I think some of the issues you are having are related to time - like residents being cold. Just because you built a building to produce firewood, doesn't mean that all houses automatically get firewood immediately to burn for heat. It takes time to produce enough firewood, and time to distribute the firewood to all of the houses.

Try moving your 2500 storage building closer or to the market. Makes it more central to everyone
Each family you have at storehouse will set up a stall in the market, so if you set a storehouse to only store food, you'll only get food stalls.
When in battle, once you’ve selected your militia (spears for example) click and drag on the ground and you can get them into formation.

You are definitely goona get offed like this, you have homeless people in your 1st region, and you can't just trade between your two regions, they work as a separate states so you have to work on both at once
