Made me laugh when your were like, oh yea you'll need to jack the wheels up, that was funny, thanks buddy, I have no idea what's leaking on my Hummer I see lots of fluid on my rack and pinion, but I feel like it's the pump or hoses dropping fluid from the top
So, with the engine running, look on the passenger side of the engine - just above the fuel filter - a little 'spark plug' sized sensor - is you iol sending unit - sometimes it fails and spray's engine oil all over the inside of the engine bay - drops down onto the axle... it's an easy replacement. If it's bad, you'll see oil puking out of it.
@@stevedecker6015 yea that oil sensor above the oil filter is getting corroded away because the power steering fluid is rotting it, I just bought all my parts, I will change it next time a I get a day off
What were the signs of your power steering pump going bad? I think mine is going bad, there's a weird noise when I'm stopped and turning the wheel. The fluid level is full.
Would a leaking power steering reservoir cause a oil light to come on? If not, then the light maybe coming on because the fluid is getting into the oil pressure sensor.
The power steering pressure line seal is an extremely common issue on the H3s. The seal will fail and leak directly onto the oil pressure sensor, eventually causing the sensor to trip the oil pressure light. When you pull the no.2 skid plate there will be fluid on the steering rack and other components. After removing the no.2 skid plate, slide under the truck and use a flashlight to illuminate the bottom of the power steering pump. It will likely be covered in grime (dirt + power steering fluid). Typically it's the seal that fails, not the pump.
Whats inside the actual reservoir? Is it all plastic? I just shoved an actual syring trying to siphon fluid cause I accidentally overfilled it.. Just hoping i diddnt puncture anything. Edit: I have a H3 aswell
Could you advise how you knew it was bad? I dont drive my 2006 H3 much any more but recently the turning became more difficult but still drivable... I think there was some noise when turning. I looked inside the reservoir after driving and saw some bubbles but I think that maybe normal after driving?
How did you find out it was the pump? I'm about to replace it to but hard to tell where the leak comes from, I'm afraid that it can be just the seals($5) and I want to buy pressure hose and pump together
@tkd fluffy got you, no sound on mine, wheels turn smoth, waiting on pump and hose assembly, maybe I made a mistake not replacing the seal rings 1st but hoses assembly looked little rusted, I went deep 1st, oh well....thanks for the input anyway man🤘
Hi , but you should have shown how you emptied the power steering liquid First before you remove the pump , and why you shooting of camera is so narrow ?Anyway thank you for the teaching .
I didn't empty the fluid before i removed th epump... this was a messy job... once i removed the pump, i was able to clear most of the fluid from the line by turning the wheel from side to side wit hthe pressure line in a bucket beneath the hummer.
I am getting back pressure from the power steering pump of the 2006 H3 I just purchased, and power steering fluid is spraying out from the reservoir cap. I don't know if the high-pressure and return hoses are leaking as well (too much fluid in the engine compartment.) I think if the pump is building up enough pressure to cause a spray from the reservoir, then its likely something is blocking circulation of the power steering fluid. Any thoughts?
The only thing 'after' the power steering pump besides the line is the rack and pinion steering pistons... I'd first check the line to make sure they aren't pinched somehow - and then replace the rack and pinion... but that's just me.
@mrs. fluffy no need to get all fluffy I'm merely correcting him as to what parts are called nothing else didn't make fun of him or anything else so no need to get all defensive if anything good job on his video

Nice, mine just went out. Thank you

You need more fluid if your seeing bubbles, it means your fluid is low.

Just had to replace mine and with new o-ring pump-to-reservoir leaks.Any pointers to solve this one? Thanks.

Where do you find a reservoir? I’m looking for one for my hummer
Will do this tonight haha

@@masterdecker9203 And that's exactly what I did (LOL.)
Is that a special tool to remove the pulley?
It's just a generic pully puller - rented it from an auto part store in town.
So you only used one o ring ?
Where do the Brass washers go that were with the replacement pump?
No idea. I don't think I used any
I was wondering the same thing.
Uuuuuuuum thanks
Why you did not show when you remove the screws
What screws?
@@masterdecker9203 I'm pretty sure he means the mounting bolts.
15 mm Metric
How much was your part
Amos Hill no idea
Funny!!!!
And is called a pulley not flywheel that one is on the back of the engine

@mrs. fluffy sorry but no is not, two completely different parts
@mrs. fluffy yeah OK have a great life
