  • VW Arteon 2018 with 20'' rims.
    Results end of the video and down bellow.
    Specs:
    190hp & 400nm
    4motion / four wheel drive (haldex)
    1700kg
    Top speed of 230km/h (not tested)
    Results for what Volkswagen claims:
    0-100 7.8s
    40-100 no data
    Resutls of my test:
    0-100: 8.25s
    40-100: 7.4s
    Test:
    VW Arteon with DCC - Dynamic Chassic Control. The DCC helps a lot, for excample with eco drive, suspension, gearshifts & steering. Much more comfier than a Passat B8 (2015-2018).
    The engine is quite good, quite powerful to be a VW TDI not as the BITDI 240ps but enoguh.
    The car has 20' rims, it was comfy but I think it reduced the 0-100 test since VW claims 7.8s.
    MY next car will have DCC! Highly recommended.
    The car had two problems while testing:
    1. Heat isolation from engine to the cabin - a lot of hot air trough pedal area.
    2. Rattle sound from dashboard, something was loose inside there.

    I would say its okay. Cause people this car is 1700kg or more deal with it...don't say i have a Honda CRX 99" goes 7sec to 100..cars nowdays are way way heavier and more equipment but also far better comfort and driving experience (for normal conditions).

    How do you activate the launch control

    • @DSGAuto
      @DSGAuto  Před 4 lety +4

      Turn off ESP/TCS, set the gearbox in S and if you have DCC put the car in Sport/Race.
      Then press the brake, then full thorttle while uou hold the brake and let the RPM build up and relase the brake :)

    Also bei 0-100 dreht er im 1. Gang nur bis 3500.. leider zu früh geschaltet sonst wären die 7.9 sicher drin gewesen.
    Haben uns den gleichen Motor im tiguan r line bestellt! 😎

    I am buying this car in few months, with 190 HP diesel. You say its fast from 0 to 100, but not so fast after that. Is it something bad?
    Like, I don't need the car to race with it, all I care about is when I am driving to be able to overtake quickly the car in front of me

    • @DSGAuto
      @DSGAuto  Před 4 lety

      Nice choice! Yep correct it’s a bit dead after 100, typical 2.0TDI. But I think it suits most people of normal everyday driving unless you have a country that always drives 140-160 like Germany, Poland and Russia.
      And kickdowns with a DSG 2.0TDI is the best thing, picks up speed.
      I would personally go for 240hp. But you can live with 190 too.
      One thing I recommend is 4motion, way much better driving experience + better in snow (the car is heavy) and you need DCC for beat comfort :)

    • @Sartheris
      @Sartheris Před 4 lety

      @@DSGAuto Thank you for your reply.
      I didn't choose 240HP because it would be more expensive and would eat much more gas. 190HP I was told is the golden middle - just enough power and very good fuel economy.
      Also I didn't wanted 4 motion for the same reason, price, but the guy from VW told me that while driving the car would speed up much faster if its front wheel drive, rather than 4-motion, because the 4 -motion would need more time to transfer power to all wheels. And I wouldnt really want to drive in snow anyway

    • @DSGAuto
      @DSGAuto  Před 4 lety

      Sartheris Stormhammer The 240 BITDI is thirsty🙈.
      The 190ps is like you said, the perfect engine allround.
      If the country you live in barley has snow, you can live with fwd ofcourse. The 190ps will spin a lot in rain, specially if you have things loaded.🙈
      If I was you I would try both, 4motion and fwd

      DSG Auto I think the TDI 190 will be the right choice. I don’t have problems keeping other cars speed when driving at 140-160 on highways and I have an HDI with only 115cv, getting around 6l/100. 190hp is enough for a normal user, everyday driving and you won’t have any problem overtaking or going up a hill.

      Its dead after 100, thats for sure. Hits a wall😂 not sure why. Same with the 240hp BITDI, 0-100 is insane but otherwise like a 150hp😶🙈

      The feel is the same on VAG diesel. Aa lot of momentum below 70 and on low rpms. The feel is not linear if you draw the power figure on a table as a BMW or Volvo diesels are

    • @DSGAuto
      @DSGAuto  Před 4 lety +1

      True that, typical VAG engines. Hits a wall between 70-90.
      But the benefit with the VAG engines are city driving and how they goes up to the speed without hammering the thorttle like you need to do with BMW (BMW works on higher RPMs»

      @@DSGAuto Yes I agree, new Audi A6 with 204 bhp 2 litre is only just about adequate, I can't understand why VAG are doing this

    • @DSGAuto
      @DSGAuto  Před 4 lety

      Daniel 1 Maybe fuel consumption or limit for the amount of power to chassis and engine pressure.
      But as I know VW has been like that for a while now. Wish that Audi was a bit different, I drive a 1.4TFSI and if I do hard acceleration I shift it before 5200rpm, it gets dead and slow if I push it to 6000rpm😬

      @@DSGAuto I had a 1.6 tdi Passat but it was very very slow was a 2010 b6 model with only 105 bhp, was nippy enough to 50 or so kmh maybe 60 but really really struggled after 80.
