Cher is like Dolly Parton where everyone knows she has plastic surgery and no one even cares because it somehow fits right into her image
it’s because they 1) have acknowledged it and 2) still look like themselves.
but as soon as people get “bad” plastic surgery they’re villainized
@@anna.phylacticCelebs get villainized when they deny they have anything done and say it’s natural
"If I want to put my tits on my back, its nobody's business but my own"
-Cher
Cher has always been and is very beautiful, she is 77 years old! I wanted to be like her when I grow up
I always thought Cher had the nicest female look in her show. Her lip shape was very unique. So, her plastic surgeries don’t bother me. Just her lips look awful, why couldn’t she have left the one unique pretty thing alone??
She managed to look good at her age, which is not common for people who want to look younger for longer. Usually they end up looking super done. She still looks like herself and while you see it's not natural it's not clownish. She would probably have looked very good if she hadn't done it too.
Tbh I dont think she looks like herself anymore
@Iflie
Had a friend who was a massive cher fan. He got front row seats and backstage access. He came back kind of upset. He told me up close in person, she "looks like a patchwork quilt" and "a frankenstien monster". So, I think without all the beneficial lighting, stage makeup, and retouching of photos and videos, no she actually doesnt look good at all in real life.
This was my friends dream, to be able to see Cher. So he wasnt just talking shyte. He loved her and her music. If she looked great, he would have gone off about how great she looked.
@@CalliAMusic I think she doesn't look 20 anymore but you for sure can still see who she is. Her eyes are not weirdly pulled up, face not bloated out of proportion. There are much younger people who had way bigger changes.
Agree! Cher has a great plastic surgeon! She doesn't look bad at all for her age!! Cher still looks like herself! I've seen A LOT worse! 😂
She must be super clever to be able to do all these and yet look so young and naturally all these years.
You are always so measured and kind in your facial analyses, Dr. Gary. 😊
Yes! If I ever have any work done, I’m going to Dr. Gary!❤
I love Cher no matter what she looks like!
One thing Cher had that isn’t mentioned is great genetics. Her mother, Georgia Holt, passed at 96 in 2022 and still looked fantastic. She got good skin from her mom.
She wouldn't tell you that. She said she suffers from acne and had always done so for years. She said she uses Aveeno to keep her skin healthy.
I am five years younger then her and havent got many wrinkles. It is definitely genetics and a healthy life style, eg no smoking or drinking and eating fresh veges.
@@gipsi2001 it's just good mx on herself as well. She said using certain skin care products helps out a lot. Good genes definitely help with that as well.
Her mother looked fantastic because Cher paid for her facelifts!
@@aliceandrade4364 very likely! But good skin is good skin. Cher heals well, doesn’t seem to scar almost at all. Her skin is very forgiving. For as much work as she’s had done she doesn’t really look over pulled or over filled. She’s done a lot like Dolly Parton and had a lot of changes over the years while still maintaining a “look.”
Her surgeon(s) did a great job because she’s still recognizable.❤❤
Not Dolly Parton though.
I have taken comfort from the fact a face lift might only last 5/10 years. I am 74 and starting to look my age. My biggest regret is not being able to do my eye makeup as previously and marionette lines are horrible. I tell myself I am lucky to have kept a reasonable face until now. Congratulations on your hair coming back. Best wishes from Scotland .
you are beautiful!
That is the only thing that I notice over time. I LOVE makeup and I have a decent/average amount of eye space for makeup. I look younger than my age and I appreciate it, but I do notice how my eye shape, skin, and space is slowly changing and is a bit sad.
I have decided that I will not have any plastic surgery in my life :) …. but when I think about my makeup is the tinniest bit sad.
One big change was her teeth. I LOVED her natural teeth, so cute, with so much character & when she changed them it really altered her appearance
Agree. The altered teeth start to look like dentures. I saw the same change in Nicolas Cage's appearance. His real teeth were uneven but they made him look very boyish and cute. That denture look ages a person.
@@anniegolden1304 totally, they remind me of perfect little chiclets when they get veneers. which is also what many dentures look like unless you have the denturist make little tweaks here in there to ensure that doesn't happen.
