It's better to use a plier to remove the Wire Holding Clip. Personal experience 😅 and did you not have to counterhold the Stabiliser Rod nut? And what exactly is an indicator of a failing Top Mount that we should be watchful about?
Anti roll bar nut was easy for me as the inner section did not moved , and the sign is lack of sure footedness on higher speeds like 100+ , you can feel the car bouncing a little , as my atruts are not yet completly shot , they still have resistance. Maybe that was the reason i was not ready with the part
Finally got the tools, is torque wrench required? I'm not confident about tightening. Also do i have to open axle nut to remove strut(spring compressor not available, will be taking strut outside to disassemble).
Is fitting axle back going to be problematic for first timer
Sir no need of removing axle , and sir Torque wrench is not needed , you can do it just by feel . And on a scale of 1-10 , changing a strut is like 4 . But spring compressor is necessary , without it you will not be able to assemble it back , as springs will expand

Hi. Was this the factory fitted Shocker which you replaced? There are two options available for shockers: One is 6RF 413 031 G which is Made in India and costing around 1950 while the other is 6R0 413 031 AJ, which is Made in Germany and costs around 4000. The build quality is significantly better in the latter. Which one to go?
Sir that totally depends upon your choice , you can go for any of it as per your budget

First check alignment , if its ok
Then you have problem regarding suspension (specifically lower control arm bushes )

brother before removing ABS sensor for any job like brake or suspension first pls disconnect -ve terminal. it is safe for sensors.

We should ideally remove the -ve of battery before any work , to protect it from shorting out

Thanks bro .. one doubt..In my rapid there was a tik tik noise generated while turning steering wheel and steering was quite heavy . we dismantled the strut , cleaned , lubricated the strut bearing , changed the top rubber mount and cap. For few months , it was fine . Again it came. Now the steering is super tight and noise also. Technician says the strut bearing may be damaged as the steering system seems ok.. .Whether above steering issues happens due to strut bearing? Car is Rapid 1.5 TDI , diesel, 2015 ...

Sir usually bearing just needs new lubrication after few years , but if the bearing has developed grooves then you have to change the bearing , its not that expensive

Sir recently done front suspension work on my skoda rapid TDI...replaced front struts from gas filled to oil filled struts which are stiff in nature...Now I thinking for replacement of rear shock absorber too ..so which type of shock absorber I should go for oil or gas filled ...considering my front struts...????
I would more prefer comfortable ride...
Sir rear struts are only available as gas struts from the manufacturer , may be oil struts are available aftermarket , both have their pros and cons , but i guess gas filled once will be best for rear

I intend to experiment with installing Ciaz or Brezza's Suspension Coil Springs in my Vento TDi just to experience a softer ride. Your thoughts on this?
Sir coils installed as per the weight and weight distribution on front and rear axles , if brezza or ciaz is heavier than vento , then you are going to experience more stiffness , and if lighter than more softness .
@@yourDIYneeds I want the ride to be as softer as possible. As a fact, Ciaz and Brezza weigh lower than Vento & their Spring Rating is also low (Softer). Considering this would you recommend experimenting? And will the Coil Spring of Ciaz accommodate on Vento's struts. (I guess it should)
Sir that totally depends upon the diameter current and new springs ,
If brezza and ciaz is lighter that ideally ride should be softer , but we also have to keep in mind that weight distribution also pays an important role , you can go for it , if if turns out to be good , let me know too .

And also does little wearing-out of the mount cause One-sided shoulder tire wear?
Sir lemforder are good , you can use those instead of OEM if you want . Mount wear doesn't result in shoulder wear , thats most of the time improper alignment .

Sir basically it depends upon the running condition , environment in which you drive , condition of the roads . Needs a check or atleast need to lookout for symptoms before replacing anything , but yes a rough estimate is close to 80-90k kms is like the time to change suspension components

Yes sir , they are same parts "F" is a newer revision than "C"

I changed the front shocks thats ending with F and the car doesn't feel okay...seems like front heavy and bottoms out with even single person in the vehicle at low speeds...is it because of the suspension part?

No advantages of using ceramic in our vehicles , because its not designed for ceramic , system is designed for semi metallic brake pads and only those will perform best , ceramic needs to warm up before they can provide full braking power , and also have a tendency to make high pitch noise .

