The German VT1-2 is a very unique light armored vehicle that was given out as a reward in a past War Thunder event. It has not one, but two cannons in semi-fixed positions. Much like the Swedish Strv 103, it uses hull aiming to lay onto targets horizontally. With over 50 horsepower per ton, the VT1-2 accelerates extremely quickly. It can be quite a menace, but also can feel like operating a space shuttle. Gaijin have tried to fix hull aim before, but it's still kinda busted.

I'm going to be completely honest I do actually like the fact that the corpses are persistent in this. There is no worse feeling than when you were hiding behind somebody's corpse and it suddenly disappears and you are now at the mercy of everything looking at your juicy side
Yeah, spooks just got a little too mad here. Not the corpse's fault that he forgot to move and expose his second gun.
I agree, but i think it was mostly sarcasm. you CAN however blame the 1mm of armour clipping the shell making it go juuuust off course and not hitting the tank

Interesting fact:
This was designed for "Wedelfahrt". With good armor concentrated at the front and the 2200 hp boost engaged, a theoretical production model was supposed to drive towards the enemy in a zig-zag course (imagine it as a Rabbit evading a pursuer but engaging instead of running away). The commander would then aim at a target with his independent and stabilized scope, lock it and the targeting computer would then calculate lead and elevation and fire in the brief moment the gun passes over the locked target point.

I'm assuming it would have a computer-fired round for that, kind of like how bomb toss releases were armed by a human, but fired by a computer?

@@j.k6943 very cool, interesting to see computers being used more effectively as time goes on, like more recently with drones being used in Ukraine to do more damage more cost effectively and with much less risk (whether through automating fire control of removing the human element entirely).
With over 1,000 hours in the VT1-2 I can say this TURNs Ground RB to ARCADE.
As a VT1-2 main, I'm happy to see at least someone knows how powerful is this monster!

@@cptlogger2948 Shame we only use Rarden 30mm platform vehicles like the scimitar. The Warrior 2 would be nice or the AJAX, Gaijin are clearly happy to put test vehicles in for other countries.

Yeah feels like edits are always either non-existent or people just spamming so many edits the video loses value as a video and just feels like a meme compilation with a half baked plotiline

hell yeah it is, the armour is paper thin but like the ASU 57 it has a low profile so you can make use of it, it can scout too, hide behind small bushes or just snipe, the gun is decent in its BR if you know where to shoot unlike me then you're good to go, the HEATFS does damage but I would stay with the APHE for better boom boom inside
I like it. Having a solid heat and good pen APHE makes it really nice
You should play the Italian M41M 90/53. Weird chassis but the gun is simply a joy to shoot.

... and for some reasons it can bounce shots that should absolutely kill it, so it's has more survivability in the game than on the paper.

You should do the 8.7 Japan lineup. It's pretty fun and has a good selection of vehicles (that die very easily) :)
the 8.0 lineup dies easily aswell and dont has darts (ok, the rcv has some darts)

Would like to see the A34 some time soon, 12 degrees of gun depression and APDS goes a long way at 5.7 so long as you can make the reverse gear (or lackthereof) work.

Great videos Spooks . In the theme of interesting and quirky German TD's I would love to see you take out the Versuchsflakwagen or the VFW with a max crew one of these days. A long 88 at 5.7 with a 5.5 second reload is pretty fun and engaging.
Could you try the 47/32 L40? It’s an Italian tier 1 tank destroyer that’s speedy, and has kinda weak armor, but the gun is practically a point and kill machine for anything at its BR(at least in arcade, I haven’t played it much in realistic)
Wtf did we play the same vehicle, that things gun is significantly below average having only 55mm of pen max and 30g of filler, on top of that anytime you stop moving the gun takes ages to stabilize from the entire vehicle rocking forwards
@@heretichazel Sure, but there aren’t many tanks at that low a rating with that much armor. Plus, again, I’ve only played it in arcade, so I’m not sure how it stacks up in realistic.
@@lavaknight3682 yeah, but you gotta keep in mind you're never shooting stuff perfectly, so even thinner plates with enough distance and angling can end up being more than that can pen when something more average such as the russia's 45 cannon would still pen. You've also gotta consider uptiers, since going to 2.0 or 2.3 you start running into more common stuff like the Panzer 3 J and 4 E, and god forbid the valentine, that have that much armor. You'll also struggle against french tanks, since they actually have decent armor and even their shit firepower can kill you, though I guess they aren't the most common
I did go and test drive it, and it seems the stability issues I mentioned have been fixed luckily at least
@@heretichazel he was playing in arcade where the suspension is more stable, but yeah in realistic this thing puts the ELC AMX's suspension to shame.
Maybe the teammate didn't tow you because seeing you traverse he thought you could still drive, I for one did not know before this video that this vehicle could turn without the engine

