This city said you can’t work on your own car , in your own house doesn’t sound correct, some neighbors probably complained about the noise and lied to the city. See if a viewer is a lawyer that can write a letter threatening to sue for no cause and harassment. Just my 2 cents
The city of copperas cove has zoning rules for painting and vehicles with no bumpers will be towed unless in the garage or behind a privacy fences. It’s air tight i already talked with some Texas lawyers. Their city Ordinances are very strict eventually I’m gonna move out of this town and end of the country if god is willing because outside city limits there’s no restrictions. I got a warning and you only get one warning per year and after that warning you get fined but see my rental agency would get fined not me which means I would probably be evicted and I have four children I can’t take that big of a risk

Man it's tempting. I got a 98 ranger with four hundred thousand miles on it and I'm going to be doing an engine swap but trying to pick between this or EcoBoost mustang swap very comparable price.. there's actually a company called Mars that'll send you an EcoBoost crate motor and your choice of three different transmissions for about $7,000 turn key. That's like 300 and some change horsepower on stock stuff. All of which is very compatible to a ranger I think that would make it easier swap.

I think that mazda is so cool. I have a 2001 b2500. I love my little truck. The k swap is cool. I thought about an Ecoboost swap but the k swap makes more sense. I also thought about a V8 swap. Anyways, cool build!!

I do have to say that k-series sounds hellacious I got me a Honda Element at 2003 with a k24 in it taking my time building it up for the wife with an automatic transmission in it for now
That can make more power then my k20a3 and honestly I wish I had that bottom end but definitely a good platform to work with. If I upgrade my k20 internals I can make 500hp+ safe but the stock bottom end k24 can handle close to that bone stock
I love rangers!!! Volvo electric ps pump is common ps upgrade... I believe the Volvo lines thread directly into the Ford gearbox(at least the older rangers

I have a 1985 with a Lima 4 banger. I was going to to go Chevy small block but I want to be different and I think a k series in a old square body ranger would be awesome
You should be able to do all the work you want in your own garage..! Especially if it's on your own vehicles!

Time for some 18x10 RPF1's with 285/40(or 35) UHP summer tires on the rear. Or if that's too crazy, some 18x9's with 255/45 (or 40), and you could probably run that size all the way around. If you wanna be extra light, 17x9 or 10 with the aforementioned tires (only the taller sidewall, though, for either since that specs out to 26" diameter on a 17, while the taller profile will obviously be 27" on an 18, while the smaller one will be a 26" still.)

Hello I just have a quick question. I have a 1996 Mazda B2300 and I was considering doing this but do you have any better recommendations on the turbo setup and motor swap? If so I would like to hear what you would consider going for unless this is the best option.

Freaking amazing build! You inspired me to do some sort of K-series swap into my Ranger. My Ranger has been my project for the last 4-5 years making into a prerunner. Obviously I spent all my money on the suspension, and several thousands on re-gearing to 4.88s on the stock ifs dana 35 and the ford 9" I swapped in to push my 35s. Currently still have the stock SOHC 4.0.
Off the top of your head, would there be any variables/reasons why a k24 swap would be a bad idea for a prerunner? due to the much larger tires, aggressive gearing, 4wd, transmission compatibility issues, etc.
The k24 block is ideal but the head water inlet might hit the fire wall that’s why I went with the k20
Id like to know how the racing seats and steering wheel changed your seating position? I'm hoping to do the samething in hopes the steering wheel will be farther away from me and the racing seats sit me a bit lower and a little farther back than the original 2011 stock seat with the arm rest. What differences did you notice? I know I'm not going to gain much moving the seat back but even an inch if I have to move the slider back, and maybe a couple inches lower...Think I should have any problem?

What would your evaluation of cost comparison be between building a 2.3 turbo single overhead cam s h o style build or possibly swapping in a newer dohc Ranger motor and turbo it being at those are both Ford engines and came in this platform
Boost a 2.3L dohc duratec. stock theyll handle around 275-300hp pretty reliably. Just use a trans and everything from a 2002-2011 2.3 ranger.

For the power steering, have you ever considered an electric rack for Mustangs from 2011 and up?
I imagine that would be very expensive and too complex. You would need a beefy electrical system to adequately power the electric motor as well as some sort of computer module to manage the steering input and output.
A Ford Fusion electric power steering would work

I live in the county myself. Dixie Dream Rods was across the street from me until family illness and loss recently caused them to shut down and sell. Was a wonderful sight to see...AND HEAR some of the beautifully restored vehicles coming and going from their shop.
Another neighbor has a small in-house body shop where he does MOST EXCELLENT and highly recommended work; and, he owns a 1970 AMX 401 car that IS NOT STOCK. Every time he cranks it up and moves it around it really brings back memories. Sweeeeeet.
Some folks are terribly jealous because they gotta pay $450/$500 per month plus full coverage insurance or pay someone a ridiculous amount of cash to build what they want BECAUSE THEY either haven't the mechanical skills to do it themselves...or they're just too lazy. Then you got all these Karen's & Ken's today who think everyone else's business is their only business. Too much time in their f'n hands. Get a life folks.
wait... $175 for the engine?! how in the.... I can't find anything b series or newer for less than $800. which is why I haven't given anymore thought to upgrading from a d series. I would kill for a k-series, any k-series at this price
Almost all 4 cylinder engines at Budget wrench a part and highway 195 in Killeen Texas are this price. I seen b series out there even lol

Okay, this is a long shot since you haven't replied to comments in years, but I am trying to purchase the driveshaft for this build, I have the 97 b2300 gutted, the K24 ready to drop in and my rx8 trans is on the way should be here Thursday or next week. You said driveshaft shop made it but the only place I can find in HURST TEXAS was "automotive driveshaft shop" now my main question is 45 min down the road from me I have a actually driveshaft shop vendor. Should I just go to them or order from your people ?
honestly just go to the other shop, research around, just give them as many measurements as you can

I saw a YT vid not that long ago where this guy swapped a BMW dual clutch into his S2000. He was running some sort of tunable TCM for it. Perhaps that's something worth looking into?

I wouldn’t k swap a pilot the J35 engines are monsters and idk if you heard in the video but I can’t even really do much work on my own vehicles at this point and it SUCKS. The city is running my life right now. I definitely can’t do work for anyone else. I recommend if you wanna get serious with your pilot I would do some work to the j35 because they have huge potential

The a3 is a lower compression economic version of k20 so it’s not really as sought after
