1st phase is just lame. Hate this boss. These devs need some constructive criticism.
Has the recent update dealt with the bladed crotch punch method?
You can actually weave her strikes in her second form which makes her a little easier. I literally started at 25 and when I passed the fight I was 50 She fucking sucks but thanks for that tip! Iâll definitely use it
The thing i hate about this fight is that It's entirely unclear how I should be dodging (up or down) or when. The game disincentivizes experimentation, which is fine with the other bosses I've played (so far) whose attacks are clear, but this one's a bit rough.
Facts lol
"The game disincentivizes experimentation" this absolutely sums up my experience with the game as well. The fact deaths lock you out of moves you've been steadily unlocking and decreasing your health is absurd to me in a game that seems to revel in its difficulty and demands perfection. Phase 1 of this boss fight is the perfect showcase of how overboard the devs went. The blades with chip damage on the block are so unnecessary when the combo strings are this obtuse. Nothing in the game prior to this teaches you anything about this boss fight, there are no grunts to build this fight up. Sean has clearly readable patterns that can be learned in a few rounds, then suddenly the next boss is endless combo strings that can't be clearly read combined with chip damage on block. Some of this game's progression just makes no sense to me
@@apocalypticraid7591 Yeah, as someone who's beaten the game twice over now, boss 3's easily the worst part of the game. Don't know if you've gotten to her yet, but boss 4 has a similar moveset, and it's TOTALLY readable, and the final boss? You're gonna die to him, but shit, it's plenty fair when you do.
@@Peasham And to be clear, I REALLY like a lot of aspects of this game but other design choices are just baffling to me. I think it's a really good game that I wish was balanced better overall. I like learning, I like hard games but like The Club for example is such an utterly absurd difficulty spike, it feels like there's a level or two missing in between. Then you have this boss' Phase 1 which is just wtf and then Phase 2 is back to a normally readable Sifu fight? I've successfully beaten her five times now, so I'm not salty because I can't beat it, but it's an annoying pain in the ass and the obvious thing I do NOT want to have to do again. I'm at The Tower boss now and at least I can read this shit lol.
@@apocalypticraid7591 they rlly decreasing health, as if we had enough health to begin with
The only boss where the second phase is actually easier than the first
um... how?
@@JonathanSterling86 very predictable and weaving her combos are easy. Just spam weave
@@JonathanSterling86 itâs way easier than her first phase lol
Youâre straight stupid. First phase is pathetically easy and the second is basically unbeatable because she makes no sense
@@JonathanSterling86 It may seem harder if you came from the first phase only weaving. Weaving her melee move is almost impossible, and yet you can just parry it and just get some free structure.
Iâve used a lot of different ways to fight her and Iâve realized the most effective is being patient but I just love going into the fight. So Iâm torturing myself by learning her pattern to weave over and over đđ
lol thatâs how Iâve been trying fight her but I keep getting my ass kicked.
i felt this so heavy
Yeah at one point on her first fase i was like:
"Yea,yeah keep doing your combo...one more move.. now its my turn" And well second phase is just easy to remeber her moves.
Man tell me about it lmao like I know i should just wait for my time to strike but I love bein the aggressor and really tryna mix shit with the weaves đđ
You literally cannot keep up with how many weaves youâd have to do even if you recognize the moves cause it differs from high to lows and if you dodge a low youâll get cut by high dodge a high youâll be hit by a low
2:47 is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while. "I just wanna have the fight on my terms" then proceeds to get absolutely battered to death! The comedic timing of that! Jokes aside though, this boss is giving me issues. Thanks for the tips.
Lmao
you evade that by just spamming downward evade, weaving down. holding the block button while repeatedly going down helped
@@morgan0__o Yes! I found that works also. If you can't create distance, spamming the down dodge will avoid every hit leaving her open
@@morgan0__o I think any direction dodge works (except the up one) or is dodging downwards more efficient?
spam parrying the spinny move on the first phase is a really easy way of dealing with it, it deals a ton of free structure damage too
You mean just spamming spacebar gets you actually hurting her structure?!
this is the actual answer by the way guys!! i just did a deathless run on her with this method... the spinny move is super easy to dodge
@@JuanAG31 dodge or block?
@@hidz4393 dodging. Spam the left stick downwards when sheâs coming at you with that side spin attack.
@@JuanAG31 yeah I figured that out on my own first then tried his way and did worse
if you perfect parry the endless spinning attack she does (parry every hit) it halves her posture and u can kill her in 2 parries of that move + some hits. (for a more aggressive approach)
It is logically impossible to parry every hit of something that is endless.
This works!
Video?
Yup best tactic here
Just knowing you can parry any of that is helpful.
I'm used to glowing attacks being unblockable, but realized yesterday they can be parried, they just wreck your Structure if you try a straight up block (the yellow attacks anyway, I don't know about the red ones).
