The best match of the whole tournament, in my opinion
Two of the three best goalies of the seventies along with Dino Zoff.
I am not sure if Sepp Maier is in that group. And I am saying that as someone who was a big fan of the Bayern team and the German national team in those years. Hellström, Zoff and Tomaszewski were better imho. Maier was always prone to produce at least one capital error in game. In this one Maier does not look good conceding the first goal from Edstrom and the 2:2 equalizer (5:27) has him catastrophically out of position. Maier was a weird mix of artistry and amateurish gaffes.

@@omnivorous65 I agree with you. Maier had pretty good reflexes, but he certainly lacked the vigour and athletic sportsmanship of today's keepers. And he bungled quite frequently.

ゲルトミュラーって昔ながらのセンターフォワードでどっしりした点取り屋ってイメージだけど、あらためてみると瞬間的な抜け出しとかラストパスへの反応とかのスピードが驚異的に早いし、自分がシュート打てなくてもエリア内でキープして味方の点にもからんでいるし、単なる嗅覚とかでなく身体能力も驚異的な歴史に残るストライカーだわ。

The Polish team in '74 was great. Lato, Tomaszewski, Deyna, I remember some of their player to this day. Eliminated England in the qualifying round. Everyone raved about the Dutch team in that tournament. If Poland had advanced to the finals they would have beaten the Netherlands. They were that good

The would-be world champions showed their first hint of superiority in this match. I'd say it was decisive for the later World Cup triumph. Sweden were always an uncomfortable team to play against - very athletic and combative, yet in the long run West German individual class mostly managed to succeed. However, after the poor first-round matches (including FRG vs. GDR), the West German team was deeply under pressure, and this match showed they were indeed able to win the tournament.

El mejor equipo de Alemania de su historia de todos los tiempos sin embargo en los últimos años han sido los malos resultados en la actualidad esa la selección antes era equipazo y ahora hoy es mucho peor.

@@miguelpanta si fue campeón en Italia en 1990 sino hasta 2014 recordemos Argentina que fue campeón en México pero 4 años después está vez perdió contra la misma selección alemán sin embargo cuando en Brasil Argentina vuelve a perder con teutones hoy es 4 veces ha ganado en la Copa mundial cuando Alemania se preparan para euro 2024 en la misma cuidad y la sede vemos que va ganar o eliminar es posible si creo muy difícil porque si no llega el nivel más pronto posible nada más.

Unglaublich wie oft man damals ( sinnlose ) Weitschüsse abgegeben hat.
Aber geil das imemr draufgeholzt wurde. Gerade mit den schweren Bällen ne richtige Waffe und es lässt sich viel besser draufballern aus der DIstanz. Sind grundsätzlich bis in die frühen zweitausender viel mehr Distanztore gefallen. :D Bei dem Rasen und auch dem Ball ist Tiki Taka Kurzpass halt auch sinnlos irgendwie.
@@M4tti87 Na ja, in dem Video kommen 80% der Weitschüsse nicht mal in die Nähe des Tores, also gefährlich waren davon die wenigsten und es hat immer etwas von Hilflosigkeit, wenn man so blind draufballert finde ich.