I think she has natural teeth in the video Superstar
Same with Dolly. She really has problems speaking properly.
@@sandrabentley8111 agreed
The nose job and the cheek filler were clearly a mistake in my opinion. She was beautiful and could have aged naturally very well.
no 80 y old woman is beautiful, stop talking bs
She’s Cher. She’s unique, a one off. Not a carbon coy of any other celebrity. She’s talented. She’s amazing. She’s always been beautiful before and after any surgery. She’s an icon of our time. I absolutely adore her. This century and last would not
Have been as rich and interesting without this wonderful other worldly woman. Long may she continue to entertain and amaze and grace us with her wonderful
Cher was often a donor to good causes & people. She did so anonymously.
You have to give it to her for a 78 year old she looks amazing and when compared to a 65 year old Madonna, Madonna now looks like a different person (uncanny valley looking at this stage!) whereas Cher still looks like Cher!!!
Madogga.
Hard disagree on Madonna now. Have you seen videos and pics of her on her current tour? She looks better than ever imo, and you can tell she's the same person, unlike the past few years. Whatever she's had done since how she looked at the start of last year worked really well
@@dantedash Madonna looks better than she did initially after that facelift etc, but her face is still overfilled with very little definition. She doesn't look bad for her age, but she definitely doesn't look like the image of her people have in mind.
@@dantedash nah you're wrong there bud.
a lot of people are saying her surgeries look better than Madonna's in these comments. everyone loves to bring up that one pic from that award show where it was clearly too early for Madge to be seen after some procedure. her hair style was not helping her situation either. but since then, her face has toned down a bit. the truth is Madonna has, for the most part stayed true to what she looked like when she was young (maybe she's added more volume on the upper face, sure- i'll give you that). but she did start out with a heart shaped face and full lips when she was young. Madonna also never even did anything to her gap teeth. If you look at Cher's from the beginning compared to then later on- even in the 80s- she looks very different- she started with great cheek bones and then later added filler or fat as Dr. gary says. and then the nose, the teeth, the eyes, lips, are all different. I love Cher but to keep comparing her surgeries to Madonnas like a lot of these comments is funny
Somehow her surgeries look better than the Kardashians’ or the modern celebs’ to me. Cher’s are a lot subtler she is smart about them.
It's bc modern beauty standards have evolved into alien-ish looks, more "ethereal" almost extreme looks. Faces like Anya-Taylor for example, everybody now LOVES getting their cheeks done
@@latiaos11 Anya Taylor can look both ways when crossing the street without having to turn her head. She is a terrific actor, but I find the fascination with her looks curious.
Keep in mind that the canvases are different. Cher started off as a natural beauty. As for the Kardashian/Jenner clan? Sorry to sound mean, but those kids didn’t start off looking like stunners. They paid for their look.
The fat remembering its origins is so trippy. The human body is incredible.
I never knew that either. Sure makes you think twice about fat transfer!
Yes. I had never heard that before. 😊
@@Lorrainecats I have! One has to be careful. On the flip, there are women who cannot maintain fat and the fat transfers to the face do not have lasting effect and they have to continually have them redone.
I hope my fat forgets where my hips are.
I love these videos about plastic surgery procedures, cause the more I whatch them, the more I am at peace with my face and with the fact that I am aging and that it shows.
My favorite Cher look is "Moonstruck" Cher she was absolutely gorgeous and had a natural beauty appearance in the film.
I love her in that movie and also mermaids
Moonstruck is such a great film
I love that scene where she goes to the opera & wears that red gown & shoes, she looked so beautiful

Cher actuality had quite pronounced acne scars when i first saw her in the 70s...im sure she has had skin treatments but who wouldn't?!? I think she's pretty & unique, luv her!
I read that she uses retin a.
Scar removal treatments are quite successful, and I'm glad to hear Cher had a successful treatment. I had acne scars removed and there is no evidence of any marks. Amazing! I don't even need to wear makeup anymore. Life changing 🙌
@@delia_watercolors8186 that’s awesome, congratulations! Is it expensive?
