@10k Subscribers without any videos Challenge that was the final of the u20 European championship. It wasn't the best race from my site, the time was 10,62sec.
Maurice Greene is the best sprinter of all time! His strength, his passion, his speed and start have nothing in common with other sprinters! And after a victory, he sticks out his tongue at his rivals.
Person: "How do I get a girlfriend." The Way to Win: "...above all, the ability to relax" Agreed! Relaxation is the most important theme to high speed running!
I disagree with the maurice greene statement in 2001 in Edmonton he would’ve ran a sub 9.8 if he didn’t hobble due to his injury not a a sub 9.7 I think he could’ve broken the WR to a 9.76 at most
In 2001, Greene was in the best shape of his life. Remember he ran a 9.82 in a -0.2 headwind, after 4 false starts, with good but not perfect 0.14 reaction time and with an injury the last 30m. I think without injury he would have run around 9.72 (so his coach John Smith said) with a perfect 0.10 reaction time, the time would have been 9.68 with a +2.0 wind the time drops to 9.59 and if there were no false starts no one knows how fast he would have run in 2001 maybe even Bolt wouldn't beat his record and today the 100m WR would still belong to Maurice Greene but he's out of luck….
@@user-gw6bz9nl2u lol He didn't get injured after 60 m otherwise he could have never won that race at all. He got injured after maybe 80-85 m as you can tell by the splits. The splits suggests no more than 9-74 to 9.76.
Everyone was doping in the 80's especially Carl Lewis. Ben Johnson unfortunately was setup and thrown under the bus. I still consider him one of the BEST sprinters of ALL time (behind Bolt of course)
Carl Lewis was the USA poster boy of athletics and everything was centered around him. For them he was "superman" and they built up so much hype around him that to them the 100m was a given. So when Ben spoiled the show they pulled out "Plan B" and the rest is history.
Truthisstrangerthan Fiction Ben wasn't framed at all. As a canadian, i watched the entire Dubin Commission from start to finish, and the drug use was shown to have been going on for years and was systemic among Charlie Francis' stable of athletes both male and female. They all had the best science of the time on their side and past drug test after drug test while admittedly being on the juice throughout. The reason Ben got caught is due to a serious injury sustained prior to the games, so they pushed him to the limits of cycling on the steroids to help repair the muscle. The time to clear was 21 days, so they always stopped 28 days before the final (when they'd be sampled) to give leeway. Due to the injury and a miscount of days, Ben got his last dose (which happened to be larger than normal due to the injury) 20 days before being tested, and he hadn't cleared it all in time. It is clear cut, proven, and unequivocal. And publicly available as well.
I will mention that Zenon Nowosz of Poland ran a 6.52 on 25 February 1973 in Zaberze, Poland (the top four broke 6.6, the world record prior to the race). As far as I know, this was the record until 1986 - I've seen nothing about the time being rejected.
@@IronM1ke1983 Not quite. Bolt ran 6.31 in the first 60m of his 9.58, the wind was positive 0.9 m/s. Using a wind calculator this would be a 6.32 or 6.33 if the wind were 0. Also it's in a 100m race so he's not going to lean in to the imaginary 60m finish line. So basically he could run 6.32~6.33 no wind and no lean, so probably still 6.31 with no wind and a lean.
Idk about the greatest, but he was way ahead of his time. Had he been allowed to keep running who knows what we would have seen. At best I'd put him 2nd... Bolt is just too far out there. I could see Ben sub 9.70 with today's technology.

Yeah Ben Johnson was amazing. I think he maybe has a case for 2nd best all time, but 9.79 is not close to 9.58 even if it was done 20 years sooner. I'd say Bolt is more ahead of his time than Ben, Bolt's record will stand 50 years, been 11 already, I think it has another 39ish in it. I just assume everyone can be on drugs/has to be to compete with other people on drugs, so I'm not really placing anything on that. Doped/not doped, whatever, I think Bolt is still number 1 even in comparison to the year he ran in.
I heard that a cushion in the spike is not the most efficient way to put force into the ground, because not all the force is getting into the ground. If that is the case, why does Nike’s new sprinting spike have a cushion like spring at the base of the forefoot?
I believe Mo believed he could have gone sub 9.70 there. He hurt himself before the finish line and still finished in 9.82. He hit a 60m split of 6.33 so he was certainly on pace.
