Diantha's Anime team is exactly the same as her Game team no need to specify. the episode was so fast paced people didn't notice.
Man, Diantha is so underrated, I love her design and her character overall, being a world famous actress and all. Ik she's not the strongest (amd GF made sure we knew in that horrible match in the championship #JusticeforDiantha) she's definitely my favorite Champ alongside Cynthia 🤍🖤

Diantha really is underrated and overhated just because she didn't have much screen time
Anime Diantha is posed as an elite trainer... her in-game battle, even with the battle being scripted to be a victory like every other Champion battle, is laughably easy. Her and Geeta are the WORST overall Champions in-game
This was much needed after the absolutely horrendous Leon Vs Diantha so as to justify how insanely inaccurate it was, and pretty much answers those Diantha haters who think Leon should have beaten Diantha 6-0 because he has an Aegislash and a Dragapult bla bla bla ...
Even if we negate the luck factor, Leon Vs Diantha should have been 5v6 or at it's maximum limit, 4v6. But Leon just hacks his Pokémon and gives his Rillaboom Huge Power or Moxie 😒
Here's how Diantha's battle with Leon should have gone.
Dragapult battles Aurorus who attempts to set up Reflect and Light Screen but is immediately put on the back foot by Dragapult's Infiltrator. It attempts a Refrigerate Hyper Voice but Dragapult uses Phantom Force to avoid it and win.
Tyrantrum's up next and after taking a Dragon Darts, it sets up Rock Polish and follows it with Strong Jaw boosted Crunch. Dragapult breaks free with Thunderbolt and launches a Dragon Darts while Tyrantrum uses Rock Slide. Both attacks land and both Dragons faint.
Rillaboom then sets up Grassy Surge (it was stupid of the writers to not give it that Ability) and beats Hawlucha with Acrobatics partially because Grassy Surge is healing it and partially because Hawlucha misses a High Jump Kick. Rillaboom then beats Gourgiest with Knock Off but Grassy Surge wears off, allowing Goodra to finish it with Fire Blast.
Leon sends in Charizard, expecting him to clean up the rest of Diantha's team but when it fires Dragon Pulse, Diantha switches to Gardevoir and immediately Mega Evolves. Mega Gardevoir splits Charizard's Heat Wave with Psychic and blasts it with Thunderbolt at the same time. Leon Gigantamaxes Charizard who inflicts massive damage but falls to the Max Airstream, G-Max Wildfire and Psychic combination that was shown in the actual episode. Then Mega Gardevoir inflict a OHKO on Inteleon, who was expecting Thunderbolt but wasn't ready for the Pixilate boosted Hyper Voice that Diantha was saving as a last resort.
With 4 Pokemon down, Leon's finally sweating a bit because he wasn't expecting Diantha to make such an impressive comeback with only 2 Pokemon. He sends in Cinderace, who finally knocks out Gardevoir with Sucker Punch but is recalled after Goodra blocks its Pyro Ball with Muddy Water and blasts it with Dragon Pulse. Mr Rime hits Goodra with Freeze Dry but Diantha notices that it needs its cane to attack, so Goodra uses Power Whip to damage and disarm it before defeating it with Fire Blast. Exhausted, Goodra finally falls to Cinderace's Iron Head but the crowd cheers for Diantha nonetheless, having just witnessed a magnificent last stand from her Mega Evolution and her Pseudo-Legendary.
That would have been far more dignified for Diantha. It would also show that Leon has a major flaw which is getting overconfident whenever he gains an early lead in a battle. He's so used to beating opponents without using his full team that he forgets that Diantha is a smart and focussed trainer, so she makes the best of a bad situation and shows him why she's Kalos' Champion.
I just replayed through X, and I had a nostalgic trip from the battles, the mechanics, and the different pokemon in the regions

Feels weird how Aurorus who has considerebly the worst typing in the game takes out Leon's Ace

To be fair, it's matchup into Leon's Charizard isn't to bad despite being a horrid typing. Takes neutral from fire and resists flying so you don't have to worry about his STAB moves. You are weak to his coverage moves though, but having high HP and decent special defense means you can probably take at least one hit from either of them, and should be able to kill with your own Rock STAB.

In terms of games, Diantha could have won Leon. But the script required Leon to beat her like that.
13:08 If I had a nickel for every time an important trainer with a Togekiss had only special moves and then had Hustle instead of Serene Grace, I'd have two nickels, one for Cynthia and one for Opal. Not a lot, but it's very strange that it happened twice.