I remember reading in the 1970s about her chemical peels for acne scars.
@@delia_watercolors8186it depends on the type of scarring. If it’s shallow scarring like hyperpigmentation, you can get rid of that with OTC. If it’s atrophic scarring or hypertrophic scarring, those can present with challenges to remove. I’ve heard of some high end medical treatments even making it worse.
I have always found that any surgury destroys the "uniqueness" of a person's look. She was SO beautiful when she was young. I would have really liked to have seen her age naturally.
I agree
@1957Babbs
Theres something to be said for aging naturally and looking good whatever age you are. A 40 year old is not a 20 year old. And a 60 year old isnt a 40 year old.
Celebrities getting little touch ups to look good for their age is one thing. But turning yourself into a weird wax figure looking thing in an attempt to wipe out as many signs of aging as you can is kind of sick.
A lot of (most) people who work high stress jobs don't age well. Additionally, she didn't have a full face. Women with thin faces/naturally low body fat don't age as well. In her case, I question if "aging well" (aging to current beauty standards) was even possible.
@@delia_watercolors8186 entertainment is a “high stress job”? 🤔
I suppose there’s no hope for those of us who have to cook our own meals, clean our own homes and take care of our own kids.
@@childofcascadiait's sick? You make it sound like it's some kind of moral wrongdoing lol
One thing I’ve noticed about Cher is her neck is amazing so her face work doesn’t look weird because her neck isn’t wrinkly. She’s been so clever not to over do it. She looks amazing! ❤
When I was growing up in the 90s I remember seeing commercials on tv to buy all episodes of Sonny and Cher on vhs tape. And I always thought Cher was so beautiful with her long straight black hair
Boy, Cher was a beauty in her days. My brother was fortunate to meet her, and he said she was gorgeous, and I agree. She looks good now, but I miss her nasal bump and original teeth.
The craziest thing to me is her smooth skin. Now what sorcery created that! It’s amazing
Yes it’s amazing!
what ever work she has done, which she has. she has not gone overboard like madonna, michael jackson, mickey rouker, joan rivers etc
Things Cher has on record admitted to having:
A) Nose job in early 80's
B) Braces (there are interviews with her wearing them)
C) Breast implants (she hated them and had them removed)
D) Tattoo removal (she had a rosary tattoo on her arm removed)
E) Foot surgery. Not plastic surgery but I guess a speaker fell on her foot and she had to finally get it fixed
She kinda acknowledges that she's aware of what other people think she's had done however the lady did take care of herself. Also there is an old interview with the head of CBS saying she had skin issues and had chemical peels to help soften acne.
She admitted a fecelift too
It's surprising that you didn't mention her lower lip! The filler has migrated. The other change is the excessive fat removal from the upper eyelid giving her deep eye hollows. It would be helpful to know what is happening in both of these instances and if there is a type of correction available.
She has always had very deep set eyes I doubt she's had fat removed more than likely at her age the fat has lessened on its own
@borgqueen1612 no, she hasn't always had deep set eyes. Dr Gary even pinpointed when her first bleph surgery had hollowed them out.
Ok true that double under lip is something ❤
I've always wondered about her lower lip. There is so much fullness outside the natural lip outline (at lower lip). I wonder if she had a permanent filler (like silicone), and that might be why it always looks distended below her lower lip.....?
It's like Cher has 2 bottom lips Now. One with lipstick, & one below it without..
I wonder if she also had a chin implant placed because her chin looks recessed in her 20s to me. I was never into the flattening and softening of her Cupid's bow. I liked how sharp her lips were before, and I agree about her upper eyelids. Even though in her early 50s her skin was so youthful, the hollowness of the eyes always betrayed her age, making her look sleepy rather than alert. I still feel amazed at how great her skin looked just after Believe came out. Pretty flawless. She was ahead of her time, because nobody her age was attempting to look that way back then, so I think it appeared a little uncanny to people that grew up with her looking so different.
I think I remember that she did change her chin a bit...as did Carol Burnett back in the day.
