I seen him in Missouri last Saturday night. I felt like the luckiest man alive to see him in person.
My son used to sing this to his girlfriend before he died. He would call her from work and sing it to her over the phone. Listening to it today, it still makes me cry.

John wrote this song for his wife Julie, who he credited with helping melt away the anger he felt about the fallout with CCR, the lawsuits, and the death of his brother, who died before they really got a chance to make peace. John said that Julie told him one of the happiest days of their time together was the day he brought a guitar home and started playing again. Around that time, he also started slipping CCR songs more regularly in his concerts than he had before.

My very first concert was seeing this man at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria. His wife was there and he mentioned to everyone in the arena that it was her birthday.. He got every one of us to sing this song to her.. To this day it remains one of the best performances yet! Beautiful song.
Danced right in the front row with my girlfriend, when John Fogerty was in town and performed this song. Loved how it seemed like he kept looking over in our direction with the biggest smile on his face. He truly loves his fans and the impact his music has on all of us
