  • The Dell Precision T5810 supports 1 x Intel E5-1600 V3 or Intel E5-2600v3 series CPUs (LGA2011-3 socket). This tower workstation is a powerful desktop for every day consumers. There are 8 DIMM slots utilizing DDR4 memory modules. Speeds supported included 2133MHz, 2400MHz or 2666MHz. You can configure your Precision T5810 workstation with ECC Registered, also known as RDIMMs. Load Reduced (LRDIMMs) will not work inside the Dell T5810 tower. The max configuration is 256GB via (8 x 32GB) DDR4 PC4-21300V-R 2666MHz ECC Reg Server Memory. 64GB DDR4 memory modules are not supported. There are 4 Memory Channels. The Dell Precision T5810 has two DIMM slots per memory channel. The RAM channels are color coded with white being the start of the channel. The proper configuration for balancing the memory distribution load would be 2, 4 or 8 DIMMs. We will discuss in more depth in this video as well as show you how to actually load the DIMMs inside your Dell Precision T5810 workstation.

    Anybody knows what's the maximum RAM configuration that supports max speed (2133, 2400)? Finding such information online is pretty much impossible (many hours over few days and I found nothing).
    I had a Xen 1620v3 in such PC. Ran flawlessly with 8 4GB DIMMs at 2133. Swapped it for 1650v4 but with 8 DIMMs it can only do 1866. Removing 4 DIMMs puts me back at 2133 (but now it's just 16GB which is really limiting, but the performance drop from running memory at 1866 is around 20% for me). I wanted to upgrade the RAM to 2400 one and 64-128GB. But now I know I am limited to just 4 DIMMs if I want to have maximum performance.
    This brings me to my question: what is the maximum size of DIMMs that will let me run at 2400MT/s? Because now I am not so sure 4x32GB will be able to be run at full speed.

    Hi to all you guys. Would like to make an important question in my case concerning these dell computers that come with raid as an active drive controller (intel rst active) and not ahci. The problem is that whenever i try to boot into these machines in a winpe environment with the Strelec package if you know that, in order to reset the admin password if i cannot log into it or just backup the data of a user into an external hdd before reinstalling windows if the precedent os is damaged and cannot be repaired, the internal hdd-s or ssd-s of just the os directories into the drives are invisible. I click on “This PC” and there’s only my usb visible and nothing else. I made a search on the internet and it seems it has something to do with the intel rst driver that abstracts the hdd from the os. Please help me, what should i do in this case in order to be able managing the pc even when the pc is unbootable or just the admin password is not recognized.

    Hi Scott,
    We want to install 16GB RAM in T5810 Machine, however, the document says we can install it via 4 x 4GB. My question is, can we install 2 x 8GB or 1 x 16GB to attain the required configuration? If yes, what will be the Slot population for 2 x 8GB or 1 x 16GB.

    Hi,
    I have a Dell precision T5810 with Intel Xeon E5 2673V3 processor and one 32GB RDIMM (quad rank) module installed. I recently purchased one more module of the same configuration (quad rank as well) but when I install both modules in their correct locations (as you showed in the video, the topmost and the bottommost slot on either side of the CPU. it is as shown on the inside of the side panel) the system wont boot up, instead an orange light flashes in the power button. Can you please help me?

    Hey, i run a DELL Precision T5810 with a intel Xeon E5 2697 v3, 48gb of DDR3 2133MHZ and a RTX 3060 it's a little too old for the RTX 3060 so ican't have the full performances of it but i do use a HTC vive pro with it so i do VR on that almost 10 year old computer and it's really not bad at all that computers are really good!
    my old DELL Precision it's the T1650 with a Xeon E3 1240 v2, 16gb of DDR3 1600MHZ and a geforce GTX1650 that was also a really good compact and powerful PC for something for 2012! (ok once again it's not the original graphic card... the og was a quadro k2000 you do nothing with that anymore...) i don't recommend it for VR but it does work sith the vive pro! the only down side of that machines is they are not compatible windows 11 f@@k you microsoft!

    In HWiNFO64 I'm getting temperatures like this: DIMM[0] (DIMM1) - 35 deg C, DIMM[4] (DIMM3), 35dec C, DIMM[8] (DIMM2) 44 deg C, DIMM[12] (DIMM4) 44 deg C. Basically, first two rows in HWiNFO have temperatures around 35 deg Celsius, and row 3&4 show temperatures higher by 10 deg Celsius. Is this normal? What could be the reason?
    I'm also looking for information from owners of T5810: what is the rpm of the PCIe fan on your machine? I'm getting 1600rpm, which makes the machine quite loud. When I set it to lowest possible speed which is 400rpm, it becomes really quiet.

    • @cloudninjas
      @cloudninjas  Před 2 lety

      Would recommend checking your Thermal Management feature in the BIOS. You can raise and lower fan speeds. Dell has an article about it and shows the different options: Optimized, Cool, Quiet and Ultra Performance. Might want to play around with this and see if it helps. Smash that subscribe.

    It only accepts RDIMM for quadchannels. If you put in regular non-server ram, it accepts dual channel. Only 2 ram sticks will be supported out of 8. So think carefully.

      No. But I can say that the RAM configuration in this machine is absolute asinine. In the documentation, I would have never took the chart that literal. The machine came with 2x4GB modules. I purchased 2x32GB modules to give me 64GB. I figured I would buy them later as I needed them. NOPE! With both 32GB installed I get 8GB of RAM. Then I added the other 4GB sticks and now I have 16GB RAM. What a complete stupid way to register the RAM. Now I have to go spend $300 just to get the RAM to register all the way.
