      It is pretty on the low end, compared to a lot of other countries. Granted there is a lot of bad fry chicken out there, so until you eat a legit spot. You won't be able to tell the dif. If I thought about it, I don't think i've ever had "southern fried" chicken that was amazingly good even at places people say are the best at it. Korean fried chicken is also good but I feel like it's an excuse to eat soy garlic sauce. And since my experience is that the average karaage and the average Korean fried chicken is always good but the average southern fried chicken isn't, theres no way karaage is low end.

      @andricrypto2852 Před 28 dny

      @eastsidej20ny22 I understand your point, but the thing is with most Korean fried chicken, the sauce is not optional. It's not like ketchup where you have the option to dip it in or not. It's already blended in together and served to you that way. So one can say the korean chicken sauce is an extension of the seasoning.

    • @tast3ofk0lea
      @tast3ofk0lea Před 26 dny +1

      @@eastsidej20ny22 this isnt a dipping sauce. Its part of the seasoning. Lets not pretend that seasonings are only important in black culture. Different cultures use different seasonings and the fermented chili pastes, garlic, etc are part of the seasoning for a korean fried chicken. Its silly to say that the chicken needs to stand alone as if the seasoning isnt helping the chicken!

    fried chicken isn't just an african invention as this video implies. the scottish were deep-frying things in hot oil back in the day as well and american style fried chicken is kind of a natural fusion of those techniques.

    What sweet 'family' restaurant. The chefs are so sweet and passionate about their food. I love both Korean chicken and southern fried so I'm hungry watching this. Taiwanese popcorn chicken fresh out of the fryer is also very yummy. I agree with the chefs that kaarage and Jollibees aren't the tip top for me.

      No i actually dont, this is kind of the thing with that regardless of circumstance sushi is sushi by its definition, no im not talking about sushi burritos or egregious things like that, but with the world view of sushi being a cultural icon in Hawaii with the huge amount of japanese immigrants, are you the one to define Sushi in America?
      Because one sushi chefs opinion means very little in the wide pool of sushi chefs worldwide, and to lay more claim to that what about that Canadian chef who went onto an international cooking show and was told by one of japanese foremost sushi experts his style of japanese cooking was at some of the highest skill he could commend, well guess what? That man makes American Sushi.
      The disconnect here my friend is you cant gate keep when its everywhere.
