About FISCO: The Friends of Indian Senior Citizen’s Organization (FISCO) is a social work agency supporting Asian Indian senior citizens residing in towns in the northwestern part of the Boston Metro Region. The organization has four main programs with the mission to reduce isolation among seniors. Their programs and activities consist of frequent social interactions and gatherings, education for the maintenance of good mental and physical health, a signature hot meal served each week on Wednesday at the Burlington Senior Center, and a Desi-Meals-On-Wheels program with food delivered to the homes of seniors in surrounding towns.

Great to know about an organization like FISCO. Empty Nests and lonely Sr Citizens is a growing problem in today's world of nuclear families and busy lifestyles. I know of 2 people who had to shift to old age homes( call those by any names) since their families were too busy in their respective jobs/ businesses and found it difficult to take care of elders in their sunset years. It is happening in India as well! Getting seniors together so that they can get company and affection, a feeling of being cared for, is a great social service!
Thank you Sirji 🙏. FISCO's work is a testament to the importance of social support and the power of connection in addressing societal challenges. It's a reminder that we all have a role to play in ensuring that our elders feel valued, cared for, and integrated into our communities.
