As a Dodge lover I am happy to see at least one of our American Muscle cars still make it out of the purge 😂😂 looks like I will be getting Mustangs from now on.
This GTD is awesome, but it needs an interior appropriate for a $300,000+ supercar.
That's the thing, it's not supposed to be just a supercar, but a racing muscle car!

@@ihavealife002 the mustang gtd is built by multimatic motorsports in canada. multimatic built the ford gt from 2015 onwards, both road and race cars. they build all the versions of the mustang race cars, a mazda race car and they worked on the amg one along with several aston martins. they're well known in f1 racing too, their suspension systems are top notch. it has a ford badge but it's built by a race car company.
I love the whole car as a package but the wheels are just incredible. Look like forged stone.
No doubt this is best looking mustang, I have ever seen, even the old fastbacks mach 1s whatever. This thing is a work of art, and practical aero, I want to kiss the designer of the body. This is perfect (and im not really a mustang guy... until now)

@@machoman5356 I would hope it's faster than the GT3RS which only has 518hp. The GTD has 800hp. But I'll still take a 2018 GT2RS which is 6 years old and still faster than this with 2 less cylinders and 100 less hp. Also. this GTD is $100k more than the current GT3RS.

On what planet can you get a 992 GT3 RS for $100k less than a GTD? That's ludicrous. If anything, they're being marketed at a higher price than the GTD, and that's a car that comes highly spec'd as standard and is being sold direct to customers by Ford (no market adjustments or upcharges by dealers).
@@CaseyCollier Ford has stated an "estimated" starting price of $325k which means it can still be lower or higher. You can order a 992 GT3RS for $240k direct from Porsche. My mistake. $85k less based on the GTD's estimated price.
The window for the suspension is how real engineers make stuff! Look at it and oh you can work on it at well!

6:45 is GT3 RS, Lambo SVJ (didnt know that was so fast), AMG black series,
6:30 AMG One.

I'm a Porsche guy but i have to say the GTD looks good but now they need to put some official times down
Indeed, I'm a little worried that they will underperform, because front engine is just not rear engine.. But that power plant is probably one of the most exciting ones among the homologation cars. Mind you the Mercedes' engine is quite a bit away from the front axle, while this mustang doesn't seem to have the engine farther from the front axles.

The mustang doesnt really look like a Porsche GT2/3RS beater to me. Not even close. It still loses traction at speed around corners sometimes. Thats not going to cut it if you want to beat Porsche.

@@rns6889 The GTD weight distribution is as close to 50/50 as you can get, due in large part to the transaxle in the rear! The engine is set back and lowered with a dry sump lube setup and it has a carbon fiber driveshaft, saving a good deal of weight! Believe me, they built this Mustang to really handle incredibly well. Check out a few of the early runs around the Nurburgring recently put on CZcams. The car stays flat in hard cornering looking more like an F1 car than a production coupe.
The rear suspension. You are describing… is called a cantilever suspension… system.

Stunning car, not too sure about the screens and the rest of the interior…also to compare a supercharged 5.2 litre to a N/A 4.0 litre, they should compare it to a GT2RS Porsche rather. Awesome car

Chevy has built one of the best cars ever made with that beast.

Man... that GTD, it's got me. When the GT supercar first came out, then the gen2 arrived, I was in complete auto bliss. They are a masterpiece of American engineering. The European cars are also amazing, but the Fords have a different soul to them making them very special in their own way. The GTD is no exception to that rule. As far as the interior materials, looks and feel goes, who cares! It's still a Mustang, not GT supercar!
This reminds me of the mustang gtr concept from around 2004 or 2005

GT3 cars have roughly 500hp, not the 800hp here and the active aero "drag reduction system" is also not allowed racing GT3.

This will be a special car. Time will tell if it hangs with the best. The buy in (if you could get one) is up there, but value should remain very strong, due to exclusivity, so long as performance promises hold true.
Hay Ford performance division I hope you guys heard the news. Corvette just released the C8 corvette with a 5.5 liter flat plan crank twin turbos with 1086 horse power. I sure hope you guys got the all new GT500 in the gym doing some much needed bench presses.
That's kinda what I was saying...this new GTD is very nice, but I'd DEFINITELY take a new ZR1 over it (or the GT3RS) any day of the week.

That is what makes it worth $300K and is made by superior engineers that also designed and built the complete chassis for the Porsche 963 GTP IMSA and WEC racer! If you are looking for someone more than capable of building you a winning world class racing machine, Multimatic is the one to go with!

The window showcasing that gorgeous suspension system needs a quick release , so you can get in there and detail it.
They could have in-layed a reversed image of the information panel into the dash, then reflected the information on an enclosed reflector, which, when looking at the graphics from the drivers perspective, they float in a very pleasing holographic effect.
For everyone who keeps talking about the interior. It's a race car if you are driving it like your supposed to it doesn't matter. Most of us can afford it anyway let it go

Multimatic did a great job with the car. A Mustang only the very wealthy will be able to obtain, once they fill out the application. 😂
Just filling out the application doesn't guarantee you a car. You must be approved by Ford before you are allowed to order one. Same process as the 3rd generation Ford GT. Over 9,000 potential buyers completed applications, on that car, and just 1,500 were approved!

You can't really argue how great of a GT3 car is it did finish third in the 24 hours of the lemans
Yes it did. The Manthey Porsche finished first. Not that it matters...neither of those cars is the street version that's for sale by the manufacturer, and they're both subject to WEC's BOP ruleset. So using a LMGT3 race to guess which street car will be faster is silly. A Porsche GT3 R race car is not the same as a GT3 RS street car, and a Ford GT3 race car is not the same as a GTD street car. Now, both street cars do share a lot with their racing counterparts, but they are NOT the same thing.
What's the name of the paint color on that GTD? I know they're talking about custom paint colors ("anything you want") on the GTD, but I'm kinda hoping that's a real-world example of the 2025 "Molten Magenta Metallic Tri-Color" paint they have for certain GTs, because the paint on that GTD is beautiful, and I'd love to get it on a Mustang I can actually afford.

What exactly would this be compared with, not a GT3RS as it's significantly down on power so are we looking at a GT2RS? I suppose this GTD will be capable of lapping the Ring in under 6:47.
2026 GT2RS will be better that the GTD. GT3RS is not a fair comparison as even the old 991.2 GT3RS is faster than the 992.1 GT3RS

GT3rs is all natural this mustang is force induction. The next GT2 is already testing. It’s a GT3 with force induction.

In your opinion do you think that this is a precursor to what the next generation GT350 or GT500 will look like? Although this is a unique car and everything won’t necessarily carry over into the next generation high performance mustang, it’s hard to believe that Ford wouldn’t go and trickle down these features.
If only Ford liked me enough to let me drive one for a whole summer as a daily...