An even easier way is to unlock Crotch Punch and take a knife into the fight. For some reason she doesn't block this move when used with a knife. You can stunlock her by alternating between Crotch Punch and 2 heavies. A thing to note is that Crotch Punch becomes a 2 hitting move with a knife and sometimes she'll block the 1st hit but not the 2nd. Obviously, it's a good idea to upgrade weapon durability to make the stunlock last longer.
send me a video of this of you can mate!
@@phallictechnopirate678 Thanks my dude.
@@phallictechnopirate678 that's some fine cheese you discovered.
Thats the best way by faaaarrr. Almost took 85%health like that
Unfortunately this has been patched. she now blocks it
I like using the forward, forward, triangle skill for the first part of the fight. Really helps close the distance if you're not close enough after the last part of the string.
I beat this boss yesterday, I found out that you can easily parry that long spinning attack where she chases you by spamming L1, and you can do huge structure damage on her.
you got goated after this thank you so much
@@mallytwotimess You're welcome brother.
This comment right here! Legit made me go from finishing the stage at around 55-60 down to 30ish now when used with the videoâs tips
You a real one guts
Dang I'ma try that for sure. Thank you!
One reason why I love this game is because I've watched 3x different videos on how to beat the 3rd boss and every single one has a different strategy. Whatever works !
thank you so much. I'm struggling with only her 1st phase because of the lows
Just got a perfect run thanks to this, another tip for phase 1 is when she does that crazy chase combo you can mash L1 to parry it as running away usually gets you hit
Thx
in the first phase when she does the attack where she runs at you swinging you can actually just spam left or right dodge and avoid every single one of her swings, it works better than sweeping her because it usually fills your focus bar to the max and lets you sweep twice if you have an upgraded focus bar.
I struggled on this for a little now I can beat her with no damage. I love how you always learn something whenever you die. Love this fucking game man.
U can slow down time to see if the bosses sweep or high attack
...basic shit always overlooked.. gonna use this to the advantage for sure!
I managed to get here at age 21, but end up 76 đ
Thank you so much for these boss fight videos theyâre really helping my I truly appreciate it
Mate your Sifu guides are fantastic
The first phass is like when your sibling lies down on the bed and starts doing bicycles with legs so you can get any closer
The cool thing is that if you get to the boss once and you die you instantly can go to the boss again if you using the elevator
Hardly, it gets to you the rain roomâŠ.
A good chunk of the level complete, but still a distance to go.
Youâve still got a long hallway fight, an extra tough brawler in your way, and the twins.
@@nicks4802 no it takes you directly to her
@@nicks4802 no you just have to beat the two guys at the beginning and then you're there
I feel this but at the same time I always feel incentivized to run up to the stair well into the room with the shrine to level something up so everytime I die I go and do that, wish there was a better way
I guess I could just forget about the shrine
First try w this guide. Amazing. Thank you.
it helps a lot! thanks Dan
Awesome strategy Iâm definitely using this!
Another way to approach this first part pretty easily: the move Dan points out you can just spam dodge when she does the flurry, I would just run out keep distance which seems to trigger it, let her come at me and dodge like Neo then beat her down. This made it really easy and pretty quick, I adapted that from this video where he mentions you can easily dodge that attack. Ended up being the quickest and easiest way to end her.
this is the most useful guide I've seen ever
Thanks man, this definitely helped
Thank you so much I struggled hard, and now watching this video, I was able to beat her after 5 deaths đ
I havenât beat this boss yet, but Iâve noticed the slide kick get you up close easily, you might not get damage but timing it you can get in good range
thaaaaannnnnks so much this helped me so much
Thanks a lot!
I really struggle with the second part of this fight but Iâve noticed if you get close enough to her so she begins attacking you can literally just hold L1 and spam dodge backwards to the beat of her attack and sheâll reach a stoping point where you can get in and hit her, rinse and repeat. Second phase is just all over the place lol
THank you so much. You saved me a controller đ. Absolute legend!
very very nice man thank you for this i apreciate it .
I've done a little but of research on the bonewheel attack and it doesn't seem to stop until you get into close range with her, it's also actually really good for parrying as it'll damage her posture and give you resolve
A somewhat easy method I found for the first phase:
At those shrine things, upgrade it so that you get focus bar when you dodge.
Now, when you see her doing that blade spinning attack that approaches you from across the whole arena, jump in and start weaving to get that focus bar up, eye jab her, palm push her, run in and sweep kick her, then smack her while she's on the ground. Rinse and repeat. Kind of takes long but it worked for me.
If you wanna trigger that spin attack just zone her and she'll do it.
I've found that eye strike followed by the heavy |pause| heavy string does solid damage to health and structure. If you're quick enough you can add a sweep in after and get the down attack to follow it all up
Goated.
