Well sweetheart, it depends on how you want to translate it. There are indeed two ways to look at it, however, if you watch the Du Hast video by Rammstein it goes along with you have and not you hate.
The “tricky thing” is, that first three words can mean various things. “Du hast mich” as in “to have” (someone/something) or “Du hasst mich” as in “to hate” someone or something. So piece by piece it will get to the actual first section (of the first part of the sentence). I just listened to it as well. Actually they aren’t liked or understood by some people and regarded (but I am not in school here nor am I trying to be an expert) a “controversial band” alike.
