    Live editing of the pedal (either of them) via software is what people want. At this point, IK should release a complete midi api that allows setting/reading all parameters (preset and global) - the user community will quickly produce better software.

      Except for the fact that Tonex doesn't do MIDI

      @@faben70 Maybe Tonex One yes but the original Tonex does have midi in and out

      @@faben70 Tonex does support midi, it’s in the manual. Tonex one does not, or at least it’s not published. I experimented with midi/tonex and can make changes to presets live on the pedal. The only problem is you can’t read the values from the Tonex, so that leaves any third-party developers in the dark.

      Geez, yes, I was thinking of the Tonex One. Which is the one that would benefit much from being MIDI-controllable

    Jason thanks so much for the notification on the updates. I am new to ToneX via the Tonex1. Since receiving it I have been learning the ToneX app. There have been some frustrations in that area for me. Upfront, the amp capture models sound incredible. I have it running thru my LIne 6 HX Stomp loop and only running effects and it sounds great. The frustration I have with the app has to do with when you change an amp model on your presets, its hard to navigate back to those in the app to make further tweaks.

    Thank you for the update man! I'm glad to see that now we have the direct monitoring switch on the Tonex One, it was driving me mad having to use a separate interface just to hear the presets on the software. If they add live editing on the presets this would solve my main issues with the unit. The tone is amazing, we just need to have a better editing interface now.

  • @Luke_Williamson

    Once again no update so that we can change setting on the pedal in real time through the software like nearly every single modeller out there. But wow I can rename something. Typical IK

    • @gregmican
      @gregmican Před měsícem +7

      I think that is what bothers me the most about the software.

    • @kellygreenii
      @kellygreenii Před měsícem +2

      This is a software based system. The pedal is just so you can take your sounds out in the real world.
      Asking work like a hardware based system is a big stretch.

    • @Luke_Williamson
      @Luke_Williamson Před měsícem +6

      How? Line 6 do it, kemper does it, fractal does it and quad cortex Don’t seem like a stretch at all. Makes way more sense to have it then it does to not.

    • @kellygreenii
      @kellygreenii Před měsícem +3

      @@Luke_Williamson Because those modelers started out as hardware based systems…the developed software to make it easier to interact with the hardware. So the hardware is very capable…but the software (especially Kemper) is still pretty rudimentary.
      I have an Axe Fx 3. That thing is as powerful as a rack mounted PC…and costs as much as a high-end gaming computer.
      TONEX started off as software it basically just gives the ability to add captures to AmpliTube (also software based). All the pedal is designed to do is allow you to take the basic captures out into the world without a computer, and tweak them in some very basic ways.
      I wouldn’t be surprised if your smartphone has more processing power than the TONEX pedal.

    Great update IMO. Sure, not every thing users have requested but things take time. I think latency improvements and the global ToneX One controls through software will be super useful.

  • @GxBxN

    Good to hear about the latency improvement - I think that was a point of contention for some (definitely not for me!) As echoed above, these little updates are ok, but I’m really hoping that IK are listening to their users and working on a standalone ‘editor’ to allow editing content on TX pedal directly.

  • @kgofswg
    @kgofswg Před měsícem +1

    I really wish IK would add an option on the Tonex One to use the "tuner" function as a pedal "bypass" instead of a tuner. This functionality would allow users to have 2 Tonex One's on their board in A/B mode and have the ability to switch between to the two pedals without the need for an additional A/B box. The ability to only bypass in Stomp mode is a major fail to me, and the only reason I haven't swapped my big Tonex pedal for 2 Tonex One's. What's everyone else doing when using 2 Tones One's?

    I don't recall if this was there before but I noticed when you click the "i" (preset info) icon/tab when hovering over a given preset, it gives you the quick visual overview of the signal chain that's in place. Maybe it was there this whole time and I just noticed it now? haha

    I would like to tweak the Tonenet and Collections amps but it is impossible. You can just play the AMPS that are on presets A, B or C.

    Thanks for this Jason 👍 do you know if there’s any latency issues when using the two different pedals now? I was hesitant to buy a Tonex one to compliment my original Tonex pedal for that reason. May be a good video to show whether there’s any of those problems or whether it’s a nonissue now 😊

    Hi. Should I lower the input trim if I am running into a SD Powerstage 170? Or is that just for when recording into an interface?

  • @DhiLourenci
    @DhiLourenci Před měsícem

    How are you doing? All good? :) I bought Tonex One and I'm not able to configure the pedal's global equalization to make a "Low Cut - High Cut" in the Frequency Range. To limit the speaker frequencies.. Could you help me? thanks

  • @faben70
    @faben70 Před měsícem

    When disabling direct monitoring, the signal going to the PC is passed thorough the selected model: so, if you really want to use it as just an interface, you have to go to stomp mode and put it in bypass; if I'm not wrong, the big pedal in "Interface" mode behaves the same, anyway (but bypassing the current model is quicker).
    I also find that there is a difference in volume between the same model when played through the pedal and when played through the software using the pedal as interface. It's about 3dB. Better to lower the input level or the output level in the software?

  • @WholeLottaBulldog

    Still no option to use the second output of the regular ToneX pedal with an IR while keeping output#1 without cab.
    But, this does not take away that the video is well done and explains all of this very well. So thanks a chunk for doing this video! You are my main reference when it comes to checking what an update has brought to the table.

      Isn't it already there? Hold ALT for 6 seconds then in Global Mode the Vol/Gain knob is your global volume. I like to keep it at max for more headroom with my presets.

  • @luciopooh
    @luciopooh Před měsícem +2

    that useless updates, the important ones they don't do, this means they don't listen to customers. But what's the point of releasing a new firmware for a slight improvement in latency and only in stand alone. Nonsense.

      Because some players are very latency sensitive?
