- Here I outline the frequencies that you look to buff when editing dolby atmos settings, however keep in mind that no headset is designed with the same audio EQ/profile; so some alterations will likely be needed.

How do you get the voice clarity option cause I have a rig 800 pro hx headset and there was another video I saw reviewing this headset in detail and they had the option but didn't show how to get it, cause I don't have the option.
This is the best video for sure i have steelseries arctis 3 and the headset is really good by it self but with this eq settings and tweaking it the way I want and its amazing

This definitely helped after the switch to xbox series x. I have A40's and was having glitchy sounds after only having usb sound. This got it close to optical sound still not as good but way better than before and actually saved me from selling all three sets of astros I have lmao throw the Dolby setting on the mix amp instead of the star setting. The star is for the astro command center and the other one is for atmos.

Thank you for the preset. I haven't touched my Xbox series X in a while because of the bad audio in general. Having always used toslink for linear PCM stereo sound. USB or HDMI doesnt always provide the rich sound for me.
I gave your EQ a shot and not to bad!
I use the Astro mixamp.
...For everyone asking questions about this device and EQs and dolby or star symbol. As soon as you select the "Dolby Atmos for headphones" in the Xbox sound setting. You will bypass all these functions. It becomes a dumb headphone dac/amp with a Dolby Atmos license. Thats it...
I use the old (somewhat openback) 3.5 jack Iphone buds.
This preset with boost high (ingame) makes it a little harsh on a few soundeffects. Boost low felt a bit better but I don't know if I miss detail.
I've tried the studio references mix (ingame). With the idea there will be no EQ over EQ (Dolby Atmos & boost high, low whatever).
Sound was low in general of things but very clear and detailed. Than you start shooting and your ears bleed from the volume! MY GOD...
Any tips to lowering these particular sounds?
Or when using Boost high, which parameter should I lower to make sounds like lootboxes less harsh (lower volume)?

Activision and raven software were very lazy in their sound design with warzone and have blended what should be separate frequencies. In an effort to fix this royal eff-up, they made presets ingame.. which are half-assed as well.
Edit the 4-8k range to lower the loot box sound a bit, but keep in mind the range encompasses a lot more in games ques than loot boxes.. miniscule adjustments at a time brother

I have also tried the A40s instead of the buds. They are perfect for this preset with high boost. Volume at 1 o clock, close to the red bar and everything is pinpoint and nothing truly overwhelming.
Maybe some advice for more exposure. Make a Xbox series X/S Dolby Atmos video. You can use the same presets for people that use the mixamp with the A40s. Im sure there a lots of people looking for this ✌️
@@kost3rtube554 oh absolutely lol 40mm bass drivers, with a large dynamic range.. critical for shooters, especially cod. Honestly, I've never even considered using buds, but I'm glad this still works fairly well.

Yeah flatline the acc eq, but use dolby for the active eq

If you have a Sorround Sound Headset Like the Astro or Steelseries do use his Sorround Sound or do you Switch at Stereo. What is better for the the Dolby Atmos?
It sadly doesn't matter right now. Warzone doesn't work well with surround sound due to how they designed their audio compression/dynamic ranges. I don't recommend using surround sound ever, unless it is programmed into the headset, try it, and if it works better keep it.
if I run dolby on my alienware does it overwrite command center? or is there something I need to manually disable?
You need to manually enable dolby for the headset or speakers you're using, otherwise it may default to AWCC
I have the Astro a50 Gen 3 and I use the their presets and some others that I set myself with high boost on the game. With your Atmos settings will this help with the extreme bass and sound confusion that I’m always hearing? I’m hearing explosions and wind with no issues, but footsteps are nonexistent. It’s almost like I can hear everything loud in the distance, but not anything closer to me.

Sorry I missed this comment.. but these should do the trick, if not I have a couple other vids you can try out. Be sure your astro eq is disabled or at least flat, then use dolby.

You got it brother. If able, you could use the basic port-usb connector and remove the DAC completely. Main thing is using dolby as the sound type when you click on sound devices, and the headset.
I’m using rig 800pro HX hopefully this would help.

boost high or low are the go to's, somewhat personal preference, but I prefer high boost.

It's one or the other, having multiple eqs will create/increase audio lag. I'll make the vid soon but work has me busy for a bit..

Have a high quality, high bass headset, and you'll be fine on console as well. Still taper 125, 250, 4k, 8k as needed.

Thank you sooooooo much! I had a headset called "Lvl up artillery" and the wires broke, so I got the same exact ones, just a different color. and those sounded muffled, I have no clue how Dolby fixed it because I never used Dolby the first time.

I use cloud alpha and for me opening boxes, parachute gliding and some other effect are to powerful. Can you help with what frequencies I should tune down or as you used cloud alpha, is there some other eq for it? Thanks
Some of these issues just come with an altered eq.. you have high boost on in game?