Bro for vento 1.6 tdi VW ASC gave an Estimate of Rs 45k for suspension overhaul is it worth or its better to do in FNG
You can get all those things done outside and with the genuine parts , and you will cost you close to 25k for parts
My car makes a tap tap noise even on smooth roads from left side early in the morning. Once I have driven 10-15kms the noise completely goes away. My area mechanics have changed the whole suspension assembly(suspemsion, lower arm bushes, strut mounts, link rods). No one are able to find out the exact problem what do you think it might be??
Sir check , maybe your link rod is touching the inner fender liner , on bumps , happened with me as well on cold morning and i found out after 2 yrs

Hi sir, mera Polo 1.5tdi car hai, 38k running hai, showroom me alignment, wheel balance karwayata test drive pe right pulling and steering me vibration aa rahi hai showroom wale bol rahe hai tyre wear out hua hai isle vibration ho raha hai, kucch solution batayiye, pls suggest best tyres for polo 1.5tdi
Check Steering Angle Sensor and you might need to callibrate it. Check tyre pressures and if nothing helps, then checking suspension will be needed. Has steering been changed or opened anytime? While removing sometimes there can be a spline mismatch.

Sir sachs are OEM suppliers for European market , thats why they are the most expensive , in india mostly its Gabriel which is providing the shocks , and all others are aftermarket , but these brands also have different models and varients for shocks , which will also effect the price , bilstein can be a nice option , they have good name for aftermarket but can't say much about oem parts
You told the nuts and bolts of shockers were thread locked... after reinstalling how much torque u used and did u use a thread locker sir.
I tighten it with wrench pretty well , i don't have a torque wrench at this point, and bolt is designed that it has a warcel thick layer of thread lock , when you ll open it , you can feel it

Sir i replaced everything , they were not that worn out but when i was doing everything then it was not a good idea to leave a component
@@yourDIYneeds there is a whole confusion about front struts for polo… i checked at service center also and they said its normal for piston to not to come up ..they had 2 front strut and one of them was returning back upwards and other one was not …i have heard from others as well that its normal for shock absorbers for polo to not to come up.
Sir polo and vento comes with low pressure struts , which means they have pressure but not as compared to some other shocks .
Pressure is there just to prevent the foaming of strut oil .
When new they usually return at a very slow speed but as they age strut starts to wear , and something it comes back but sometimes it doesn't
Just make sure they both should behave the same
sir im using a 2017 model polo tdi.my suspension is damaged can you suggest an aftermarket suspension with better comfort and handling balance
Sir you can go for "gabriel" shocks they are a combo or handling and comfort , for shock top mounts , go for "lemforder"
Half the price but same quality.
And for steering tie rods and their ends , you can go for "stark" good quality and durability.

Sir suspension is the complete set of things like shock absorber , lower control arms , ball joints , tie rods and their ends , all together we call them suspension , but shock absorber is just a part of suspension

Not considered a problem , untill unless its doing any changes in the way , how car drives , but yes will make some grinding noise , which may or may not be audible due to body on chassis construction
What is the socket for opening top nut? Thought shallow ring spanner will work, but its not fitting.
Sir its 21mm , ideally there is a speciality tool called strut nut opener in VW which allows the use of a hex key along the 21 mm

Its OK because the behaviour of shock absorber without gas filled type acts like this ... when u r pulling their be resistances.
Sir they are low pressure struts , they are supposed to be equal on both ends , but they were not at that point in time

This is the 2nd time I ordered front shock-absorber struts from boodmo for my vento 2012 . But the case is same as of your struts.. going down and not retaining its position. What should I do?
Sir after a time it happens , normal ageing
Same was the case with the struts I fitted a couple of months ago and my car's nose dips while braking, bouncy ride ,steering vibrations and sways while turns.
So is it okay to not return these ?
Sir have you changed the rear shocks as well .
And nose dive while braking can be a fault of brakes itself .
All 4 wheels should brake acc. To the grip a available , but when your front brakes become more catchy than the rear , then you experience nose dive , and shocks just amplify that dive
And if it sways then have a look at the sway bar links and bushes and top mount as well
