your hair and your hair's OVERALL health SHOULD come first, I understand & I'm with you. Love Ya!