@@eduard3504 I use Alienware Command Center for this reason. I have more options than atmos.. but via atmos, this is about as good as it gets. You can mess with 125, 250, and 4-8k hertz and see if it helps

@@eduard3504 @Eduard I haven't tried it yet but maybe try pairing your software with the 3Appes Sound Lock app. In theory, Sound Lock should let you set what maximum dB level you personally want. That way all those randomly loud SFX are capped, but your boosted Bass setting still remain. It's also recommended to use Boost Low or Midnight Mode with this app to get more low dynamic range. Yes. It actually may work better, just make sure the command center is disabled or at least on a flat eq
How do these custom eq settings work in tandem with the Astro command center custom eq settings. Do they work together or does the atmos app override the command center and should I have the Dolby button on?
They work in tandem, but only if you set ACC to flat. Otherwise the two will start overlapping

The headset is more your issue, if you followed the video correctly. The SS9 headset you have will likely require you to up the 100-250hz range by 1, then repeat if need be
Also make sure you're using high boost in warzone

No, I never recommend using those settings. If you're playing a campaign or something it sounds good.. but in multiplayer/BR it's not effective enough for an edge.
Reason performance mode doesn't work, is it's a generic EQ with slightly lower latency. The lower latency is good, but the EQ portion isn't optimized for any one game. Which means it's not the best for any game either.

It's decent in general, but not specific to the sound design in any game. Which is why it poses a problem in games such as warzone, vanguard, etc.

Use the settings here but transfer them to steelseries. Sound quality may be different, but should be reletively good in comparison
Also, boost high worked best, but you can certainly try low. Personal preference really

I've had viewers say this works very well in other 1st person shooters. I'll try looking into this for you though, if CS GO ends up having better sound design than warzone, it likely could benefit from a larger band eq than atmos has to offer. Let me know if you have any other questions!

My newest video has a profile or two that should work for you, just make sure to experiment with both boost high and boost low, as the MS headset lacks the bass needed to bring out footsteps as much as heavier bass drivers.

Sadly that can't be done without altering individual files within the games directory. Which if you did so, is immediately erased or your account banned.
Again, reason you can't alter an operators audio, is that it's hard coded into the game
@@JBORD101 ooh I see but for example, Razer sells headphones that come with a 7.1 software you can install which makes this type of sound setting to happen. Are you familiar with the DAW Reaper ? I use Reaper to send the game audio through and used your EQ and I can hear a lot more steps. Reaper also has this surround plugin but can’t get it to do this audio effect when choosing it.
@@aocidicoa i'll look into it, but keep in mind everything is limited to the game you play and how it's programmed. No matter what we buy, audio can only be tuned to a certain extent.

Dolby costs but the settings are good on console. Just make sure your audio in game is set to high boost

Beyer has a much more in depth range, and better sounding highs all around... so, I can't really say.. but give these settings a shot and let me know how they perform.

Typically yes, but the adjustments will work best with the related cod (MW).

@@JBORD101 Xbox series x and I use hyperx cloud 2, it’s so strange like I feel like it’s this sort of pressure feeling and the footsteps I can’t make out where they are, big improvements on the actual steps though as I can hear them 😂
Also this is the only content and online set up I could see use checked Reddit but all the set ups have expired and no one seems to talk much on Dolby Atmos
@@xpneuma ah I see, we can only do so much on dolby since it only has 10 frequencies that can be adjusted. It's still better than most, and has very little lag time, but Activision and Raven software were lazy on the sound design for this game.. which means were stuck with obnoxiously loud gunshots in order to hear footsteps.
@@xpneuma play with the settings for a while and you'll start to notice slight differences in the sound of footsteps and figure out if they are above, below, left, right, and so on. It's like anything, you have to practice for a bit.

High boost is my preferred setting, but low boost may work for you as well

@@MrSonny208 numerous applications and methods for altering in game sounds exist.. of which i'll use this channel to deep dive into, but my biggest recommendation is to keep an eq well rounded, warzone still has major audio sync issues where in game cues simply don't register. only way to combat this at the moment, is not being too reliant on any single cue. I appreciate the feedback, and hope this helps man.
I'm using this for rainbow six siege. I've always had trouble with far surround. Close surround is obvious so thanks for the sound victimisation thing. Idk that practically worsened it

@JBORD no I'm saying this setting helped with footsteps. But every other video never mentioned the the surround visualisation thing. It helped turning that off yk. Far surround is actually viable now

hello, I'm having problems with Dolby atmos on pc, when I activate it, the game sound stops, there was only the game's music, in other games like Fortnite and CSGO, it works normally, the sound only works again when I enable the Windows sonic sound function. Do you have any idea what could be causing this problem?
A simple uninstall and reinstall is a good place to start. If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll see if other solutions work for you

@@JBORD101 so I tested sound virtualizer on and off in the warzone training using the loot boxes as reference sound. Clearly with it off you can tell better where the sound is coming from (the direction of the sounds is not blended in both sides of the headset) and the magnitude (meaning how far/close it is). Hey man, great video! I have Astro A50s and I don‘t know what the preset in the astro software should be like. I don‘t want it to be messing with the Dolby eq, if that makes sense.
For sure brother, when you apply these settings in dolby you'll need to make sure the astro command center is disabled.

Why do u raise the 64 hz and the 16khz? U re telling 125 - 250 and 2k - 4K are important for footsteps. Should 64 and 16k be lower then? Thx for the answer
It's to produce a more realistic/rounded EQ. When you shoot select frequencies too high, it will drown out other in game cues like bullets and explosions throughout the map. In other words, they need a slight increase to ensure all in game cues, are audible.

he boosts 125, based on the recorded clips, and lowers surrounding frequencies. without knowing anything about this stuff, was curious why yours is so much different. hope this explains what iam asking, cheers

I do have newer videos attempting to do so. But the issue is at the core of the game, audio design in line with environment/surroundings. If these two things don't work together, you'll have trouble hearing no matter what

Pretty much the same eq. The game doesn't allow for much detection outside a certain distance.
