Once India gets out of its own way, nothing can stop it. I've been saying this for years. I can't wait for India to surpass China in terms of real GDP. Cutting-edge manufacturing and supply chain technology, stable and modern monetary policy, accommodative infrastructure build-out are all key to their success. One of the youngest age demographics in the world, this is a once-in-a-lifetime moment to harness this resource and educate these young people to build India to its full potential. This American is rooting for you, India.

The collective enthusiasm among Indians for India is a happy reminder for me of the enthusiasm Americans had during the 1950-60s. Today, many young people in America are ashamed of their country, converting into anti-America haters with the enthusiasm of a brand-new convert. This is a bad place to be.

This would have drastically changed the outcome of what happened in Fukushima.

Individually speaking, Indians are of great potential of success. But when put into a group, sometimes things are not working out because of everyone has big ego.
Indians definately have great potential since each indicidual are great, but a lot of times, they need to put away their big ego since teamwork is what really matters.

This guy is full of it. He called China a place that doesn't make anything LOL.
Adding value on a manufacturing supply chain is a growth process that Japan and South Korea all went through and is still doing, China has moved up the manufacturing value chain for many if not all industries.
The fact that he dismisses the process of reaching high tech manufacturing economy, (first through low value added manufacturing), as nothing to emulate should tell you this guy is full of it.
He is the embodiment of what is wrong with India, wanting to achieve quick results while not doing any of the hard work.
Just take a listen of what he's saying, in his over 1 hour rant about how india will be superpower did he say the word "Infrastructure" a single time? NO. to be even considered a low end manufacturing power, you need some decent infrastructure, otherwise how are you going to ship the goods around and export it?
This is the problem of india, claiming they've identified the "problem" which is always some political problem mainly caused by the opposition, but never about infrastructure which is the actual hard work countries need to develop.

I graduated in Electrical Engineering from Poona India in 1957 & then worked in Public Sector & Siemens India all over India based in Bombay but worked in most of the Indian States in Bengal/ Bihar/ Orissa & Assam in Eastern India for Industrial Projects while in Siemens India - so I agree 100% with what Dr Swamy says about Indias potential- I know that since I interacted with my Indian colleagues of all religions & faiths Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Parsees & Christian/Catholics- of which I am a staunch one from Goa- as my name suggests.

I just thought yesterday that India is the crucial country in the battle to save freedom.
If the US can help to build up India along with Brazil and even Russia as we work to save our own democracy and freedom (I’m American) and strengthen ties with all of them, we will essentially prevent China from taking over.

India can't even feed itself with most people living in absolute poverty.
We should not involve them in our military attempts to contain China.
It will just cause more suffering for the poor in India. And we've done more than enough damage with our meddling in the 3rd world already.

Lol. US helping to build India? Bro, the US are even having difficulty helping itself. Being in USD28 trillion in debt, with plans to spend another 6 trillion adding to that pile just to keep up with China in terms of infrastructure and trying outrun the Chinese on tech. Good luck getting any help

We had been working to seperate influence of China over Russia, but western countries especially Europeans and NATO started their campaign in the form of Ukraine-Russia conflict which is still ongoing. This has given China edge over Indian influence over Russia.
Still, we are trying to drift Russia's interests away from China but as long as this conflict is ongoing, China is being benefited from it.
Fact: Russia is a military superpower, while China is an economic superpower.

According to me, the biggest problem that a democracy can have is to be a democracy!! this makes people decide what's the fate of the country for the next 4-5 years. This can become a setback to the the country's growth, where the people who don't have knowledge of long term goals of a country, try to choose a lethargic/non-competent/anti-national leadership for there short term personal gains. Thankfully, India has a kind of leadership that has the guts to take strong decisions, although the pandemic has costed our PM lose some of his reputation of being a incontestable political decisions, He still has proved to be the best option India have had after former fierce PM Indira Gandhi.
Not only that, he has granted unquestionable power to the Indian military in order to tackle China, And he has made India proud internationally and lifted India's perception as a country for the West. Yes this is difficult time for him to stabilize the oppositional propagandas inside the country, but eventually he will succeed. We will see him as a PM again in 2024.

Lifted India's perception from west from democracy to electoral autocracy. Very good. And bullshit people keep using terms like anti national.😑

@@sahdevrai3368 As if it wasn't a electoral autocracy in the congress regime for 70 years, with one party, one family, one supremo. As if Indira Gandhi wasn't a dictator, and manmohan Singh wasn't a puppet? And some dickheads believe Modi made democracy into an autocracy! What a bigotry, isn't it?

Subramanian Swamy is one of the most candid and learned politician in India, this is one of the most well-thought interviews I have watched in recent years. Firstly thank you, Kudos to you Patrick bringing such people to the table and having such a discussion with them. Whatever he has said is so true including the taxation, agriculture industry, I hope we can see some of the reforms in coming years and India once again is on the growth track, China and India is soo very different that they shouldn't be compared (In my opinion ) both countries despite their challenges have shown significant potentials in their respective path, yes we have differences and conflict scenario has risen but I believe that if political interest can be set aside Asian countries have much more offer in solving the problem which far more catastrophic( environment, health, energy)
