The layout of Handsacre junction will need rethinking following the cancellation of Phase 2 of HS2. A much more complex layout will be required to access the fast lines as all traffic heading north will now have to go through the junction. That may require an amendment to the Act of Parliament.
It depends on what is proposed as an alteration. If everything is within the boundaries of the line as laid out in the Act, then no, it won't need any new Act. However, I suspect a Transport & Works Act Order will be necessary if more land is to be subject to compulsory purchase. Of course if HS2 and the landowner come to a private agreement, no Order will be necessary either.@@peterwilliamallen1063

Oh give it a rest, every thing is sorted and will not require an act of parliament

…..and we will be left with an overly complex junction when it is continued north and the retrofit ends up not having been needed….
