- Actor, comedian and trans activist Eddie Izzard joined Tom Power to discuss his new film Six Minutes to Midnight, which he co-wrote and stars in opposite Judi Dench. It’s a spy thriller based on the real story of a 1930s British finishing school for the daughters of high-ranking Nazis. Izzard, who identifies as gender-fluid, also talked about taking on both male and female roles in film.

6 Minutes to Midnight is An Excellent Film about a Very unusual Subject!
I’m kind of genderfluid to ! And right now, I’m in boy mode to ! I also consider it my superhero thing. Today, I will be wearing boy clothes and if I feel like it, just a tad bit of make up ( but no more than Keith Richards ).
I’m like Eddie when she was younger and was just figuring out her gender. I even dress like she did back then ( kind of ). I call it, quietly flamboyant. Anyways, wether I’m in boy mode or girl mode, Eddie is one of my idols and I really admire her courage…
Edit: I actually don’t have girl mode, I do have a non binary mode and an agender mode. Gender fluid people can bounce back and forth between non binary genders too. As I’m writing this, I’m based in boy mode again today ( as a cis male ). But Eddie is still my idol…

I love Eddie - I have been following him for years and deeply respect his intellect and his journey.
Eddie is such an inspiring person. I don't care about pronouns either, in Eddie's case, verbs are more important for me!

I can't for the life of me understand why interviewers ask a person what pronouns to use when there are only 2 people talking. Its impossible, try it. It is only revelant when more than 2 people are interacting. Such nonsense.
When speaking to the audience, in regards to his guest, he wants to ensure he's not disrespectful. Clearly, he wanted to make sure he was prepared, just in case.

You might want to check out the first 45 seconds of the clip. The interviewer opens by asking about appropriate pronouns, and Eddie says, because of the nature of this particular role, "he/him" is perfectly fine. For Eddie, it seems the fluidity is the most important thing.

Apparently, you wrote this before you even listened to this interview. Also, if you had watched this, Wikipedia can be altered by anyone: it has nothing to do with the individual altering it.

Plenty of cis people still cross dress and plenty of people who used to cross dress were actually trans individuals who either did not have the words to describe that or did not feel comfortable identifying as such publicly.

Yeah madness, it’s like the idea of it all just being a binary black and white thing has ever always existed throughout many different societies all around the world at different times. Seriously they have books on anthropology written in English, just because they didn’t teach you about the world in school doesn’t mean it’s not there genius.
Dress however you like but heels, make up and clothes do not make you a 'girl' let alone a woman.