Well, I believe that Cher has been smart about her surgeries and she looks beautiful at this age. Thank you Dr. Gary, you always explain so well😊
My goodness. Compare her to Madonna and this woman did a fantastic job considering she was getting plastic surgery in its earlier days. She looks different for sure, but she still appears recognizable. Well she's Cher after all. She can do no wrong! ❤ (I also love her sunken eyelid look, it became her signature feature)
I think the "sunken eyelid look" was mostly due to makeup, not surgery. Just my opinion. The heavy black eyeliner that she wore in the 1960's will make her eyelids appear smaller. She wore her eye makeup very differently in the 1970's.
@@SkyePhoenixpersonally I don’t think is because of makeup, you can definitely see less fat in her eye area as she gets older.
To me, Madonna looks like she has a steroid face, which makes me wonder if she is ill.
@@SkyePhoenix Very well could be. Makeup can transform the eyes. I love that you can always see her eyeshadow 😊.
Could you please analyse Julianne Moore? She's in her 60s now and still looks so amazing, especially considering how fair-skinned she is!! I'm pretty sure she hasn't had any work done and would love to know her secret 😃
She looks amazing and has done these procedures at an appropriate age. Which is why she looks amazing today.
Lines bring character and as we age gracefully those lines show a life that has been lived.
She was really beautiful in her youth and although she's obviously had work done, she's really looked after herself
Brilliant surgeon she has.
I’d love to see a video like this analyzing Susan Sarandon. I watched her in “Feud” and she looks incredible.
She’s so gorgeous to me. Always had been, always will be.
She's the villain in the current movie Blue Beetle
Huge props to her surgeon! He has a stunning canvas for his art for sure but his skill is apparent! Cher was gorgeous when she was young and she's gorgeous now
Cher herself has said that she felt she looked her best around 1987-88 when she was 40! During The Witches of Eastwick and Moonstruck Eras! She definitely had major work done by the end of the 90's. She looked very different when she did Tea With Mussolini and as a result the movie roles began to taper off!
It's '90s, apostrophe omitting the 19. Not "90 is" as you wrote. Nineties doesn't have an apostrophe. 👍
Yes, 40 was her favorite time. She felt she looked her best (face and body) and she was in a happy romance with her “bagel boy”.
@@djr6876 'Bagel' boy? Amongst certain types for many decades, there is a kinky sexual connotation there! 😉 It's cultural, but you can probably guess. Although I also understand what she probably meant. Poor choice of words though!
@@thekeysman6760that's what the media called him during that time.
I doubt you know what caused her to do less films.
She has been a pleasure to look at since she was a hippie. But her real gift is her ability to communicate, in song, acting or even on a talk show
It looks like she's had lip implants. You can see the contour of the implant beneath her lower lip line.
I have the exact same and I got lip implants in 2000.

Her surgeon is amazing
Cher looks gorgeous! Whatever she’s had done works!
Very interesting video and just wanted to add that I'm so happy for your hair regrowth Dr Gary 😁 It looks great!!
Cher and Dolly have always been very open about doing tweaks here and there. Cher mentioned in several interviews that she had her nose and teeth "fixed" in between Silkwood and Mask because in character for Silkwood she was banned from wearing make-up and wigs and she hated the way she looked on the big screen. Overall for a woman of her age, I think she looks very striking still and it's clear that she has also maintained her fitness/healthy lifestyle as no amount of surgeries can keep you performing at that level well into your 70's.
Cher was absolutely gorgeous in her younger years.
She has always been gorgeous!! Love her ethnic features. Slim figure, dark hair and skin. What I always wanted to look like. I hate when people ruin that. She has managed to tweak her look over the years and still look like herself. Not many have done that. 💜⭐️
Was just noticing at the Golden Globes that both Emma Stone and Kristin Wiig looked different enough to make me think they had work done. I’d love to hear your analysis on this.
Wiig changed her hair color and it makes a big difference. She was almost hard to recognize.
@@patricedecourcy4505 no, definitely not that. She changed her hair color in skits all the time on SNL and I still recognized her. I did not recognize her.
