whats funny is that a lot of the new kids from the 2000s watching the og nowadays say the punches and sounds of the og feel and hit really hard and visceral. so much for all those tricks the remake tried : P

At least a small town in MO makes sense for this sort of film. The FL keys does not. They treat the keys like they are some remote backwater, when in reality they are all wealthy tourist destinations. There are no country bookstores in the middle of nowhere in the FL Keys. They don't have the room for that kind of thing.
Wow I can’t believe they decided to not make Dalton a career Bar guy. That’s CRAZY! This shows everything wrong with movies. They prioritize effects over story. Next they are gonna remake “Young Guns” and ruin my childhood!
I feel like the senior commissioning vice president at the production company had a stroke when he was writing a memo and his idiot intern interpreted his garbled email as 'Remake Roadhouse', rather than 'Call ambulance'.

We said wtf the entire movie. I personally haven’t watched the original road house and I still hated this remake. The basis of the whole movie immediately didn’t make sense in today’s world-constant nonsensical aggression, fighting and bullying without police presence and ppl keep coming, yeah okay. And without the sex, I guess that makes sense for all the spontaneous aggression, whatever. It was like an angry sausage party. My dad is a singer who gigs his whole life so the bands playing there every night and never stopping during the fights was idiotic. Mcgregor wasn’t fun, he made it even more uncomfortable with his psychotic smile and dildo up his ass walk. I can’t believe they put so much time and money into transforming Jake’s body for this trash movie. I laughed at this movie more than anything. Especially loved the line where he’s about to give the cop the concussion and he’s explaining how he’s going to tell on him that he killed people and he’s like “oh okay 🥴” 😂. Fuck this movie.
It’s bordering on criminal negligence to admit you’ve never seen the original. You must rectify the situation immediately. And then never ever think about or speak of this dumpster fire remake again.

I didn't find it cucked. Unnecessary remake, of course. Had some DEI casting that was shoehorned in for no reason. But I didn't think it was cucked.

Connor at least makes it a tiny bit fun for a few scenes.
The original took place in Missouri which is perfect, Missouri is a miserable place, I was stationed at Ft Leonard wood.

The bit that stood out to me was him losing his shit in the octagon and battering his opponent after the fight. That's a weak man's behaviour not heroic at all I've been in the octagon you don't act that way.

What I thought was so stupid was the story. Why not make this a sequel. I mean imagine, Patrick and the girl have a kid. Kid wants to be a fighter, since dad was a badass. Goes to UFC. Something happens and finds himself in his dads past life. Could have done something somewhat more original than a terrible remake.

I couldn't believe how bad this movie was. I rewatched the original again before this just to remind myself. It was a little cheesey etc. Nit quite as good as I'd remembered but solid. It looks like a masterpiece compared to this new garbage. I couldn't tell if it was a parody at times or what. The tone is all over the place. Terrible writing, some ropey performances, unlikeable characters, no real stakes or emotional investment. Then mcgregors character at the end, that was taking the piss. Sequel maybe? I certainly hope not.

I went to see Kong x Godzilla yesterday early show & i cant wait till you guys review that. Hopefully next. It was eh compared to Godzilla Minus One. On its own merits; it’s fine. Just don’t compare it to the original. It just doesn’t stand up.
The only good stuff were the fight scenes (when they didn’t use CGI). This movie is gonna become in one of those where you only watch clips from the fight scenes but don’t remember the plot. The original is so much more superior, it could also be considered a period piece because the charm and cheesiness from the 80’s is what made it what it is, a classic.

The worst part about McGregor's character breaking the neck of the bad guy is that you can that McGregor isn't even holding the actor at all, he stops an inch before the guys throat. The fighting in this movie was just so lazy and bad, and not in a fun way...

Connor is definitely the highlight of the film. He should have just been the main villain. And been in every scene. And given the movie a different name.

I think roadhouse 2024 is has bad they’re saying. I think the plot is simple and straight forward, the fight scene are good someone if daltons scene are pretty funny and shows alot of his character around others. Conor is Ight he isn’t bad nor terrible either he did his part has a psycho, bad guy. These fanboys or critics I should say are just super hard on it.
The original Road House and Rocky 4 both sucked.
