Thank you so much for watching! xx - Jak na to + styl
her voice is so soothing and sweet
Bedroom voice...😍
Her eyes are also very kind. It sounds weird but she’s one of the few people I love looking at her eyes
Love her accent!
I like her , a lot.
I checked another clip on this topic and found it stressful, as the content creator was yelling and talking so fast. So yes, this is informative and not stressful.
I would also recommend not quitting your day job while you build your business! The pressure of making money to pay your bills when you're just starting out.... can burn you out incredibly quick. I very quickly discovered that and ended up getting myself a part-time job while building my business/second shooting etc. Could use my part-time job to pay for my bills, and the money I earned from photography was reinvested back into my business through buying gear etc. Especially with wedding photography - the gear requirements for a wedding are large compared to photographing something like family portraits.
Yes this is really important!! I used to work as a retoucher in a studio while I was trying to get my photography business up and running. Eventually you will start booking enough jobs and see a growth in your business so you'll know when it feels right to quit your day job and go full time with photography. Thanks for mentioning that 😊
Being the second shooter worked best for me as a part-time photographer, I have the oportunity to learn new things and improve my skills. Art direction is something that a lot of people overlook and I’m glad I have the oportunity to learn more and more almost on a daily basis, plus getting paid to do so ain’t a bad thing 😊
Thanks for your tips Julia, you’re truly one of my favorites 😘
Love from Brazil.
Thank you so much! And yes, being a second shooter is actually a great way of making photography a part-time job :D
Seriously, I feel like any questions I have you usually have a video for it. Its amazing and am truly grateful that you are doing what you're doing! Keep it up 😍

Hi Julia, I just discovered your photography a few weeks ago and have seen ten or so of your YT programmes. I have enjoyed them all, and found new nuggets of wisdom in each of them but I particularly liked this one! Thank you for sharing your valuable experiences and your tips which I found really useful; it's very generous of you and I really appreciate it. please keep at it!!!
This was so helpful! I am a fashion and small business photographer in the states. I’m still working some details out for what exactly I want to offer. I think this helped give me some clarity 💕
I love watching your videos Julia. You really help me realize that I am on the right path! I am shooing my first commercial shoot this weekend, and I never did that. Looking forward to trying something new!

Fall in love. With ur voice and ur eyes....
Thanx for sharing the knowledge. N this video is very helpful. luv from India.
Nice video. I am actually running businesses within something completely different. The idea of jumping the boat on photography has always been there, but after inheriting my fathers canon 5D IV and a few really great lenses the idea came to life even more so. This was very inspiring to me. Thanks!
This was a really awesome and inspiring video!!! Thank you so so much for sharing. Love watching your channel!
Thank you!
Great video! I did a volunteer gig for an event locally and before I did the event the company asked me to take photos the day before for the setup of the event! Was my first paid gig! It also helped to get my name and work out there as I gave all my business cards to people at the event, and the company credited me for the work! 1.5 million potential clients! I know it wont happen overnight. But one day I hope to just photograph as a job! I love doing it!
Awesome tips! Thank you for sharing. 😊
God! I can't stop watching your videos! Thank you!
You're so genuine!..
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. It is very much inspiring. I loved it. Expecting more from you.

super video... some great advice.. love for you to share some more knowledge on how to become a paid fashion photographer... this is my ambition just getting there is the tough thing..
As someone who already has a career (which I'm not giving up) and wants to pursue photography as a "paid hobby" (first camera ever is going to be my Christmass gift to myself), I really, really enjoyed this video. Thank you!
PS: I've been binge-watching your channel for the past few days. This isn't the first video I feel like I should thank you for. Great stuff!
Thank you! And how exciting with your new camera coming soon :D
Thanks for sharing Julia!

a very inspring video Julia…if only I was younger and looking at a career in photography…. but I‘ll keep it as a passion and hobby for now
Love this thanks for sharing! Your work is beautiful.
Thank you!
you looks amazing :) and your explanation so excited ...
Love this!
Thanks for the advice in this video. Really good. I'm at that point now where I'm looking to take as many portraits as possible with friends and family, to get that practice and experience
It was very helpful, thank you!
you have very inspiring videos. Go on like this
I have not started uploading my pictures online, however, I have been leaning towards uploading these pictures online. I needed to see a video like this that mentioned everything you said. Continue the great work thank you so much!!!! 😊
Thank you!
Girlllllllllllllll!!!!!?????? Thank you for this. This has been one of the biggest questions I've had as a burgeoning photographer. As Always, GREAT STUFF
Thank you!! 😄
This is so helpful!
thanks for the helpful tips. I actually was just thinking of asking someone to let me be their wedding photography assistant..but still wedding photography kinda freaks me out :0
Glad you liked it :) As an assistant you don't really have all that pressure of the main wedding photographer which is a nice way to ease into it. Once you have a system down and you're comfortable with your cameras and back up equipment (harddrives, etc) weddings are so much fun to capture!
Yes Julia, I found this video very helpful as I do all your videos. I just did a free portrait shoot for a friend this past weekend. I used your photography tips and came away with many great images. Peace
Ahh that makes me so happy to hear! 💛
Hi Julia! Thanks for the video! Just picked up my first mirrorless camera (Sony a7 III w. kit lens). Did my first portrait/landscape shoot yesterday and applied many of your shooting styles / tips in my shots, and they came out wonderful! Hoping to start a side business shooting weddings, portraits, model portfolios, and work my way up to professional shoots. Would be honored to be your second shooter! -Cheers, Rob
Your voice is soothing 😊
Thanks for the advice !
Thank you so much for this helpful informart

Hi Julia. Awesome video. I know it's been about 5 years since you did it but I just recently started to go pro in my photography field.

Love knowing you also started with a K100D!
I started with the k100D, now I have K1.
Wow! Pentax K100D was my first camera as well. Awesome!
Great video i loved the advice you gave...my issue is just getting myself out there...i think im ready i just have to get more confidence in myself.
That's always a big first step! Everyone has to start somewhere though, so don't be scared to share your work online! Growth is a wonderful thing to see as well :)
Julia Trotti where would be a good place to start?
Hi Julia, I have learned so much from following your channel! Thank you for sharing with us. I just watched your other video on how to build your photography business and I wanted to ask if you could share how you went about becoming a 2nd wedding photographer/assistant for another photographer before you were able to turn your photography into your own full time business. I think it is a brilliant idea to work alongside someone with more experience but I’m not sure how to go about it? Did you just contact them and ask if you could work alongside them? Thank you :)
I think these are great tips. Thank you! New subscriber here
Good value content, thanks
Really great tips Julia!! :) I enjoyed the video today very much! Especially the tip on how to get into wedding photography! I have my first wedding coming up in September and i'm quite nervous. I'm currently looking for some second shooting positions to get used to the flow a little bit and learn the main photographers duties a little more! Have a wonderful day :) And as always, I look forward to the next video!
I did my first earlier this year and it was an amazing experience. All I can say is always be ready for anything!!! I stood back a bit and took photos of what was going on but in hindsight I needed to direct the people so the photo's would work. Does not mean stop them doing things, just get them into better positions or move stuff out of the way etc. Good luck!
Thanks so much Alex, that's awesome to hear you have a wedding coming up - they are so much fun to capture! And I agree, I think if you can second shoot a couple of times before then you'll be a lot less nervous :) Good luck!
Cheers Julia! Thank you very much :)
Thanks for the useful tips
Thanks for the wonderful video
Absolutely right
I truly love your accent, so very cute!
I worked love to know more about the fashion photography and model portrait shoots
