    So the Covenant have a modified Focus Rifle that shoots special high damage needle rounds. That is really amazing. The Covenant weapons development is really amazing with how powerful their weapons are.

      ...the focus rifle is just a placeholder because players are not meant to see it.
      game development placeholders and easter eggs are not Canon. this doesnt literally mean that they have a Focus Rifle that shoots a Needler. by this logic, the scarab Plasma rifle from Halo 2 and the Tank gun from Infinite are real inventions by their respective militaries (they obviously are not). if they were real, why not just give every grunt a Scarab Gun?
      are you like, 12?

      Well the supposed needle projectile seen in the cutscene doesn’t behave like a normal one, is fired by an elite, who don’t normal wield such weapons, and the focus weapon is seen in the cutscene. And yes it is likely that Kat’s shields were down due to the glassing, the other strange occurrences that take place fully visible in the cutscene cannot be ignored. So unless cutscenes themselves can be considered non-canon, it is a reasonable assumption to make that Bungie put these tiny details in the canon bounds of the cutscene in order to hint at the possibilities of a an unidentified covenant “super” weapon.

    • @EA_SP0RTCENTER
      @EA_SP0RTCENTER Před 19 dny +1

      @@josephnolan3798 my guess with the needle rifle round - they changed a few properties on it to make it slightly more visible/noticeable. that's my theory on why it's different.
      sure, it could be the developers intention for it to have been an unknown "needle railgun" of sorts, but imo the simpler answer is the more likely one - bungie made a cool cutscene without thinking much of the implications of what's happened in the scene.

    The thing that bothers me the most about Kat's death isn't that her shields are down. It's that the Covenant were even in the area to begin with and spotted the Spartans in the first place. That area is being _actively glassed._ There's no reason for any Covenant forces to be there. Even if they were. What are the chances that, in that entire city, they'd run across the Spartans at all, and get in range without being spotted, and manage to get an angle, then manage to land a perfect headshot while the Spartans' shields just happen to be down. The list of coincidences involved is just stupidly long.

      i think the reason why there are covenant forces is that it's the field marshal from winter contingency who ambushed noble team with 2 other zealots, and since noble team were on open comms, the field marshal was probably able to determine their location and then go for a headshot on kat

      This is just a fun video speculating about how Kat was killed. Nobody is trying to make the stuff said in the video or comment section canon. You are getting butthurt over nothing. Kat’s death was game breaking. A needle rifle can’t straight up kill a spartan in one shot. Bungie literally skirted all over there own game rules but this plausible theory might be able to put an end to all the speculation One needle shard round can’t kill a spartan but one fired from a modified focus rifle should have the velocity and punching power to penetrate and collapse the energy shielding of the spartan armor. GeneralHeed is a great content creator and I never said my theory is the original. My theory is just a slightly modified version of the one he speculated.

  • @Ayequian

    I read somewhere online that the reason kats was so easily killed was because of the ironic character designs, for example. "Jorge said he'd never leave reach." Then ironically dies just off the planet or Carter being the commander/ captain and he goes down with his 'ship.' Just to name a few. But in this case Kat being the 'Tech specialist' who forgot to activate her sheilds after putting on her helmet or that her sheilds malfunctioned after the radiation from the Glassings.