Even before the Globes, I noticed Kristin Wiig’s nose job. It was such a weird turned-up shape in Bridesmaids, I compared to older photos and yes, in fact, that wasn’t her original nose.
Congratulations on your hair growth progress, Dr. Gary!!
Cher’s mother is beautiful and has always had great cheekbones. No matter what Cher is beautiful, still looks like herself and I love her. ❤
Thank you Dr Gary! That was as interesting as I thought it would be! Some of the plastys I did not understand but it was very interesting. I met her several times in the 60s and 70s. She was very nice to me. I loved her original teeth. I hated to see them go, they were sexy. She did have an underbite on her left posterior side but it didn’t show. Her eyes were big and beautiful. I like people to look original even though in Hollywood everyone goes for the same procedures until they all look alike. I am going to watch this again…thanks for critiquing Cher!
Cool that you got to meet her. I absolutely love ❤ Cher!

LOL. I was thinking the same EXACT thing.
I passed her on the street in Paris in 1985 and her face was severely pock marked. Probably acne scars. During the scene in Moonstruck where she's by the fountain outside the opera house, you can see it.
Honestly, if Cher had work done, I mean, she looks awesome. I mean wow❤
She is still a winner of the genetic lottery, her mother is also a beautiful woman, so she can’t loose📸💕
One of Cher’s most famous quotes is her saying “if I want to put my tits on my back, that’s my business”. Love her. …..Her INCREDIBLE bluff side home in Malibu (Huge Mediterranean compound) with 180 degree ocean views is INSANE!! 👌🥂👍
I adore Cher, your closing words are so true to me. 🤩 Her biggest beauty is the person that she is. But she was GORGEOUS as a young woman, before the changes. Her bumpy nose and crooked teeth worked for her, maybe that amazing bone structure made it. Maybe she just has that star quality that shines through no matter what. I've seen her close in person. She did have a lot of make up, which she also admits to using. Cher has always been open with having things done and she has never been apologetic about it. Love that, love her 🥰

I actually loved her looks as they were when she and Sonny had their TV show including her teeth! I thought she was perfect. But, it matters not what I think, it only matters what she wants.
I know an aesthetician who worked on Cher at a hotel in the 80s or 90s. She said she was very pleasant but never moved her face,e smiled or exhibited any facial expressions at all. Obviously she wasn’t that way in public so maybe she tried to do manually what Botox later did chemically.
I used to know a woman who did exactly that. She avoided expressions. It was quite strange.
Love your videos Dr Linkov. I'm wondering if you might consider doing one explaining how immunocompromised patients seeking cosmetic surgery are managed. Wound healing and infection seem to be a potential risk in this group but very little is said about it. 🙏

😂👍
Considering she’s almost 80 she hasn’t had that much done.
Does anyone notice from 1998 it looks like some kind of lip implant has descended under her bottom lip?
She's always been very open about it. I think she started feeling more and more self conscious when she became a major Hollywood star after years of being rejected. She has said in some interviews that she couldn't stand her nose on the big screen, and her teeth - so she had her nose done, and she wore dental braces in 1984. Then through the years she of course "re-modelled" more of her whole appearance to keep looking fresh, but still being true to herself. Apart from cosmetic procedures though, she definitely has a very healthy lifestyle and good genes, amazing charisma and an inner light that always shines through.
Near to me in South Wales was aa hospital in Chepstow where plastic surgery began during the 2nd WW for the burns victims, these were called the 'guinea pig' group. The hospital has been bullied down and is now a housing estate. But people remember the poor burned airmen who were the precursors of your patients
At least CHER looks recognizable unlike some celebrities I can’t even recognize.I’ve read that CHER has used Erno Lazlo as I use that as well and heard that from cosmologists from the line. She’s had beautiful skin forever and has her pick of skin care. I’ll have to look into your skin care as I really like your philosophy.
Fascinating video 🤔
Very interesting; thanks. I've always thought that Cher had a bit of a nose job done before the first Sonny & Cher TV show in the early '70s. (Sonny had one done in the late '60s or early '70s.) BTW, you've used a photo of someone who isn't actually Cher at about the 4:33 mark.