This is cool. I've always loved diantha and especially her theme. I was very frustrated that the anime represented her in battle poorly imo. Leon's win shouldn't have been a sweep, and he is not very strong in game for me at least. She's a champion and they made her look like a rookie taking on a gym for the first time.

They were trying to imply Leon is the unbeatable champion, suggesting he is the most powerful perhaps? Still definitely agree. Another point to mention Sword and Shield is quite easy to beat, whereas BDSP is much harder. No logic to be honest. I think the AI are just stupid easy for kids to enjoy. After generation 5, it got really easy, but that's just my opinion.
As for Rose, maybe! I'll have to experiment, I do have a huge backlog however but I'm sure I can give it a go :)
Maybe Wallace? Five of his members can be found before the first gym and the last one before the dark gym and he has a solid team.
HOW IT SHOULD HAVE ENDED, HISHE, Pokemon edition. I now have proof that Diantha shouldn't have lost the way she did in Journeys. Leon used 3 Pokemon to beat her which I was calling BULL on that.
since most of her pokemon aint bad, mega gardevoir would demolish rillaboom in one shot and do the same with aegislash and dreepys evolution, hawlucha demolishes rillaboom again, goodra just erases mr. rhyme and so would gourgheist, which would also threaten aehislash and dreepys evolution, tyrantrum and aurorus would then be left to sweep giga charizard, and considering the moves tyrantrum have that would be a swift victory

Can N beat Pokémon Sword and Shield?
Basically, you're only allowed to use Pokémon from around the area you're in at all times, for routes you're only allowed to use Pokémon from that specific route, for cities you're allowed to use from routes adjacent to the city, and for the wild area, pretty much anything goes but you must find it in the wild area
You must release any prior Pokémon after catching one from a new route
I really like this idea and it has been mentioned a few times! I'm definitely going to give this one a go. One for the back logs :D Maybe a nuzlocke?
@@Rypereon Nuzlocke as in, you catch every Pokémon he's ever used and release them as they faint? That could work, but I'd prefer if you did it like he's implied to do in the game, that being catch them for the battles and then release them. But in the end, it's your choice and I'd watch it regardless of how you decided to do it.
Well, it’s neat you recognized Gardevoir’s Japanese name. I liked that seeing when I played emerald, just when I was about 7 I had one on my team, without speaking a lick of English.
I have not seen a challenge when someone beats Sword and Sheild as Prof. Kukui so that would be interesting.
I'll look into it but I have something a little more creative this weekend. What if Sonia was a gym trainer and became champion and professor? Loads of theories and clues :)

I’d love to see one as an E4 member. Maybe Lucian? Also, Misty Terrain doesn’t boost fairy type moves. It actually just halves dragon type moves, which Gardevoir is immune to.

diantha has a rlly nice pokemon team, in the games it just lacks proper moves/strategy lol
True. They really need to do Diantha properly in a remake. She actually could be a good challenge if they gave her smart AI and provided her Pokemon with proper movesets. Gardevoir should be switching in on Dragon type moves or whenever she can Trace an Ability that makes her immune to an attack that would hurt one of Diantha's other Pokemon and/or boosts Gardevoir's stats like Storm Drain, Motor Drive or Lightningrod before she Mega Evolves. Saving her for last isn't as strategically viable as making full use of Trace before transforming.
As for movesets, Gardevoir and Aurorus should both have Hyper Voice due to Pixilate and Refrigerate respectively, Tyrantrum should either have Rock Head or replace Head Smash with Stone Edge or Rock Slide, Goodra should have Sludge Wave, Hawlucha should have U-Turn and Gourgiest should have Leech Seed and Will-O-Wisp.
Also, give Diantha items like they did for Challenge Mode Iris in Black and White 2 and Cynthia in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Just to let you know, Diantha's Gardevoir was a girl and not a boy. Wally's Ralts was male and became a Gallade, so Wally had a Male Gallade and Diantha had a Female Gardevoir.

The only problem i have with this type of challenge is... all pokemon games are too easy... almost aevery game can be beaten with a single unevolved pokemon... so how could you possibly not beat it with a full team? It would be better if it was "without whiting out even once" or "Nuzzlocke style using that team" or something like that...
