My french teatcher ask to name our life hero I named Mark Knopfler. For two years straight all that was played on my player was Alchemy from Dire Straits in a time that not many peolple knew them specially in Portugal. After that came big success with Brothers in Arms. Now at 53 I'm having a bitter sweet nostalgia.

My best mate can play most things on guitar, classical, jazz, Zeppelin, Clapton and to this day this is the only solo he cant replicate that he's ever found..its the ending!!!

I’m nearly 50, my dad used to make me listen to his dire straits records when he was drunk and I was about 4 yrs old, thanks so much dad! This music hasn’t left me since, it’s in my skin and I will take it with me to the grave ❤
For me, this song is their masterpiece. Mark Knopfler at his absolute best and, in this live version, the band on top form. The guitar solo for the last two minutes is to die for. This is an enduring gift from Dire Straits. I'm very grateful!
I dont think I could pick a favorite song, there is too much music I love, but I'm not sure anything plucks on my heartstrings quite like this song does.
It has a higher video quality than the DVD release in 2010. It would be incredible if the songs that were played were released on video, but were left out of previous releases, especially the song Portobello Belle, as to this day there is no video with this wonderful song , especially on this tour that gave rise to Alchemy.
This concert gives Terry Williams the exposure he deserves as he is a godsend on the drums. Especially on Sultans Of Swing, a master class in drumming. Mark isn’t so bad either. Jesus..
