Does he have a cage and a Gunny too? Do you have another uncle named Ivan who never visits any more?

Bloody hell they really put Ailsa through the mill in this storyline.

Ahh she was used to it, she'd had some much harder days fending off Joan Ferguson when she was in the clink for whacking some dude. She's old school hard, you heard what she said she'd do if she ever got ahold of Gunny.

@@SummerBayJournal That's why every family in the Bay used to have a good ole Gunny in the shed. Heck these days those flamin' galahs are far too busy listening to music, dancing like bellends, crying over words that are violence, screwing around with Rhonda and Ketut's cult and getting blown up by deranged dodgy cosmetic peddlers while trying to figure out whether or not Palmer's still gay from his old days in the Navy. It's not the Bay it once was in the halcyon years when Flathead ruthlessly ruled the roost at Summer Bay High with an iron fist, Alf had the Bra Boys at the Surf Club on a tight leash, Irene and Ailsa were using the diner as a front to smuggle arms to cousin Saddam in the Middle East and Pippa and Michael were making a killing in handouts from fostering kids while cropping weed in the bush behind the caravan Park. I miss the old days. Sigh.

Bet Ailsa deep down was glad that the trauma counselling session, gave her yet another new excuse to pop out for while and get someone else to hold the fort at the Diner, this time being Alf!

Yeah, that's probably why Alf got ole Gunny out, to sort out any customer complaints the old school way and to also have a ready made hot meal available if Ailsa's robber/boyfriend ever returned. We used to call that 'killing two birds with one Luger' back in the old wild west days in Summer Bay before the backpackers suddenly stopped visiting for some unknown reason.

I'm never moving to Summer Bay 😂

Ahh you'll be fine, Alf's not really that interested in hunting backpackers and tourists any more since his 'cousin' Ivan went to jail.

The kid in the cowboy outfit was a figment of her imagination, she is always seeing stuff and Alf is just used to it by now. The guy with road rage also wasn't really there and the kid is just used to mom being loopy.

I don't remember the English bloke but he was awful wasn't he? Just when Irene helped her get her mind off everything with the bungled burglary that ended up with Sally being shot

Title edit- 'The one where Alf fell in love all over again with Gunny' Well that was one helluva flamin' roller coaster of a ride! I'll be a monkey's uncle if this episode didn't bring a lot of previously seemingly loose threads together in a nice flowery lace bow. So old Alf's dad got ahold of Hitler's luger and a few of his mate's other toys after that flamin' galah Adolf had used Gunny to clear his blocked nose, then after Alf's dad cleaned Adolf's brains out of the mechanism, he took it rabbit shooting with young Alf. I'll bet those Nazi bunnies never knew what hit 'em with Alf's dad on the luger and young Alf on Rommel's sub-machinegun in a flanking maneuver par excellence. So now we know where Alf's insatiable lust for blood came from, what a flamin' massive plot twist, I'd always though he first caught the bug in Nam! After seeing the way young Duncan made a grab for Gunny as soon as he laid his beady little peepers on it, it was obvious that he sure has that same old Stewart killer gleam in his eyes too. Heck, I reckon Alf will definitely be leaving Gunny and the cage to him in his will and young Duncan'll do both his dad and grandad proud by keeping it fully stocked with German backpackers.
It was a bit confusing to hear Alf's mate Mick describe Ailsa as a 'decent reasonable sort of person' rather than a 'decent reasonable sort of convicted murderer just trying to keep her next total meltdown at bay' as she's always previously been described around Summer Bay. Then as if we hadn't already had enough excitement for one episode, they went and chucked in Australia's first ever road rage incident after Ailsa finally completely lost her marbles texting while driving, got a dose of white line fever and tried to run one of the cast of East Enders who was looking for some holiday work in Summer Bay off the road in his rental XD Falco rock me Amadeus. Pity they edited out the bit at the end where Flathead pulled out Hirohito's samurai sword that his own dad had liberated and turned that whiny pom into a kebab. Well I need a flamin' lie down after all that excitement, from now on I'll definitely be looking at Alf and Duncan in a whole different light rather than just Ailsa. I sure as heck won't ever be turning my back on either of them again when I go around for a few quiet beers in the shed on payday and maybe the scriptwriters should even get Cash and Rose to open an investigation into the true circumstances of Ailsa's death. What a wild ride that was, I hope there's a part 4, maybe they'll call it 'Gunny's Revenge- the one where Ailsa climbed the water tower and settled a few old scores that were long overdue'.
