I’ll never understand the fertility of Alocasias. I’ve had some Alos for years that popped out 1-2 corms ever and I have a plantet that was only a corm a few months ago that is already growing its own corms.
This Frydek is not a variegaed mama, but she’s still a beauty nonetheless. The mother for some reason cannot handle more than two leaves, but clearly her babies are thriving.
My favorite way to propagate these is in aquatic soil, but I’ve also done water and moss successfully.
Up next: my VARIEGATED frydek is also preggo and her corms are HUGE.
I definitely am not keeping 5 baby frydeks. I’ll likely give them away to my subscriber group on fàcebook once they sprout leaves ✌️

Just watched the long form and remembered to check my alocasia - mother and baby are doing great! I left the baby in the same pot since they’re doing so well, but just noticed a couple of corms! Yay! She was a Walmart rescue and it took months before she began putting on new growth.

So amazing! I have unalived 2 frydeks and I love them so much!!!! I do fine with other alocasias....but these are me favorites and I can't seem to get the hang of them!

Ok, this is my weekend plant chore. I have this plant. I bought it for 30$ at HD and it has at least six plants in the pot and I am certain that I will find corms. Off to the long form version!! ❤❤❤

I do! All the time. To the point where they don’t want them haha. I’ll likely give these away to whoever wants them in my Facebook subscriber group once they root

Hello, i have a alocasia zebruna and for some reason it doesn't really trive, it doesn't change size and seem... Not really happy. I water it with dechlorified running water and once a month i provide fertiliser to the little fella. But he's not happy. I don't get it. Light is good and température too... Humidity is always above 55%.
I would try tweaking one environmental condition at a time (increase humidity. Increase light, etc). Sometimes changing substrates can do the trick too.

Hey what lamps do you use in your cabinets? Do you also use fan and humidifier????
All the cabinet accessories I used are organized on my Amazon storefront! I do use a fan but no humidifier. Lots of plants naturally raise the humidity
I love u, but come to find out, my husband does not 😂 he says whenever I get on CZcams, I end up spending a bunch of money on plants and plant supplies. Oops😅

You don’t need to presoak aquatic beads. LECA you do.
Whereeee do you get reliable variegated corms? I mean reliable as in, a reliable seller. I know the variegation is kind id a crapshoot lol

I see it as corms don’t have roots yet. Pups are offshoots that do. I could be wrong though. That’s just how I define it.

with the kind of flowers, that i am looking forward to grow (yay legalisation \o/), pregnancy is the last thing we want for our girls, usually... sometimes you gotta pimp one extra pretty girl out, to further the gene pool (such is life ^^).

My people (Patients and recreational users), are specifically interested in big, aromatic, resin covered, female flower buds.
(Male plants would have to be salvaged in form of edibles, which works way better then one might think ^^)
That's why seeds are unwanted. They don't taste, they don't turn, they might add unneeded health risk, and they use up energy, that we actually want to see in additional flower production instead.
Unless you are are breeder... or a farmer that grows industrial hemp, for its fibre, or in order to use the seeds for oil, or birdfood...
Those guy are obviously interested in seeds.

It’s Solum from ModernAqua (MICHELLE5 will get you a discount). I keep it moist so I don’t do drainage holes. If I do, I have an outer cup as a reservoir so there always water
I pulled some corms off my rattlesnake plant and they dried out. Is it too late to peel and soak/plant them?

Can you use perlite as subtitute of the aquatic soil? Is hard to find it where I live or at least, get a reasonable price
You can use perlite and LECA or even moss to root corms! Just keep humidity high and substrate moist