Thanks man!
Thanks this really helped I passed it!!
Died so much to the first phase as I can't just understand her combos, but her second phase was so easy compared to her first
Completely opposite for me
In her second phase, if she does the close-up combo on you, all her attacks can be evaded by dodging downwards. Itâs so damn easy
Right. Itâs weird that her second phase was way easier to fight than the first
@@OmegaX_2340 her first phase is piss easy. The second cheats and makes no sense. You canât dodge or block anything
@@lewispooper3138 same but both phases negate any parry/block/weave I attempt. Literally feels broken.
Thank you! Finally beat her, may have been at 74yo when I did, but Iâm getting less old every run now
Thx man this helped a lot. Now I can start the tower with age 20đ€ đđœ
Thank you
Very informative, helped me beat Sean, or at least gave me little nit pickings so I can figure it out on my own. And now I can fight Sean without even dying. And now this video helps me understand how to fight her, with more practice I can learn how to beat her with no death. Thank you!
After some practice I think Sean is the easiest boss even easier than the 1st his first phase is easy af you just gotta watch for the sweep on his second phase
@@kingflocka6501 for surely Sean is the easiest boss once you get the dodge down.
You can spam dash and just stay behind her until she's done with the combo in the 1st stage. 2nd stage all you have to do is stand there dodge when you see her flash đž dodge right away and punish.
Thanks for the video mate. Still struggling to keep the right distance to be within range to get a few hits in when she does the jump. Tried parrying and learning her moves to dodge like Sean but your method looks like the safest. Anyway will keep at it.
She has too many moves for how many changeups she throws at you.
Not to mention her weapon of choice doesnât make telegraphing her moves and easier.
@@nicks4802 Finally beat her at the sweet age of... 73. I'm off to try again
Makes it soooooooooooooooooo much easier! Thanx!
You can spam avoid when she's doing the infinite spinny charge move at you so you can also pounce on her when she does that.
You can also use the kunai you catch to cancel her charge attack. Timing can be weird for that evasion, I find it easier to shut down the charge instead. Also seems to stun her sometimes.
Thank you đ
You rock! This helped me so much. Finally beat her at age 28. Now, let's hope I can get through the 4th and 5th levels.
The 4th is super weak to the swipe focus she takes a lot of life and structure damage just make sur you use the sanctuary before her to finish your focus bar ^^
@@adam622500 Thanks for the tip! I'll let you know how it turns out.
@@stevenrogers5912 thks i finished the game with the perfect ending a few hours ago ;) Wang is a true final boss but i spare him at the second try ( at the cost of my whole lifetime đđ )
You need to spam parry that spinning attack that she has where she keeps spinning it like a hose. It will build up your focus. Than sweep here for a free takedown
This really helps as im trying to reduce my deaths to under 30, this has been super helpful so thank you
I was happy with 40 lol
@@gregschneiderii7326 me toođ
Yâall are funny Iâm age 20.
Playing sifu on my second day playing i got to the museum at age 37 i was lit buddy love the level design im so excited for the next level
Just started playing this a few days ago, I'm at the museum age 32, kinda bummed out I had to watch a video to figure it out, thanks.
When she does the vertical spinning attack. Just hold L1 and spam Down.
Exactly.
When I discovered this made the fight way easier because I used to take a few hits when running and now I can avoid all attacks and still get to hit her after sheâs done.
If you use charging back fist chainsaws by something like lightning fists you can delete any boss when they try to start a combo
With the rushing spinning vertical strike. I find it easy to doge just rapidly mash back dodge and strike when the attack ends
How is no one talking about the fact that the first phase is literally a Kill Bill reference
I love the game , went to this boss at age 21
She put me game over. Senseless boss
For the first phase just hold LB/L1 and spam the left thumbstick side to side and RT/R2 at the same time to doge and avoid simultaneously, building focus, then focus sweep, holf B/Circle for ground punches into standing combo and repeat
like he said keeping a little bit of distance is key and i notice if u spam the dodge button and move left and right she canât touch u
when she does that windmill attack in the beginning, i just stand there and smash the dodge button. she attacks so quickly tthat i end up dodging nearly all the attacks and can punish her afterwards
Little trick for second faze try to weave when her blades sparkle you should always be able to weave it with no prob
Thanks again bro. Fuck! I needed this
Great tutorial. Went from getting doodooed on multiple 6-7 death runs to almost no deaths in 1 try. đ
For that first phase: take the baseball bat from the first 2 mobs with you in the elevator. Will make your life in phase 1 a lot easier
Good guide
Yoooo what, thx were able to beat her first try after ur help!! Tho at age 60!!
