If your dm allows you to craft items associated with your tools, consider jewellers tools, your still have to buy raw components but most of the value from gems come from there cut, so you can craft gemstones ( get gemstones at half market values after weeks of work because the higher the values of the final project the longer it takes to craft. However this helps with a large number of spell components that are consumed, ( revivify, hero’s feast, etc )
Tools are fun. I try to give a lot of downtime for them to be used in their fullest!
Game On! That’s awesome! I forget about them way too much!
Well you were very right that I had no idea on these tools. Great job.
We Talk D&D thank you! 😊
THANK YOU! I have been looking for a few ways to better utilize tools/ tool proficiencies.
“Especially if you roll ones, like I always do”
Well good thing you’re a halfling then; you get to re-roll ones, lucky!
Awesome tips! Starting a new campaign this weekend and this absolutely made me rethink my tool decisions.
Seamus Mackura I am glad it was helpful 😊
sorry to be off topic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
this video should have more attention then it is
Great video, I had no idea that those tools had effects. Online sources really dropped the ball on that one. Exactly what I need in my game. Subscribed.
Luis Passament glad it was helpful! If you want a full break down of all 22 tools, I made a massive article on my website about that. halflinghobbies.com/complete-list-of-tools-dd-5e/ Enjoy!
I find there are tool kits that are similar to one-another in certain perspects:
1. Smith with Metal Mason (provided the latter exists)
2. Wood carver with carpenter
3. Alchemist with Brewer and Cook
4. Leatherworks with Cobber (possibly with set #1)
Combining them together might be sort of game-breaking (granted), but they can be effective when going from one dungeon to another
Very true!
I have an Open-Hand monk, who has proficiency in mason's tools. Over some downtime, he's developed a technique in breaking structures. He's used it in breaking down a dead crystal elemental, sabotaging the rudder of an enemy ship, and in battle with said ship--knocking down one of the masts to destroy two of the ship's weapons.
Now this was great to see.
So happy you thought so!
I really like the Cook's Utensils. It doesn't sound much but of some one rolls 6 hit die that you've just added a d6. That is the size of most casters hit dice. One of my character's was Lurch a Barbarian chef. Over the course of the campaign I think I healed like 50 hp.
One of my favorites as well!!
About to make Julieta from Encanto a character. Using artificer alchemist as the subclass, chef feat, cooking utensils, and alchemist supplies!
Good list
We need to numb pain for sure
Rivers RPG Channel 😬
I’m definitely having a hard time picking tools becahse I want like 4 of them lol
My next character will get the fancy shoe tools :D
Love that idea! I always thought a traveling tailor seeking new and exotic materials for clients would be a fun PC!
My favorite character was a kobold black dragon bloodline sorcerer he had been the chef of a black dragon monarchy before their turf war with the red dragons led to their end. Displaced he makes his way to a town and cooks at an inn his griffin egg omelettes are to die for.
I love that omelette detail so much! Amazing!
I see what you did there. "Forge"ry. **Chef's Kiss.**
