    my main wish is that they've worked out the knacks so that we could see suspended coasters like Big Bad Wolf or Eagle Fortress without ripping themselves apart in 20 years

    Def a hint for the next build 👀

    This is very interesting. I remember riding the big bad wolf at age 5 and loving it. I have three kids now ranging in ages 6 through 12 and I know all of them would love it.

    The Vekoma later family suspended coasters barely swing compared to Vampire and the Arrows. I agree with you in that the proper suspended swinging coaster needs to return. The inverted non-swinging coaster is a poor man's substitute.

      Not as extreme, but it's matter of disabling some of the damper.
      In fact, Vampire is using SFC train, but with lot less damper if you compare it side by side

    These coasters are not only beautiful aesthetically, but the experience is one of a kind. I always have fun on these arrow suspended coasters.

    S&S bought all the arrow assets when arrow went under. vekoma however is a completely separate company. S&S did not buy vekoma.

    • @coastercade8812
      @coastercade8812 Před rokem +4

      You would be right that S&S did not by Vekoma. However, S&S’s parent company, Sansei, a Japanese rides company, bought Vekoma not too long ago. So, S&S and Vekoma are both now subsidiaries to Sansei.

    I would love to see suspended coasters make a comeback. I miss Big Bad Wolf so much.
    Oh, and 0:50 Johnnie makes some sweet trains, no?

    I wish that someone would bring this back so parks like Dollywood and Carowinds can get one because it’s a family ride and it’s different (never rode one before but I want to)

    That will be the day when we see an inversion on a suspended coaster

    I think you bring up some good points and it’s certainly possible these rides could make a return. If Big Bear is the catalyst to help Vekoma become more sought after in the United States, perhaps a park in the US would be willing to bring on the newest generation of suspended coasters. However, I don’t think we will see the classic arrow suspended trains again on any future suspended models.

  • @kummer45
    @kummer45 Před rokem +1

    But again this IS NOT ONLY reserved for amusement parks. THIS IS TRANSPORTATION for cities and can be generalized even further. Sounds scary but imagine trains with a build like this of course with moderate turns and modified to work on tall cities.

  • @bocahdongo7769
    @bocahdongo7769 Před rokem

    Well. For those who don't realize yet
    Vekoma SFC, in fact, a suspended coaster that legit could swing pretty wide. And yes, including STC like Hans Uber Kolf, is also suspended coaster. And maybe the first inverting suspended coaster long after arrow envisioned it

    • @lastone032085
      @lastone032085 Před rokem

      STC are modeled after B&M inverts. Not the same thing.

    • @bocahdongo7769
      @bocahdongo7769 Před rokem +1

      @@lastone032085 Technical standpoint, nope. It's literally inverting SFC. Same 900mm track, same exact train, but can do inversion.
      Heck, even based from layout, it's not B&M. It had tons of airtime, in a invert. Which not the point of doing B&M Invert.

    Well that sucks! I was hoping S&S Sansei and Vekoma would stay separate (as Vekoma now makes good reliable coasters and S&S does not)

    Suspended coasters are never coming back especially now that their spiritual successor has arrived in the Axis model from S&S.

    • @MarsJenkar
      @MarsJenkar Před rokem

      Axis is still a prototype, with the growing pains that come with a new design. The suspended coaster, by contrast, is a relatively tried-and-true model that no longer carries that particular baggage.
