Those are tough flying changes coming off a tight corner. You basically have to have them in counter flexion coming off the turn so you then have time and the bend to get the change. Which is never easy on a hot horse! Good job getting through it!
BravO Superbe riding and Zebedee is just such a brave big heart i used to ride a pony called zebedee in London Ross Nye stables in the early 80's a very ugly skewbald with a big roman nose and the naughtiest pony ever makes me laugh how handsome your zebadee is not exactly the Zeb i knew but he does have a lotta character too THANK YOU for sharing with us xxxx
Ashley, You and Zebedee make XC look so easy! I'm a jump judge for all sorts of Eventing shows, including CCI 4* and down, so I know exactly how big those jumps are. You two make them look so small as you're sailing over -- no problem! I applaud your determination to just keep at it. I'm so happy to see your continued vlogs. ASH & ZEB, PARIS 2024! ;-)

Did well to not chuck the towel in during the dressage. Tactfully ridden. You did well to finish the test. At Badminton, there was a French horse who came second last in the dressage and who ended up being 30th. Can't remember what year that was but it was fairly recently. Edited to add that I was really impressed with the footage that your parents were able to get.
The problem with competing on an animal with a mind of its own is that sometimes they don't have your goal as firmly fixed in their mind as you do. But we love them anyway!! Brilliant vlog, terrifying XC fences

How do you muck out shavings on grass without digging the ground up? How do you get the wet spot up and clear the stable at the end of the event? Straw on grass is as simple as raking it up. Is straw really a greater fire risk then shavings? Is that even the reason shavings are being used? Does the event allow straw? Lastly, why do I ask so many questions?
Hahah all valid questions! 😍 just don’t dig too deep! 🤣 often at the end of the events you don’t have to clear the whole stable out as I think they take down temporary stables and then use a tractor! Some events use straw but most just provide shavings ☺️ events do allow straw but if you wanted straw and they were providing shavings you would just have to bring your own straw! I have often thought about that but they all seem to cope really well as there are so many horses all being fed at different times! Zeb isn’t interested in food so he’s never bothered! Doesn’t even eat his own breakfast and dinner when you give it to him 🙈

Dear Ashley, congrats on the nice x-country round, even though the rest didn't go like planned and thanks for the very nice video! I'm a new subscriber and really enjoy your videos. Just one very technical question: Maybe for future videos, you could try and balance the volume a bit. Quite often, when you or someone else is talking the volume is rather low, so I turn up the volume to hear what you're saying. But when a part with music playing starts, the music is pretty loud and I'll have to turn the volume down... as a result, I'll adjust the volume all the time while watching... I'm not sure if others have the same issues but depending on the software you're using to cut your videos it might not be that difficult to fix :) Thanks so much and good luck with all your horses!
Hi Antje, I edit Ashley’s videos so thanks for the feedback and noted. I believe this is partly down to the software and partly down to filming with an iPhone in windy conditions. I try to balance the sound as best I can but, as you say, there seems to be a notable difference between voice and music which the software doesn’t seem to highlight. I’ll definitely look into it for future vids 👍
Hi Ashley, I’ve noticed that Zeb does a lot of head shaking. I’m not being a busy body, but have you ever had his ears checked?. I’m not being a Karen or anything like that LOL just curious. Or does he just do it when he’s excited?

Does it upset horses at shows when their neighbours are fed before them? Did you think I had stopped asking questions?
