    Was fitted into GT3 earlier last month. Finally changed out of my 915. Great video.

    What I'm finding with driver releases is that we're expected to pay more and more for less information. How much weight has been saved on the crown? How has that affected MOI, is it less or greater, if there's a speed ring on the face, how much have mis-hits been improved. This driver is inching towards £600 before upcharges and yet the improvements are rarely presented in a quantifiable way.

      Woods are very expensive too

    • @Precision_Golf
      @Precision_Golf  Před měsícem +2

      The stated details we have to work with is 3 times lighter for the driver so approximately 66% saving and 5 times on the fairway so 80% lighter. Granted they have not released what gram weight that is yet but we will try to get the answer for you.
      The split mass in the driver increases MOI (again no exact figure but Titleist generally do not state this figure for any launch). The prices on woods I agree are high, in this instance we are told they created a completely new material to facilitate the weight redistribution and this does make cost higher but it is at a point which is at the top of the price window

      I started playing golf 15 years ago. Back then, the brands were promoting their new drivers every year saying increase in ball speed and total distance… if those were true, I would drive 100 more yards than I actually do now.

      Just go and hit one, if it works and feels better than what you currently have, great, if it doesn’t, no big deal, who cares about the tech unless you are golf engineer….. 🤷‍♂️😂

    Titleist drivers have been good now since the TSi series, great to see the fairways catch up. Well done Titleist. Nice work Simon on an expert illustration as to the differences.
    One question; if a TSI 7 wood is a little too high and spinny while the 5 wood is the reverse, how do you decide whether to loft down a 7 wood or loft up a 5 wood ? Thanks

    • @Precision_Golf
      @Precision_Golf  Před měsícem +1

      Thank you! If you loft up a 5w it closes the face but a lofted down 7w opens it slightly. The lofted up 5w should still spin a little less too

      I agree with your sentiment about the drivers, the TSR is an incredible driver, and I'm sure the GT will be as well. But I think (as of right now) the TS fairway woods are probably the best titleist has ever made. I'm always on the hunt for a great 3 Wood and have tried the TSi, which actually lost distance compared to the TS, and the TSR 3 Wood, which almost had the same total distance, but more roll. Also, those shots that did have a few extra yards in distance were strictly from the rollout, which is not something I want if I'm trying to hit the green. Maybe the GT 3 Wood will be better, but I doubt it.

    Thank you! Great video, Im a big fan of the channel. I was suprised to see lower ball speed on GT2 vs. TSR2 in your driver test...The one thing that stood out for me at my fitting was an increase in ball speed with GT2. I really like the GT2 this year and can wait for it to show up. Thanks again.

    • @Precision_Golf

      It is different for everyone but I have always found more weight forward heads produce higher ball speed for me so the deeper weight in the GT2 would potentially be the cause of that

    Is there a particular delivery/shot shape preference that better suits the weight forward GT3 than the more weight back GT2 ?

    • @Precision_Golf
      @Precision_Golf  Před 10 dny +1

      I find weight forward stops the club face opening in transition (weight back gears the face open for me) so helps me square it but it also lowers launch and spin too.

    Great information. I am happy to hear the GT 3 Fairway is easier to hit. What loft were you hitting? I'm looking at the 18 degree but if this has a flatter bottom then I may go for 16.5. I swing the T AD DI 5 so I can just pull shaft like yourself. Thanks

    I have TSR3 driver and TSR2 fairway. Love them so was interested for this and maybe the profile of the new fairway is more appealing but the GT3 driver comparison you did you mention the ball speed is up and it “delivers” but your club speed was more and smash factor was down. What am i missing? Love the reviews but ill stick with the TSR range for now as cant remortgage yet until interest rates come down further for me to afford the GT.

    • @Precision_Golf
      @Precision_Golf  Před měsícem +1

      The GT3 delivers in an all round sense of still being good ball speed but helping off centre strikes and spin stability, however it must be noted this is from the TSR being a very strong base product so it is small gains on the driver

      I.m keeping the Driver .. very happy, but am upgrading to the GT3 .16.5 for that bit more consistency.. Both with BRAVA . Reg shafts.. so I just have to change the head...

    First swing with GT2; (para) "very similar to the first strike with TSR2, notably a little more launch & stayed very, very straight"
    Maybe because you dropkicked the first ball with TSR2. You can literally see the club path on the hitting mat. 🤣😂🤣 Fitters are trippin' trying to get ppl to buy a club they don't need if they're coming from the TSR line. 🙄

    • @Precision_Golf
      @Precision_Golf  Před 23 dny

      Sorry for the delayed reply. It is human testing and there are differences in swing but I did say in the video that it is spin consistency that is the main difference in the drivers rather than ball speed so we are trying to be balanced about any benefit rather than trying to over sell any product.

      GT is not being launched with players who have TSR in mind to switch from, more those with 917, TS or TSi to see a noticeable difference