Tx. For both vids. You know when you say you can catch the knives. How can you dodge them instead? R2 or R1 and down/back
1:12 you can backwards dodge really quickly until sheâs done then that gives you an opening to strike
Beautiful
Weaving left and right (instead of up and down) during that long attack in the first stage is really effective and you can even punish her in the end.
Even better, you can parry her a lot. You may take some damage, but if you parried most of the time shell be down half her structure
I actually found it easiest to wait for her spinning weapon attack and then spam parry up, gives you more focus and still allows you to get some hits in.
Thx u bro
When I was fighting the first round of the fight it gave me the option to do the finisher so I clicked it and it killed her and it gave me the achievement but I was stuck in the level so I had to restart it.đą
I found that just moving side ways using (Shift) button on the keyboard while fighting her spares me the agony of dodging her attacks.
One thing I noticed is that on the second phase, when catching the knives and after successfully throwing back and hitting her about 3 or 4 times, she will be stunned for a longer period of time giving you the opportunity to run in, trip that bitch, and give her a 2 piece and a biscuit. Extra crispy!
Just keep in mind, once getting hits in while sheâs stunned, it will take 3 or 4 more knife catch/throwbacks to have her stunned for that longer period of time!
Thanks. This boss is truly frustrating.
In the first phase when sheâs doing the fast nunchucks maneuver instead of running just avoid and spam the analog stick left and right and thatâs an easy punish.
Good to know her 2nd phase's knives don't do damage over blocking. +Sub
âIâm not trying to make it stylish, just get you through itâ- me to myself for all my life đ
Thanks for the video, it helped me beat the game. After this the next hardest fight was Yang but I didnât even need help against him.
did u beat him without dying as well?
@@issy785 hell nahđ, iâm just taking my win where i can get it
@@karonscott1961 haha i feel that 100%, do you plan to replay it to get the true ending?
@@issy785 for sure, i didnât even know about it until this guy uploaded it. I never wanted to kill kuroki in the first place because it really seemed like she just wanted peace. So now that I know thatâs possible Iâm gonna spare them all
@@issy785 did you get it?
Im realizing now on the 25yo run, that I kinda just threw bodies at her until 2nd stage. Hence why im here learning how to actually fight her, so thank you lol
ty bro i finished her before at age 50+ now at 33, i started the level at 29 both times so thanks for tips, but i might be still a bit old for the next 2 stages :( haha
You can get a key to the elevator and take it straight to the boss fight as soon as you start the level. Tough boss to beat still.
Stick weapons can block knife attacks FYI. So if you carry a baseball bat into the file, you can full on go guard mode on here dance.
i got the game just yesterday and i got all the moves using just the first two stages..love this game
@shotstar3 yup, sekiro thought me that lol the game has some lite rogue like elements and it playswell into the "story" but i love the combat, the repetition does bother me at all..i just hop the bring in more modes later on.
How do you side step her on that second phase when she comes from really far away? Itâs doing my head in. I always get hit
You can beat the whirlpool if you have a bat. Spam parry and it's done. Don't even have to time it. It destroys your structure, but it's better than losing all that health if she catches you.
I just found out that if u have the perk that allows u to catch items being thrown at u that u can catch her knives and use them against her. Amazing game
Snap kick helps to stay back and get in a quick counter in the first phase
First try started 32, left 74 with a nail biting win.
Second try started 32, left 33 with one absolute bullshit death before the boss...spared her AND got the kill nil trophy.
Just had to get the rhythm and watching this in between runs helped immensely, thanks my guy.
You can skip straight to the boss unless once you get there once
@@snaxgalore5764 yep yep but I can't make myself pass up those shrines. Museum though at least you can still use a couple of shorter shortcuts and still hit all three shrines. I think it was the blue haired girl that got me, but now I just poke her in the eye and toss her over the rail lol.
@@bobbybigfellow8516 no dude! You can go straight to the elevator you only have to defeat 2 guards then straight to the boss lol
@@snaxgalore5764 yes I understand. I'm saying I use a couple of the other shortcuts in the level instead of that one, because I want all three shrines. And that path has the blue haired girl
@@bobbybigfellow8516 yea I suppose that would help to get all the shrines as long as you donât die
Bro is saving me 1 year later
Iâm just starting to fight her. Finding joy on the same attacks, but iâm weaving up, down, up, down and then punishing
Not sure if I can emphasize enough with him, GO INTO THE FIGHT WITH A BAT, and maybe the weapon damage upgrades too. They DEFINITELY help turn the first phase in your favor.
Would it help to have the third focus bar at this point in the game, or is the cost of neglecting other perks just too high to make it worth it?
Funny enough she's surprisingly easy for me because I played sekiro and she reminded me of lady butterfly.. but that means the second phaze was actually easy.. the first one I had too much trouble with because i wasn't using the dodge
