  • Unfortunately, this guitar cannot be bought new at this point in time (2/20/2020). As far as I know, only the G-400 Pro (For $420) is available since this guitars release. However, if you're buying this guitar used, I hope you received some useful information from this video.

    My loved one got me one as a gift. The sentiment was priceless and most playable guitar I’ve ever owned, next to the Les Paul I played for years. Price doesn’t matter to me for this build, so I am installing BG Pure 90’s, tunepro/gotoh bridge and tailpiece and grover 50’s tuners (all nickel), new pots, switches and .022 paper in oil capacitors. For fun also putting a gibson truss rod cover whilst keeping the epiphone headstock the way it is. Never will this guitar be treated badly and left out of sight. The matte naturally finished SG’s like these are something special in the hands of a good guitarist.

    I bought one years ago and having owned more expensive guitars in the past i can say this guitar is the easiest and most fun guitar to play that ive ever owned. Its so light and small and the big frets and action make it so forgiving for someone that doesnt practice alot and just like to pick up a guitar every now and then. My friend lent me his Les Paul Standard so id lend him my SG and he bought an SG custom the very next day because he liked mine so much.

    Thinking about getting one of these for a backup for my Gibson SG. Sounds like probably just change out the pick ups

    Bought a 2003 Epiphone G-400 (Glossy Cherry finish, built at the Saein factory in South Korea) new as a spare for on stage. One day, I tried it out in practice, and was amazed. It is effortless to play, and I found the tone I wanted in seconds. It almost seems to play itself. :D It became my main guitar and has been for the last 20 years. I didn't have to change or modify a thing on it. I also haven't found another from that factory and that year, or I'd snatch it up The price for these is crazy low. Try it out and you'll agree!

    I think it’s worth it, it’s nothing to change the pick ups to something better. This is a great guitar, I’m not parting with mine willingly lol

    I put a Seymour Duncan Nazgul in the bridge, sounds WAY better than the stock pickups. I love mine 🤘🏼🤘🏼

      That's dope. I'm going to but a H90 in the Neck and Hum for the bridge, whenever I get around to it. Only problem, fret wear now :O

    I don't have this guitar anymore but it was my favorite electric guitar I gave the guitar to my friend Chris I miss the guitar that's my only con lol

    I just bought a used epiphone 2016 SG Pro. Glossy finish,flame top Sunburst finish, coil tabs, gold hardware.
    I am trying to find out if the G 400 pro, the SG 400 pro, the SG pro are the same guitar or 3 different models??

    • @SlypDisc
      @SlypDisc  Před 3 lety

      I believe they are the same. The G400 came in base, and pro model (named SG G400 Pro) At least as far as I have checked.

    I recently purchased one in gold. Best action and setup out of the box I ever played.

      @SlypDisc  Před 3 lety +1

      It's easily the best action I've had, and I love my strat to death. Still doesn't beat the G400 neck action tho..

    Which humbuckers are in this model that you didn't like? I'm considering the 1966 G-400 which has Alnico Classic Pro. I see these are different than the standard SG

    • @SlypDisc
      @SlypDisc  Před 3 lety +1

      According to wiki, the neck pickup is also an alnico classic but the bridge is a AClassic Plus, which if I were to guess may be wound to a higher resistance. I personally thought the Alni Classics were too muddy for my taste, but I didn't necessarily hate them, I just thought they were a bit monolithic.

    does it have neck dive?

    • @SlypDisc
      @SlypDisc  Před 4 lety +1

      It does have neck dive, classic for an SG. However, I noticed that it did not bother me too much.

    • @chrispickett3092
      @chrispickett3092 Před 3 měsíci

      Neck dive is resolved by simply using a thick strap or better, relocating the strap button. Any sg style guitarbwith the strap button located at neck union will neck dive. Nuff Said

    That epi needs a serious cleaning, my man. Your hardware is corroding, and your fretboard is greasier than a McDonald's dining room table.......Nuff Said
