***** It was a reference to one of the bosses' sprites from final fantasy 2. It's pretty similar to this one. And as you can see in this image it's a freaking sprite edit. OF COURSE It dosen't fits in a famicom.
+Dark_Rose_Z A very loose reference, and if you wanna be technical it could be a reference to the original game's Astaroth since that Astaroth is very similar to Emperor's final form, and a bunch of enemies from the PSX/GBA/PSP port, because the basic pose and angling isn't exactly a brand new thing.
And uh, seeing as I made the thing: no, it's not an edit. It was GOING to be an edit of FFVI's Number 128, but I wound up just drawing Asgore over it and doing everything from scratch. So excusing the fact that the base shapes were drawn OVER an existing sprite, this is in no way an edit.

Looking at how much bigger Asgore is compared to Frisk, it makes it that much more idiotically hilarious how a child with at best a toy knife was able to kill or defeat a fully grown, armoured, trained man with a proper trident weapon that would literally skewer you in a single poke. Not to say he has powerful fire magic that would incinerate you the moment it touches you.

This is still my favorite ASGORE remix (and I've never played FFVI). It fits the emotion of the original, doesn't try to be too flashy with orchestration or guitars, but still keeps itself interesting with different soundfonts. Also, the section of ASGORE I love the most is 0:53 - 1:44, since it's the section that best conveys the feeling of trying to dodge ~3979125 fireballs with dramatic fire in the background, and you really nailed it with the octave jump + instrument change.
As toxic as the UT fanbase is in general, it by know doubt some of the best pieces of work (art, music, and even fanfiction sometimes) I've ever seen. The music was already phenomenal, things like this just make it.....

Although if you do have enough Fire resistance I expect the fight would be cake.
If we're following FF standards anyway, maybe it could go like Galuf's plot battle against Exdeath where despite hitting 0 hp, keeps fighting does more damage.
Or, ya know, since Asgore's not looking at Frisk, deliberately miss most attacks.

I have the c700 plugin on my mac in garageband but it always plays on channel 1 and doesn't play when I restart the track. How do I switch the tracks so that I can use different samples on one part of the track?
No idea how it works on Mac, or in GB, or I'd be able to tell you.
In FL at least, you essentially have to just tie the proper MIDI-OUT or whatever output channels to the C700 output channel(s), and then use the bank numbers in conjunction with any existing bank numbers on the track.

Asgore's scripted and counter attacks, plus battle messages:
-merciless: unique status effect that prevents the use of specifically white magic. cannot be dispelled and lasts until end of battle. hits entire party. (simulates him destroying the mercy button)
-Counter - Bladeblitz: deals physical damage whenever asgore is hit if he has blue eyes when "in the shadows" (simulates his blue attack when he does the rapid slicing attack)
-"Asgore enters the shadows!": message displays when he reaches about two thirds of his health, and ends when he reaches a quarter of his health. he is immune to physical attacks when his eyes are blue, and immune to magic when his eyes are orange.
-Counter - Flare Star: same with his baldeblitz counter, but with magic when his eyes are orange. (simulates his orange attack when he does the rapid slicing attack, because magic users need to stand still when casting.)
-"Asgore is knocked out of the shadows!": message displays when he is at a quarter of his health, but he busts out the big attacks after this. but before that? that is below this.

Prote-shell: shell and protect at the same time.

Last Chance: he will always be left with 1 hp, starting a cutscene.
Entrustga: uses if you spare him, before killed by flowey. a full-party entrust.
Party for this battle (the game this fight would be in, UnderFantasy, would be Xenoverse-style with frisk solving timeline anomalies, so this is just an example):
