Nice glad to see you made it out alive! I have a base SR Tundra that I am building, I am going minimalist, with a Westcott Collar lift out front, Tow Hooks (already installed) and some larger beefier tires and skid plates and call it a day! How Toyota omitted Tow Hooks on any pick up is beyond me!

Talon, if you have soft shackles and you have a rope or strap, you can always use the front or rear axle as a recovery point but don’t use leaf spring mounts. I think in this situation use your Garmin in reach or sat phone or starlink and you call Mike and tell him to come get you
I think the first mod I would make to it is recovery points front and rear. Awesome video. I'll probably order a second set of recovery boards by the end of the day. 😆👍

I'm wondering if the Tundras are having the same issues with paint as the 3rd gen Tacomas. After a long delay that tested the patience of lots of people they finally initiated a recall. White painted Tacomas suffer from paint in certain places outright peeling off.
I didn't hear you mention it? But a front locker makes a huge difference in snow. I used to belong to a 4x4 club that specialized in snow wheeling. I ran just a rear locker for years but once I locked up the front it was a game changer!
My tacoma is locked front and rear, it may have helped in the situation but not much at all given the tires and how the truck was stuck.

The new tundra wasn't built to do off road stuff or rugged stuff it was built to take jr to college or run errands about town, and yes I'm a tundra owner, just the last generation owner! It kinda sad,, but that what the govt does to legendary vehicles!
Why didn't you just hook up to those front tow hooks and pull it out? Oh, wait...