I'd really love to see the VRCC Centauro! It's my favourite vehicle, and is super speedy and nimble with thermals and DM33.

If you like the fast and responsible tanks try the OF-40 MTCA it has stupidly fast turret traverse (like 50 degrees/s) and overall it's very fast and agile tank. I love it and grinded whole italian tree with it. Would be cool to see a video about it!

Also you should try the bt42 in Sweden. It is a lowtier so it is seal clubbing but you'll get Cas spammed anyway

You got some really good luck with some of these games. Wish i ended up with enemies like you tend to, I'd be able to play the game!
Content creators (Spook included) don't just post straight up gameplay sessions. They edit and mix together different games to only show the good moments and the kills. This isn't to say that Spook isn't skilled, it's just why every video you see him with upwards of 10+ kills. One thing I do like about him though is that he shows more footage of him getting killed and just driving around. It makes it more natural.
@@darthnihilus2729 oh I'm well aware of that. It's just usual for me to have hours of consistently unlucky moments. Like being a Sarc hiding in the brush as four random German vehicles just so happen to be using that area as a flank route to the Point.
@@TheManOfMyriad 1)Reduce your own engine sound on settings to only hear enemy engines (works best with headphones). 2) If you see someone performing well, try to remember what type of the machine he's using and where he's shooting from (via replays), so you can try replicating the gameplay. 3) Shut down your engines if you manage to get into a decent ambush positions. 4)Pointing on a minimap may be useless since almost nobody pays attention to it, but sometimes it saves your life. 5)Be aware of the reload speeds and weakspots. 6) don't ignore planes and helis, they are one of the main reasons you die regardless of the position (if you see an enemy plane spawning after you kill someone, most probably it's coming for you). 7) Learn the maps, replays are the best way to do it, try to see a pattern where players tend to go from both sides
And dont get upset every time you lose badly or after being gaijined, everybody face the same problem, hang in there buddy
@@MehrunesKar Credit to you lad! I already do most of this. Still learning weak spots on some vehicles, but I've got a decent bank of knowledge in common design of armour layouts and munition placements.
If I'm right most vehicles have hatches and MG ports with poorly protected lower plates which are good places to go for. Munitions for some strange reason are often center placed or at the front of a vehicle behind the armoured regions.
I do think I'm limiting myself with my "British only" gameplay so far, which has shown me that wOw nOthInG hAS aNy ARmoUr oR dAmAgE but they work decently when you find common travel lanes and camp them for side shots.

I’ve had this “turret facing away but the guy still shoots you” shit happen to me so many times lately, mostly with TURMS-Ts and other relatively slow turret tanks
same here, with the t55am1 and turms-t especially but also alot with these puma IFV and wma301 squads we've been meeting and getting stomped by.
makes it feel impossible to flank cos they always just instant 1 tap you from any direction, despite rushing them while they are engaging someone else.

Please try the T-29 (American heavy) with the 105mm. It's a premium.
It sits at 7.0. With an uptier you face like tanks 20 years younger.
But the cannon is still amazing.
One of the most neat features of the tank is that you can drive the tank with 2 people left... So basically driver + gunner/loader/loader/commander.
Imagine that 1 guy loading those shells that you normally use 2 people for and then quickly sit behind the turret controls to fire...

Speaking of machine components blocking shots. I was playing 2.0 coastal and was firing 76mm HE shells at a subchaser and it was doing nothing. As far as I could tell the shells were hitting the railing on the side and it was functioning as a kind of cage armor. Did not know the railing had a hitbox.
We did need vehicle corpses, it was a great addition. And hilarious it got added because Gijain said it would be impossible.
